I'm having lots of cutting out and audio dropping when recording my Xbox Gameplay through an ElGato HD60Pro. I've tried using Game Capture & OBS software but experiencing the same issues. Swapped out HDMI cables. Everything is updated. removed and reinstalled capture card. Kinda stuck. Anyone have similar issues or any ideas on how to help correct the audio dropping?

Audio levels on the mixer never seem to drop but once I go back to replay the final recorded video it's very choppy. No drops in gameplay at all aside from in the recordings.

It's possible it could be fixed, but we ourselves only do replacements and not repairs.

hey Andre, look around for phone repair shops near you. It's common they will take on a job like this and have the tools / experience necessary already. I would expect a cable replacement to cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $40-$50, depending on region / availability, if they're willing to take it on.

So before I saw your suggestion I was in the middle of downloading "voicemeeter" to see if I could pull just the sound through there and record it. It seemed to help cut down on the skips/lag/dropped audio but it was still happening slightly. Adjusted resolution to 720/30 and it was much better. So I tested a bit with Voicemeeter pulling audio and OBS video resolutions in 1080p 60/30 and dropping the frames to 30 while using voicemeeter together has almost eliminated the audio cutouts in some quick sample clips I took. I even tried uninstalling voicemeeter and using just OBS at 720/30 and there was still noticeable audio cutting out. So lowering my FPS seemed to have helped but not sure why I need to have Voicemeeter running to have somewhat clear audio...

Either way, it seems to be much more stable now so thank you!!

i sort of got it to work but now 18 hours in the future that explains my issue, thank you :) I thought i had gotten the calendar linking wrong. it's the first time i hear "iCal" and whenever i googled it it had to do with apple's calendar it seemed at first.

Yes, tried without voicemeeter in 720&1080/30fps it was better than when it was recording at 60fps but still noticeable skipping. With voicemeeter it's almost non existent in the clips I've tested so far.

Gonna record some more and review later to see how the recording quality is

So I recently bought a PS2 "Pound" cable in order to be able to upscale my ps2 resolution up to 720 and possibly be able to stream without it crapping out in OBS. I've run into an issue where it works however now I get this constant buzzing sound

i need help about elgato hd 60 s+. Both 4k capture ultility and obs recognise my elgato hd 60 s+ but both software keep showing me black screen. once i connect my nintendo switch output to my elgato input, and connected my elgato output to my monitor. my monitor showed my nintendo switch screen but my laptop still keep giving me black screen.

This could be noise introduced by the USB power on the device. Unfortunately, the cheaper scalers are prone to these types of issues. If you can, try plugging it into a USB power bank or another outlet and see if that solves the issue at all.

Not under $100, no. I don't have much experience with the options in that range. I would recommend the RetroTINK 2x Pro. It takes component in, so you'll get the best quality image, and it's a proper good upscaler. Retails for about $130 USD.

They also offer a cheaper $80 option that takes composite, which will work, just not look as good. But they are all high quality products and considered the best option if you aren't springing for an OSSC.

I have the Retrotink and have never had an audio buzz issue with them. I am especially confident in that product because I normally do deal with audio buzzing on analog sources with my setup. It's a hard thing to track down and fix.

So I have good indication that it's built well to handle these types of signals better. I think you'll be happy with it.

@astral oxide Well my initial issue was I was using a Kaiko component to HDMI, it was doing any sort of upscaling whatsoever and what ended up happening was it would work find in OBS for a bit and then eventually the screen would go black and it would stop working. I’m paraphrasing here but I was told the reason is because the PS2 changes resolution so often that it confuses most capture cards and an upscaler locks it at a consistent resolution to prevent this from happening. I haven’t used the pound cable long enough but so far it at least addresses that issue. I need the retro rink to solve both.

Yeah, the Tink is great at handling resolution swaps. It's a great thing to get, especially if you have more retro consoles you want to play.

