Best solution for Elgato Wave 3 mic always peaking when I yell?

I was thinking for a solution for all uses since I know you can mess with audio filters in OBS but you can't in a Discord call 😭 what can I do with the mic itself in order to stop peaking/clipping?

I reinstalled the app, tried multiple cables and ports, restarted and other trouble shooting tips.

Hey, I have a 4k60 pro and after updating the 4k Capture Utility it's apparently impossible for me to capture 4k from a PS5. My pc monitors are 2x1080p, 1x1440p. Apparently, because I don't have a 4k monitor and the ps5 doesn't support 1440p, I can only capture at 1080p

which doesn't make an ounce of logic, because why would my physical monitors have anything to do with a video signal from a PCI-E card? Also 2160p cap worked before at some point (though very inconsistently, I've never had a good experience with this product)

so is there any way to actually capture at 4k?

I believe it matches your output source hence no 4k. Do you have a 4k TV? See if that could be ideal for now, to capture 4k.

I'm starting to think this capture card is a scam, tbh. I've never had a hardware product work so inconsistently. Even when it used to work a few months ago (before updating the 4k Capture Utility, which I regret), it worked sometimes. and then, after turning everything off and coming back the next day without having made any changes, it wouldn't work

so i found this, your tv is 4k and the hdmi needs to be at least 2.0. connected to a 4k monitor, I’m assuming this means 4k tv as well. yeah, I've used the cable that comes with the ps5 and others to connect ps5 to TV. Always get 4k signal, meaning all cables are capable of it

Hi friends. So everytime I go to edit a the GoXLR button on my stream deck, it crashes. I've reinstalled the streamdeck app, I've reinstalled the goxlr plugin. I've made sure that the GoXLR app is connected to Streamdeck. Every single time I click on one of the buttons for GoXLR on my streamdeck, it pauses and thinks and eventually just freezes up and have to do a hard close and restart on the app.
Oddly enough, the buttons work fine through the streamdeck itself, it's only when I want to edit them or add a new one.

That is the normal behavior. It does not actually hold down the key. It repeats the key rapidly. You can take a look at Barraider's Super Macro plugin. It allows for holding the key down.

Hi guys. Running Streamdeck mobile on iphone and samsung galaxy. Neither will let me use the Twitch 1.6 control functions. I've uninstalled and reinstalled from the website, but every time I submit a command on the streamdeck, all I get is a green checkmark and nothing happens.

Hey sorry to bother anyone who replies with this message. I bought the HD60 S+ and I've been having a USB 3.0 power surge issue. The motherboard is a PRIME Z370-P II which provides a few USB 3.1 support. I bought a USB HUB and still having the same power surge issue?

I managed to get a connection with a normal USB-C slower speed however, with the higher end cable provided with the box I get the above power surge

HDR is great to play in, but not to stream or capture. Lots of adjustments are made for color corrections. Not everyone has an HDR monitor/tv and there are many inconsistencies that can occur. Someone recently did a rec. in HDR, what looked great on monitor, did not for adobe Pr.

Hi, I have an issue. My Elgato 4k60pro is only showing up as a 1281x720 monitor , when I attempt to output video from my gaming PC to streaming PC.

Any1 out there feel strongly about Elgato’s Ring Light versus Key Light? Seeing as they’re the same price I’m guessing they’re fairly similar. Do they both integrate smoothly with the stream deck to allow you to control everything from there?

Hello, does anyone know why the quality of my gameplay on You Tube is so pixelated?

The video is at 60 frames and at 1080p. When I compare my gameplay to another Youtuber's gameplay with the same resolution, fps, same game and platform, the quality difference is noticeable.

The Green Screen doesn't have a way to easily disassemble it for washing, but you should be able to spot clean it with a clean, damp cloth, or mild soap and water with a towel, and then allow it to air dry completely.

So I ended up looking it up, and there a countdown plug-in, but it created a word document that when you create a text in OBS it pulls that text and I’m assume it’s a script that when the button is clicked it starts the timer

But the script is empty and doesn’t have any context so OBS keeps saying theres nothing there

As of the 5.3 upgrade, the new scene switch finally has a dropdown with scrollbar (instead of the big all-scene pop-up, THANK YOU) but sometimes all of the scene switcher shows ONLY THE ACTIVE SCENE in the dropdown, no other scenes. It's not clear to me how to get around this, restarting the app or the system does sometimes clear it up. :\ Anyone figured this one out yet?

