#I made my installation dirty by accident, what does this mean exactly? Think I wasn't paying attent

dirty is when you edited a file you shouldn't have
I only ever edit printer.cfg and have not touched that for some time.
Only appeared after the update
did you update from 1.x to 2.x?
Nope
can you ssh into the machine and run cd /home/pi/printer_data/config/RatOS; git status and paste the output here?
Thanks appreciated mate
@west phoenix any idea how that happened? It doesn't make sense to me
Its still printing fine incidentally, tried the two automated repair options but neither worked
Hard and soft
what did it say when you did that?
Regretfully I can't remember, my brain cant remember what I had for breakfast since I hit 45yrs
I've had that problem since i turned 12, i don't blame you ๐
have exactly the same issue just flashed the 2.0 image to the sd and go through the setup wizard and then when I'm updating RatOs for the very first time its dirty....
Here's how you can fix it:
cd /home/pi/printer_data/config/RatOS; git checkout .
I'm supposed to be a VMWare specialist, its getting troublesome for work now
Would like to know how it happened, so if you can upload your logs (klipper and moonraker) then maybe there's a clue in there.
And its reproduceable, always happens for me when I flash again
I will try and reproduce this, thank you
Here you go mate fill your boots
Sounds very strange
Dont bust a gut pal, I can always re-install
pi
raspberry
default pi and raspberry
weird pi and raspberry doesnt work
Suggests you might have changed it mate
I typed "ssh 192.168.178.87 pi" in my terminal on mac and then raspberry when the password promt shows up, and it says permission denied
all lower case?
I haven't changed it I installed the image two(!) hours ago I think I would know
yes
its a completely fresh installation
Thats odd
I don't know whats going on here but those are some weird issues
IP changed without you knowing perhaps? Are you trying to SSH into something else?
That happend to me the other day
nope its definetly the correct one I checked in the router
it was somehow a mac problem worked instantly on my phone -.-
That didn't fix it incidentally mate, but dont worry about it
It would be ssh [email protected]
What does cd /home/pi/printer_data/config/RatOS; git status say now?
okay thanks
wtf..
git diff
same for me
try running git diff
still the same status afterwards with git status
I'm curious what it thinks has changed, hence the git diff
CRLF will be replaced... But it's a binary file.. What in the hell..
gimme a sec
Okay something similar happened to me too
is it from * text eol=lf in the git attributes file?
Here's a fix @hexed granite @ocean burrow
git reset --hard HEAD~2
git pull
Yes
perfect, that did the trick now it says everything up-to-date
sorry for all the trouble
No apologies necessary it was an actual bug, so you helped me out!
Same goes for you @ocean burrow thank you for bringing this to my attention
Will give it a try in the morning mate. Bed time for me as I'm no longer a young spunk
Haha no problem, let me know if you have any further problems ๐