Hey so recently I lost audio from the audio jack on my Wave 1. I relized that the my headphones were loose in the audio jack, so I just try to plug it back in, but still loose. When I picked the my mic to check the audio jack, I heard something moving inside of the Wave 1 mic when ever I shake it. I have no idea of what to do with it or how to fix it. To check whether your Wi-Fi is using the 5GHz or 2.4GHz channel on a Mac you simply need to click on the Wi-Fi icon in the top nav bar while holding down the Option/Alt key.

This will give you a bunch of information on your Wi-Fi, and in the middle it will show which channel your Wi-Fi is using right now.

The Wi-Fi card on Macs can connect to either 2.4 or 5 GHz wireless networks. There is no switch to disable which radio it can connect to. If the Wi-Fi router support simultaneous dual-band operation, and each band has a different wireless network name or BSSID, you can "force" your Mac to connect to either network by just choosing it from the Wi-Fi menu icon.

Heyo! I was wondering, is there a way to automate streamdeck to accept some UAC prompts? Like I want to have a multiaction to launch a bunch of software and SLOBS as admin among them, but it prompts the security window, that has to be accepted manually and ruins some of the other multi action steps.
Tried to set it up to press Left and Enter when the prompt appears but it doesn't work.
Any other ways I could make it happen?

and yes you do notice the quality, IT MATTERS, it needs to be higher. If I am trying to listen to multiple different things it washes the other sources out if one is louder.

yes, but what about your router? is your router setup for 2.4 if so you should be able to connect to your key light.

factory reset the light, and make sure your mobile is on wifi 2.4 use the mobile device to connect your keylight to your wifi 2.4 network, then use elgato app yo test the light, once done then you use your pc to use the stream deck or control center app for the light.

@crimson sapphire What kind of sound card do you have? I am not aware of any capture software that changes the audio hardware devices audio options in windows. It may add it's own audio device or change the default, but your audio device should still be there with all it's original options for bit depth.

Currently experiencing a very slow audio desync with my HD60 Pro and OBS/4k Capture Utility.

After about 30 minutes the audio will be about half a second behind causing me to deactivate and reactivate the capture card source to fix it each time. Any ideas?

The passthrough on the capture card works fine and has no audio delay whatsoever.

So, I've tried two different devices, and after going through official tech support (which wasn't successful) and attempting to a) update my USB drivers, b) use the 4k Utility, and c) switch out the cords, I haven't gotten my Elgato to work. It has been months.

It began as an error with it being unable to read the USB ports (asking for a 3.0 port). My laptop has a 3.1, and my desktop has a 3.0. Neither could be read. Absolutely nothing happened with the Utility on my laptop, but after updating the Utility on my desktop, not only can the Elgato no longer read anything ENTIRELY, but now the display on my TV has lost color, is overrun by static and flickering white bars, and no longer has any sound (and yes, I've used a regular PC monitor as well in the past, and it also didn't work).

I have absolutely no idea where to go from here.

The only reason we know the Elgato works is because another friend used it before I had the chance to, but he did nothing different. Plugged it in, and it worked with no hassle. Haven't been able to figure out the difference.

I have my wave at 15db, and gain lock on, enhanced filter, and clip guard. Start with that, and then adjust to your needs from there lower makes the background noises quiet, higher has more echo, and sound coming through, and could cause echo. just find a good balance, and then in routing stuff in wavelink, I can help tomorrow after work. It’s 2am so I’ off to sleepy land.

try factory resetting the key light, and try again. I’ve got 3 lights connected to control center. set them all up with my cell, then was able to use them on my pc, and streamdeck.

