Installation on x86 or 64 Bit netbooks

Hi is there an stand alone installer that I can use for my Netbooks. I wont buy a Raspberry Pi when I have 2 Linux mashines that i dont use anymore.

Unfortunately no, RatOS is a raspberry pi os image. Everything is tailored to optimize that experience.

okay thx. then i have to do it myself. i thought i could save myself the 30 minutes of work with an installer.

It does quite a bit more than that. I would recommend buying an RPi.

I'll test it tonight. An hour is legitimate, otherwise I'll buy a Pi. I will report back.

you don't want the ft-bullseye branch for ratos, that has been merged into v2.x branch

what does this branch do exactly. it comes with the install. i can cancel this out of the update manager

this was the branch Mikel used when doing the work of porting the updates from upstream mainsailos when moving from buster to bullseye

but it doesn't have all the latest fixes

you should use v2.x if you are going to do 2 alpha

this comes with the last batch ob github alpha. I have installed the same on the pi of my 2 printers and it looks identical.

alpha 5 is the last pre release ?!

yes, the next release will switch back to 2.x, ft-bullseye was merged last week.

okay than i will wait for this. when i switch the release on the pi it bekame a fallback to the 1.2.4 repo.

on the running netbook i left it alone at this point