Workaround is to select the targeted scene in OBS and create the button (then you can only select the targeted scene as it's all that's offered <_<) but that seems a lil weird

Removed control center and plugin. Reinstalled control center and it can still do the same thing. It can see the keylight, I can select the network and put in the password, the light will flash but the connection fails. I might try a factory reset of the router today.

Hello! I am considering buying the Elgato Wave mic arm for my Elgato Wave 3 Mic. I saw the "how to install" video on elgato's YouTube channel but they were using the shock mount to connect the arm with the mic. Do I need to also buy the shock mount or is there a way to connect them without it (if so, any youtube tutorials for it would be appreciated!)? Thank you!

From reading the docs, it's possible to mount the Wave3 on any arm, they mention a boom adaptor, but I believe that to be included in the package. The wave mic arm, accepts any microphone using standard screw mounts, and as such, you should be able to mount hte wave3 to the wave mic arm, without the shock mount.

Personally I'd go for the shock mount though, as any bumping on the table will shake the microphone, and might be picked up by it. This will sound like you were tapping on the mic. The shock mount will prevent the shocks from reaching the microphone, and avoid the noise generated.

If the surface to which you mount the microphone, is not connected to the table you're having your keyboard and mouse on, this will not be a big issue.

I just got an elgato cam link pro, no matter what device I plug into it, all I get is a blank green input, if it's on the Multiview layout. On just a full screen layout all I get is no signal. I've tried both my Nintendo switch and my Sony a5100. This acts the same in all 4 ports.
I have a cam link 4k already, and both of these devices work when plugged into there.
I've tried rebooting, and reseated the Cam link pro in the PCIE slot.
Does anyone have any other suggestions, or do you think this unit is DOA?

I've always had to "initialize" my 4k60 pro mk 2

by opening the 4k capture utility

to get either passthrough to work or for the purposes of capture in obs, etc

in obs, i can't even get the "configure video" panel to open (and video format is normally YVsomething and not "Any" - it normally shows "Any" if I fail to open the 4k capture utility to initialize the card first)

last night, and continuing onward to today, there's nothing I can do to initialize the card and get it to grab a signal or do passthrough any more

4K capture utility just shows No Signal with no sign of life that it's even trying to interact with the card

shows this in the settings window currently

tried shutting down the pc, flipping the switch on the PSU and mashing the power button (elgato should remove this nonsense from their troubleshooting though since it's nonsense anyway)

tried switching all HDMI cables out as well, no change

the device I'm attempting to capture is a PS5, HDCP is off

most importantly, there were 0 changes that corresponded with this cease in the card's functionality, it stopped working without any change etc on my end

used to use an HD60S and did not have problems of this sort with that device - it always passed through, even with the PC off, and I never had to open elgato's software to get the passthrough running, I only upgraded to this thing for 4k support and to get rid of the horrible chroma subsampling which plagues the hd60s model

honestly between that and the problems with my 4k60 right now I'm not buying another elgato product

if this thing's dead I'm looking for an alternative

even when it works the 4k60 randomly drops signal for a half a second sometimes on the capture only, or sometimes on the passthrough, but for some reason not both. when it drops on the passthrough there's a really ugly and slow screen tear that happens when the signal returns to the display

just kept restarting and throwing attempts at it, got it running, no idea what fixed it as i just basically kept attempting restart, open 4k capture utility and see if i get any results

but now im back to the signal intermittence, basically the capture keeps dropping to a "no signal" screen for a split second periodically. This is unusable, and unwatchable for content creation.

this is only occuring on the capture, not on the passthrough therefore we can rule out the hdmi cables.

What, besides my card being probably defective, causes this?

i reopened 4k capture utility after i started getting this (albeit intermittent) signal and now i'm back in full-time no-signal zone again

i just wanted to check the 4k capture utility settings to see if there's anything in there that could stop the signal dropping, but evidently just opening the software at all killed signal entirely again

by the way, the same intermittent drops occur in the 4k capture utility as well as OBS, doesn't matter which, any form of viewing the captured signal has intermittent drops every few seconds, only the passthrough is showing an uninterrupted signal (though im sure the long since aforementioned passthrough drop subsequently followed by very slow screen tear upon signal returning will probably come back at some point, though this issue is much more rare and only happens on the passthrough so unless i caught it by recording video of the screen I'm not going to be able to demonstrate that one easily)

so it seems like the 4k capture utility is running passthrough but absolutely no capture with Input EDID Mode: Display (the setting I used to use before last night's troubles started)

Input EDID Mode: Merged forced my PS5 to 1080p or below as the only resolution options, as well as no signal on the capture.