What your specs tell me is to get decent quality you’ll want to use your CPU to do the encoding. Your GPU isn’t going to produce good results with NVEC.

yeah, I've had issues with streaming PC games, but never with console ones. I'm using NVENC to stream and it's fine. recording is also fine with streamlabs, maybe the res wasn't at the best quality because it's not even 1080p when I stream (and I didn't change the output settings when recording). thanks for the help. you people are awesome

If you are using a dual pc setup, this software should be used on the gaming pc, just use pc-gaming, choose elgato on the top and choose your headset on the bottom

Then you will send your sound to your streaming pc while you can also hear the sound through your headphones

If you also want your microphone to be outputted, go to windows sound settings, click your microphone, check listen to device and choose elgato on the dropdown

Then your mic will be sent also

Hey guys i have the GameCaptureHD60Pro, it worked Perfect for 6Months, i changed the Power Adapter from my Computer and put a new SSD in. I have the Ps5, i the the picture on my PcMonitor but the HDMI Out Slot does Not give me an Picture on my Tv (i Love Playing on Tv, its so much More relaxed haha). The HDMI cables work, the hdmi Slot in my tv works, the Ps5 is connected with the Tv (when i Turn off the Tv the Ps5 goes in SleepMode) But NO picture…. So its an Software Problem anywhere or the OutSlot from the elgato has a Problem…. Any of u guys with a Solution? And sorry if there some Mistakes im german haha

unplug the hdmi cable and try again. mine oddly downscaled to 480p took the cables out, and reconnected them, then it worked like normal. if that doesn’t work, shut down the pc, take the capture card out, and see if another pcie slot is ideal, or use same pcie slot, but make sure it’s secure

Hey folks. I bought the weighted base and I was kind of hoping it can be used with the Key Light. I unscrewed the "clamp" part from the Key Light (the one that holds the pole on your desk). However it seems the part isn't properly aligned with the base. The holes are in a position that makes the pole be partially on top of the rubber. Also, one of the smaller screws that came with the base doesn't go in (though the other one does so it should be aligned).

Did I miss something? Is it even possible to use the weighted base directly with the Key Light without other accessories?

Hey guys! So I had the issue where all of sudden my audio was completely messed up, my sliders were what they were always at, but discord, games, and everything else was suddenly super loud. I did the 1.1.6 install that the website recommended, rebooted, then updated again, rebooted, plugged my mic back in, but now suddenly I cannot move my Stream Mix Slider without it being linked to the Monitor Mix, but when I move the Stream Mix Slider, it throws the Monitor Mix all the way to 0. Hi, I'm not sure if this is a Wave Link or Stream Deck issue or a combination of the two... but, quite frequently when the system is started from a cold boot or restarted the Wave Link integration does not always work. I have to quit both and relaunch then in different orders, sometimes quite a few times before it works again. I even have to sometimes restart the system for it work.

I'm using Stream Deck 5.1.2.14743 with firmware 1.0.191203 and Wave Link 1.4.0.2676 with firmware 1.2.1. This issue also happened with non-beta Wave Link.

I just bought the wave xlr and having problems with getting everything set up. I try connecting wave link to OBS but the two programs are not communicating with each other. The audio comes through the headphone mix but not the stream mix. Another issue I have is when I select to use headphones through the wave xlr, is gives me a message & also does it, it doubles my mic audio. One last thing that is giving me an issue, when I select my capture card (which is a Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4k) the audio comes in as if I am rapidly scanning radio stations. In OBS the audio is fine, but in wave link, it's not.

I am able to get everything connected and see the video through the 4K Capture program, however, when I go to another application, such as Google Chrome, my captured video freezes, and I have to unplug and replug the device. So, I am trying to set up the Wave Link on my new PC. I was able to get everything to work fine when I did this on my laptop a bit back but I forgot every single thing about the programs that I learned when I set everything up last time on my laptop because I have a trash memory lol. Anyways, I was able to download Wave Link and OBS and attached the Outputs of the separate Game and Music etc stuff to play through Wave Link and even did a test stream where all of the audio worked perfectly. The problem I have is that I can't get any of the audio that goes through The Wave Link software to play in my Headphones (They are Wireless Arctis Pro 7s). I don't know whether to set the output to Game or Chat and now any audio I play on my computer doesn't play through my headphones at all no matter what I do. I can test the master sound levels and it plays the ding like it usually does so I know the headphones are connected. I even reset all of the outputs to default to hopefully gain the ability to use my headphones at all but to no avail. No system on the computer can play audio through my headphone after I tried to set up Wavelink and I don't know how to fix it. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or how to fix this. Sorry for the lengthy bit, I just wanted to be thorough.

