Youre trying to use a macbook with an HD60 Pro? No. That will not work. You need an external capture card like the HD60 S or HD60 S+

Seems to be HDCP then. Once you find a way to disable it, it should work with your capture card.

It checks to see if you have a stream deck first. Otherwise it won't work.

AND you would have to have the EXACT same hardware. So whats the point? you can't make one as cheap as you can buy one.

you most likely will never get Elgato's firmware to run on whatever hardware you are trying to use unless it is identical to the Stream Deck hordware (PCB, etc). You might be able to get the Stream Deck Hardware to run on a custom firmware. But, if you don't already understand how to interface serially with a piece of hardware to load it, I doubt this is an endeavor worth taking. But good luck either way!

correct me if I'm wrong, even if it's it reverse engineering, he'd have to know exactly the parts etc... coding, just to mimic it, and basically is stealing and legality isn't fun for anyone. unless he wrote his own code, and developed a product to rival it, unless personal use, then a diy solution but identical to elagto maybe ok. still mobile is way more affordable.

So I have been having this issues the past few nights. I use a HD60s+ to stream my switch through OBS. I have the HD60s+ set as a source for audio and capture. The last two nights about an hour in I will lose all game audio. Everything else is still working (capture, mic, desktop audio) If I close out OBS and reboot the audio comes back but only for a short time. CAN ANYONE HELP?!? I stream full time so this really puts a hiccup in my days.

try using the 4k utilities and adjust the settings to 1080 p 30 or 60 lower the bitrate to 40mbps

see if the problem persists

If it doesn't keep freezing, you can start raising those settings up.

You can also try just turning off HDR

I'm using the HDMI Audio output through the HD60 S+. I've tried the Analog output with the same results. I've even tried plugging a 3.5mm Aux cable from the headphone port on my monitor to the Line-In on my computer and it's even worse there.

Bios is updated. Using an AMD X570 motherboard, just recently updated the BIOS which fixed my Elgato products losing signal every now and then

Sup everyone, quick question about a dual PC setup. I have a streaming PC and a gaming PC hooked up to my elgato hd60s. I would also like to include my 2 consoles, an xbox and ps5. How would I go about doing so? would I be able to use an HDMI splitter some how or do i have to manually change up the cables every time I want to play one of my consoles? or buy a second hd60s? having a hard time figuring this one out. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think I found the issue, no solution to fix it; but I think I found a temporary work-around for the time being. Basically, it seems that the Digital Audio Output on my HD60 S+ is introducing some sort of interference through HDMI that's difficult to fix. So what I did was I set up my Switch's audio output to instead go through OBS Studio directly and then set OBS Studio's audio output to my Wave XLR's Aux 1 input. I'm testing it now to see if it's introducing any sort of latency but I think I've found the work-around for the time being.

Nevermind on that. Even if I have OBS set to my Aux 1 input that won't change the fact that OBS will always monitor the Switch directly

I figured out my issue. The beta release of 1.4 for the Wave Link software is causing the issue with crackling in the Digital Audio Interface. I've reverted back to 1.3 and haven't had any issues with crackling since doing so. So I'll just have to wait until a stable release is available for 1.4.

Hi everyone, I'm looking to possibly purchase an Elgato capture device but I'm not sure which one would serve my purposes or if it would even work with my setup. I would like to screen share my Nintendo Switch through Discord to some friends (not interested in streaming on Twitch) but I only have a pretty weak MacBook Air. In the end it was because I had just the HD60s and not the HD60 S+, The HD60 needs you to install something else and add the game capture as an NDI source, this isn't really explained anywhere. So I have switched it for the S+ which works perfectly out of the box without any extra installs. Thanks for trying to help anyway.

yes, with HS60S it's recommended to use NDI. One of the reasons I also upgraded from it. The HD60S+ is plug and play. I prefer simple, but glad you upgraded.

sometimes it's the cables, or some settings, bios/drivers, or just switching a port. sometimes it's also a power bandwidth issue. you could try a few things, like changing cables, see if it helps.

I've run into a weird problem with my HD60S recently. A few weeks ago now I streamed my old ps3 through it and didn't like the picture settings, but there's no option for brightness/contrast/saturation on the ps3 itself so I did it through device properties > configure video > video proc amp in OBS itself (not the OBS filters). Much like with configuring webcams the same way, the next time I booted my PC those settings would be forgetten and back to the default... except now!!

now when I boot eveyrthing up it's using the brightness/contrast/saturation from a random setup weeks ago, so I have to open OBS, navigate again to device properties > configure video > video proc amp and click the defaults button

again this isn't a filter applied to the capture card source

any ideas why it's started doing this? I wish it would instead do it for my C922 lmao

it's got nothing to do with OBS. the settings seem to be saved to the capture card itself. I just accessed the capture card's video settings through OBS, same as you do through Game Capture HD. resetting them to default there didn't solve anything either. when I restarted my PC, the passthrough to my gaming monitor was back to the 'custom' picture settings.

it's like it thinks these 'custom' settings from a few weeks ago are the default all of a sudden lol

so elgato’s software usually sets up before using obs. ex: audio is hdmi, but want to use party chat with chatlink, elgato’s software you have to change to analog, and then use in obs. so same concept, try resetting to defaults in elgato’s software vs. obs, and then launch in obs.

I’ve already done this and the issue remained. When I boot my PC and the capture card starts sending a signal to my passyhrough monitor, it has the picture settings from weeks ago on by default. if I open Game Capture HD, the card does then change to the proper default settings. But this is the problem. Why does the card default to these custom settings when I boot my PC now? And why all of a sudden?? Like I said, I used these settings ONCE weeks ago. Then this week I boot my PC and it all of a sudden remembers these custom settings and defaults to them. Where did they come from, where were they stored, and why have they popped up after weeks of not being used/changed lol

Hey. I have a question about my Elgato HD60 S+. So on the box it shows the light bar going all the way across the capture card but on the actual Elgato Card itself it doesn’t go all the way across.