Input EDID Mode: Internal with EDID (Internal): Default is the only combination now in which I'm getting a passthrough and a capture signal but again the capture side signal is intermittent in accordance with the footage shown previously

actually scratch that, that was true a moment ago but now I cannot get a capture on "Internal" either and suddenly while it supported 4k a moment ago, it's locking the PS5 to 1080p on Internal now. No combination is enabling a capture signal, only passthrough is working, and only Input EDID Mode: Display is allowing the PS5 to output 2160p

really wish there was any consistency to how any of these settings are functioning and performing but almost as soon as I describe my experience, it becomes contradicted by an unexpected result

flipping EDID modes around again cleared that up but i'm currently stuck on "No Signal" on any capture preview whether obs or 4k capture utility and no combination of settings picks up a signal, meanwhile passthrough is working

well that's it from me for now until someone tags me. imma go research other capture hardware from other manufacturers since it's looking like i'm in the market for something that actually works properly. I'll also be beginning to spread the word among my friends and gaming communities in which I participate about my experience with Elgato products failing to perform

I have one keylight air rn that just straight up refuses to connect to my wifi/control centre anymore.
Ive got two, and theyve worked great for like over a year plus, then suddenly today one of them were disconnected- and im not able to reconnect it at all - I've tried resetting multiple times and ive restarted my router too and forgotten the previous wifi config that was on that keylight. I've tested from phone and PC. Once i reset it and attempt through windows it just gives me the error "connection failed. Cant Find elgato key light air 9DE0 in network "my network name". Super frustrating as the other one works fine

When I set it up, I can change the brightness to go higher. So it's definitely responding to the control centre.

However, it doesn't turn off or go dimmer past a certain point. Like when i turn it off, it just goes back to that threshold middle-brightness

My OBS is pretty simple - mostly browser sources and game capture - single face cam and mic audio source.

I'm in the process of moving my stream notifications to local, so my complexity will be going up...

I had an issue with my Cam Link Pro and ended up calling their tech support number (I'm here in the states). My experience was superb. The tech stayed on the line with me while we did troubleshooting. Finally had to uninstall 4K Capture and reinstall, but it fixed it.

Hopefully their online support team is as patient and helpful as the call center was.

I just updated alot of hardware on my PC and I am using the Wave 3 with the Wave Link system for my output to my headphones. I used to plug in directly to my PC and select headphones from Monitor Mix and get my audio, I could not get audio through this method and I uninstalled and re installed the Wave Link software and still nothing. I plugged my headphones directly into the Wave Mic and there is my audio. I dont know if I just accept that this is the answer or not but I used to get audio back in my headset from my mic when I did this and now I don't i think thats direct monitoring. Is there something I can do to revert?

TLDR: I am only getting headphone audio through the headphone port on Wave 3, I am not getting audio when plugged in to headphone port on PC.

For OBS, just make sure that you have selected a correct resolution
For example, capturing from a 1080p console using a capture card and selecting a wrong resolution in OBS (e.g. 4k) won't work
If you want to capture different resolution and switching between them , on my side, selecting display for EDID was the more reliable selection

If nothing work on your side, you still can capture 4k utility from OBS, not the best solution but still a temporary one

Did you try to disable/enable the capture card from the device manager and check if it could help ? Sometimes powering thing off and on again helps, that's why I'd rather use an USB capture card, more easier to reset but you should be able to do the same trick using the device manager (sometimes I have some issue with capture card when I switch the input source on the go)

honestly should've paid more attention to the fact that elgato is a corsair subsidiary, have had a case and an AIO cooler from them before, both of which had problems, fundamental design problems with the former (drives too close together in drive cage which is in a back enclosure in the case which does not share case fan airflow = drives operating above rated temperature) and faultiness with the latter. So I have an issue where my Capture card (note I am trying to do a dual stream setup) I have 1 set of hdmi going from the [IN] port on the Capture card (4k60 pro) and going to my gaming pc and then the other set of hdmi cable going from the [OUT] port on the card to the main gaming monitor, the issue is that for some reason my gaming pc is recognizing that the capture card is like another monitor and that is what is being recognized on the 4k capture card software... how do I fix it to where it does the correct monitor?