@south bronze Windows Server 2019 is WIndows 10 1809 based. So it MIGHT work unless the software refuses to install. But, I would imagine it does not meet the other requirements anyway. Plus Server 2019 is EOL anyway, so it would not be a very safe operating system to run on.

Key Light Wi-Fi is pretty awkward to be fair. It operates on 2.4GHz and rescan options are limited.

If you are finding it on your phone App (Elgato Control Center) then the light is working - its managed to connect to your wireless router and get an IP address (and your phone is connected to that same wi-fi to see it)

If you cant see / control it from your PC which is router connected via LAN, that suggests a routing issue between your Wi-Fi and Wired networks on the router.

Are you running Wi-fi or LAN on your PC? you shouldnt be running both unless you have particular setups as you will end up with dual IP addresses. If it is cable connected, disable the Wi-Fi whilst you troubleshoot

Hey guys, just trying to diagnose this issue, not sure if it's hardware or software related, just trying to cover all the bases. So I just recently upgraded to a Dual PC streaming setup, i have an elgato hd60s+ external capture card. However the footage that is being captured and previewed in SLOBS is 20> fps constantly and it's shown being 60fps (at least at the bottom of SLOBS). I was wondering if this is a SLOBS issue or a hardware issue so i know where to start looking. My computers are powerful enough to be doing this they have liike a 3070 and a 3060 respectively and a 5800X and a 5600X in them so i don't think that the problem is hardware, it's just the converted video fps is being cut down for some reason. On my gaming pc the fps is fine and it looks crystal clear, it's just when i see it in the streaming pc and in SLOBS preview, the frames drop significantly and is definitely not pleasing to the eyes. any help or ideas are appreciated. in your settings under ouptut is it advanced or is it simple, and also is your video downscale filter lanzcos? also i prefer to not use slobs, because obs runs faster without those hardware issues. honestly slobs is nice intro for obs, but obs is so vanilla, and customizable, it's in my opinion better to use. i've always felt slobs to be a bit buggy, and slow.

So I've been trying to stream from my PS2 for a long time now and finally put in the money to buy a "Retro tink 2X pro"..to my dismay however, the feed will random but to black and force me to restart the program to get it to work again. This has been extremely agonizing..on the site it said they don't reccomend their products with elgato capture cards but I know people who have used them with elgatos with no issues whatsoever. Also I'm using the Elgato HD 60 S+

Currently experiencing trouble with the HD60 S. There's a constant popping/crackling sound that, thought it doesn't seem to appear on the audience's end of recorded/streamed content, for me it is constant and grating to the point of anxiety inducing. I'm plugged into the proper ports and all settings are as they should be for PlayStation 4, but the popping persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately this is just a problem that you'll have to deal with if you continue to use Elgato cards with the Retrotink. And to be clear, it isn't the fault of the Tink so much as it is the Elgato cards just don't like nonstandard refresh rates and resolution switching a lot (which older consoles will do mid-game pretty commonly). The only thing I can really suggest here is confirm the game's original resolution and the resolution you're upscaling to, and set it manually in the settings. In addition, in the source properties in OBS, check the box that says (something like) "Deactivate when not in use" and set yourself a hotkey to quickly deactivate and reactivate it when you encounter the issue.

The thing is I'd almost be willing to deal with the problem if there was a way for me to fix the feed somehow i.e unplugging it and plugging it back in or something along those lines, I just can't have it black out and then force me to completely restart OBS altogether. Is there an affordable capture card you recommend that you know might be more compatible with retro consoles or to put it more specifically consoles with nonstandard refresh rates?

I Just purchased a 4k 60 Pro for my PC. I have an Xbox Series X and when going into my 1440P monitor, It gives me the option to change my refresh rate from 60Hrz to 120Hrz. When I rout it through the 4K pro, I am only able to see the 1440p resolution and it only plays at 60Hrz. Any help on getting it to play at 1440p and 120 Hrz?

Hi guys, I am trying to stream the original nintendo through the 4k m.2 everything works fine but the audio, i am currently using an rca in to hdmi output converter, when i set it up in obs live. i see the audio meter from the nes working but i don't hear any sound

@open vale You need to enable some sort of monitoring. Easiest way (imo) is to click the this icon in the audio mixer on OBS.

Go to Advanced Audio Properties, and change your capture card input to "Monitor and Output" or "Monitor Only (mute output)" depending on your setup.

Monitor and Output will play the cap card audio in stream as well as pump it through your default audio device (headphones, speakers, etc). This can cause double audio if whatever you listen to your sounds through is the same desktop audio source that stream hears. If that's the case, just change it to Monitor Only.

So, I already asked y'all about my issue where the Arctis Pro headset doesn't connect to Wave Link and the solution I was provided with was to connect the headset directly to the mic with the cable that came with the Arctis Pros. Even though this works, I would like to know if there is any way to get the Arctis Pros to connect through the Transmitter Base Station so I can use them wirelessly. I've been having so much trouble trying to get my Arctis Pro wireless headset working with Wave Link. I can find the Arctis Wireless Pro Game and Chat sources in Wave Link but when I connect them, no audio goes through my headset at all no matter what. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Again, I only have this issue when it is wireless, while everything works fine when I have the headset wires, I'm sure there has to be a way to connect the headphone to Wave Link Wirelessly through the Base Station

I have the need for several cameras in my setup, but also have the need for a capture device since I use a 2 PC setup for my streams. I was wondering whether I can use the Cam Link Pro with the 4 inputs to act as both the place I can plug in my cameras as well as to send my game play from my gaming machine to my streaming machine? I currently have the 4k60 Pro to handle my game play from gaming to streaming, but I only have 1 slot in my stream machine available, so I need to find a solution that can replace the current capture card. Have any of you guys experienced an issue where Elgato Camlink 4k only outputs audio, etc. and can grab the proper source resolution but displays a pure black screen. I am trying to set up my Sony ZV-1 as a webcam via cam link and I can't get it to output any video information. The 4k capture utility just shows nothing. I've tried numerous different USB 3.0 ports, and am currently on a 3.1 and no dice. I heard it could be a USB bandwidth issue so I literally unplugged all my usb devices from the back of my computer and still nothing... It only received audio data and source resolution information.

ok, if not uninstall 4k capture utility, shut down the pc. remove the capture card, turn pc back on, install the software 4k capture utility, then shut down. Install the capture card to a different pcie slot, see if any changes. Also, before doing all that, swap out your hdmi cables, see if any changes.

Look at this image. Can you tell me which one represents how you have the capture card hooked up? (The 'cables' in the image are your HDMI/DisplayPort cables, not the USB)

That's why. Your capture card is seen by the gaming PC as a third monitor. Ideally, you'd want it set up like number 2, so your capture card is capturing, and then passing through to the monitor, the same image you're seeing. Does that make sense?

Inside of the 'Game Capture' Software from elgato is a program that is called Elgato Sound Capture, you will have to adjust that accordingly

and HD60s is certainly compatibile

did you downoad and try the '4k capture utility' which is listed on the site ?

maybe the HDMI cable doesnt deliver sound.. SOME of them do not

Does anyone know why the Series X plugged straight into my monitor has no issues allowing me to set the resolution to 1440P as well as 120Hz but the moment I attempt to rout a capture card, HDMI switcher, or the Astro HDMI adapter within this configuration, it tells me that my display will not allow me to run 1440p at 120 Hz. All of the HDMIs I am using are high speed and all of the equipment is able to have 4K 120 HZ Passthrough. Does anyone have an Idea of what I am missing?