So I just got the Wave XLR and I need a little help?

I'm trying to understand how to set up multiple audio channels in OBS (so I can ditch VM Potato).
However, I am unable to hear the soundeffects from my meme sources in OBS and I can't for the life of me figure out what to connect to where to make the audio from my meme effects and stuff go to my headphones.
My alerts also seem to be going to my headphones, but not out to the stream.
With VM, I was using 5 audio channels in OBS:
1: Stream (ALL)
2: Desktop Audio (Alerts, system sounds, meme effects)
3: Discord Voice Chat
4: Music (Spotify/Browser)
5: Microphone

I want to know how to replicate this set up using Wave Link instead of VoiceMeeter.

Anyone have a solution for the crackling audio issue with Wavelink? Seems to only happen when I've trying to use the stream mix output as a source in XSplit. I've testing everything else. Even just using the Wave link directly or Wave link through the Xsplt as the main audio input and it's fine. Only when use the Wave Link pass through mix feed is there an issue.

Hey guys I have a few technical difficulties that I was hoping someone could help me with?

The first one is that quite often my audio will start crackling in the playback of the elgato

This is fixed by restarting the elgato

But obviously during the middle of a stream this is not ideal

I checked the video, but it didn't really solve my issue. It told me how to set up different tracks for stuff that's on the wave XLR, but what about sound from stuff that ISN'T on the WaveXLR and is simply coming from an MP4 file that I imported into OBS like this?

basically, I have these memes set to monitor and output, and they play off both desktop audio & their own audio, but are only heard once through the streamed track.
When using the Wave XLR setup, I can't hear them at all and the memes effects, along with my alerts don't play on the desktop audio track

I need to make it so that the desktop audio track doesn't get muted and stuff in OBS isn't effected by Wavelink. Otherwise, I'll have to stick with VM...

Hello, I am trying to stream games on Facebook using my Iphone 12 pro. I purchased the Elgato Hd60s and am able to get the video and game audio working in streamlabs. However, the stream is unable to capture my mic / even when it does, it sounds very soft even if I put the mic directly in front of my mouth.

On OBS, add a "Video Capture Device" source to your scene and select your capture card (HD60 S) in the dropdown list and that's pretty much it.

You should have your gaming computer output (HDMI) plugged in the HD60 S source input
Your gaming display should be connected to the HD60 S output (HDMI) so, via the passthrough, you will have your gaming computer image to your gaming computer monitor
Your HD60 S should be connected to your streaming PC using the USB cable
Then in order to record/stream using the HD60 S, you have to add a Video Capture Device in OBS and select the HD60S and you should see the same thing that is displayed in your gaming monitor
Is it what you already did ?

You want to do a 2 PCs stream setup, am I right (or a console capture) ?

You have 2 PC (or one console and a streaming PC) with, let say, 2 monitors - One for your gaming PC (or console) and one for your streaming PC
You do not need to duplicate anything

Your gaming PC (or console) should be connected to your gaming monitor through the HD60 S HDMI input and output
Your streaming PC should be connected to its monitor directly through HDMI (or whatever the standard used)

Your capture card should then be connected through USB to the streaming PC and you would be able to capture the gaming PC video using OBS (or 4k utility software)
(If it is not clear, you should be able to find lot of picture of this classic configuration on google)

I'm having trouble with Elgato 4k Capture Utility hotkeys not working. I am able to get the record toggle (ctrl + shift + r) to work in starting/stopping recording in the software, but the screenshot hotkey (ctrl + shift + s) and flashback recording (ctrl + shift + f) are not working. Anyone have a fix for this or are seeing the same thing?

Hey there! My Wave XLR glitches and resets its settings from time to time by itself and its a pain in the *** having to change all the outputs of all the programs and games again every other month. My mic is a Shure MV7. The solution I have found so far is uninstalling and re-installing it again, cause even if I try setting the sources again after each reset, the software itself starts malfunctioning and I wont be able to move the sliders properly. Hi there good people! I've just done a full reinstall on my PC. Then after installing the Wavelink software again. It refuse to locate my Wavelink XLR. Yes. I finally found a fix. Had to go the programfiles and locate a driver setup file. Found it in a YT video. That fixed it 😄