I have, issues with my HD60 Pro, my computer messed up and had to reinstall windows, and now it won’t detect the hd60 pro in OBS or the 4K capture utility.

Maybe you might need to reboot your pc and take the capture card out but I contacted someone through phone and they may have had a redesign for the capture card but they aren’t to sure.

I had that issue when I first ordered my Elgato. I wasn’t getting signal but I troubleshooted it and it works amazingly now.

I only have 1 Pc and 1 Monitor and I'm having it all run through it but when I try to stream my Switch say, it just streams my pc desktop screen with no option to share my switch despite being connected and on.

I Have an Elgato HD60s+, Everytime when i plugged it in and Stream or Record my Videos. My PC Would Lag Horribly and At times even Randomly Shuts down my PC. Hi all. I kind of having an issue with Elgato Wave Link. I set it up in a way that Wave system is my defatult Output and Elgato Mic In as Input. But every time I restart my computer for whatever reason the monitor thing would unmute itself and I would hear my mic. I usually set it to mute in Elgato wave link. The weird thing is when I go to elgato it is MUTED and for me to fix the issue I have to press unmute and mute it again.

Anyone know how to fix this? I am also using the version which I can add VST.

Lovely. Going to plug it in and while plugging it in, I tripped and bent all the little pins in the connector. Now it won’t pick up signal. It keeps flashing red when I plug it in and it doesn’t show up in my software. Awesome. Time to order a new one.

Hello, i was wondering if it is possible to somehow use macbook as streaming pc. I was using my old PC with windows for streaming, but it looks like that right now the performance is not enough for both streaming and playing games. I want to buy new macbook mainly for my work, because i actually need to use Adobe AE, Premiere Pro and 3d software and be able to take it anywhere with me. I've came to an idea to use this macbook as streaming PC and connect it with ElgatoHD60 S+ to Windows PC. I was looking for someone using same setup but found nothing except some connection problems between two systems. Is there anyone with experience with this setup? I just want to make sure that this setup is possible and i can still use my old PC for playing and continue with streaming.

Source is 1080p60 -- I'm recording at 1080p30 @ 30.00Mbps

With the hardware I have and the way I have everything setup, should I be able to record video at that speed/size?

I'm continuously getting "lag" spikes and/or frame drops in my recordings that I'm not experiencing while playing in game. At first I was recording at 1080p60 @ 40Mbps and thought maybe it was the 60fps and higher bitrate. But even after lowering to 30fps @ 30Mpbs I'm still experiencing the same spikes in video recording. It's having an affect on both the audio/video being recorded.

Any ideas?

I'm using double pc stream. On my streaming pc i have elgato 4K60 PRO mk2 and camlink 4k for sony a 7III. Streaming pc is 10900k, 1080, 32gb ddr4, rog maximus formula xii motherboard on both pc
Sometimes my camera turing off. I checked it on my main pc, there's no problem with camlink itself. but when i'm using it on streaming pc it cause shutting down with artifacts sometimes. I thought maybe it overheat issue, but i attached additional cable so camlink wont overheat(it was in camilink box). And now i'm losing signal from my gaming pc - 4k60 pro turns off or smth like this idk (NO signal mistake)

I recently unplugged my setup and brought it to my brother's house, taking pictures beforehand so that I knew what cords went where (essentially I just unplugged and replugged everything), and now my Elgato HD60S appears to be refusing my USB 3.0. I've sent a ticket, but figured I'd check here in the mean time for help.

TLDR:
Elgato capture software and OBS both show that my device is not plugged into a USB 3.0 (It is), Black screen on capture software, popping static audio (cursed ASMR).

Yes. My game feed is visible on my TV through the capture card, so the capture card must be properly relaying what the console is telling it to my television, just not to my laptop.

I just made sure they were connected properly, just to be sure, and they are.

Having issues with setting up my stream, I am using a PS5, with the Elgato HD60S+ and Streamlabs OBS. For starters, I'm unable to download any updates to the HD60S+, as everytime I open 4K Capture Utility, I get an error message when it tries to download or find any updates. Secondly, I am able to get video from the PS5 to SLOBS, however, no sound - despite changing sound to analogue where required etc. - Anyone able to help?

I usually see it in TV's but not in monitors. I think one person had a similar issue. unplugged the capture card, rebooted, shutdown, and then replugged the capture card.

1) Please try Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro in another PCIe slot on your Motherboard.
2) Make sure your Motherboard BIOS is up to date (please contact your Motherboard Manufacturer for help and on how to update the BIOS).
3) Try it with a Cold Boot:
- Shut down the PC and disconnect the power cord from the power supply for 30 seconds
- Press the Power button for a brief second to unload any leftover energy that may have resided

Both 15-key Stream Decks require USB 2.0 ports (plugging it into USB 3.x will cause issues) and must be plugged directly into the motherboard.

Heyo, I just recently purchased the Wave 3, as in yesterday, but i have a problem with the mic.
I can get absolutely no audio through it, the input bars don't even turn green in the Wave Link software...
same thing happens when i try going through the sound settings on my pc, nothing...
When I use my headset via USB (Logitech PRO X) I can't even listen to the playback of my own voice,
which I can if I plug the same headset in via jack at the back of the wave 3, but I lose all other sound from my pc.
But I still get no green bars in Wave Link with the jack connection. I have tried multiple setup guides for the wave 3, but none seem to work/help.
I have also tried setting all my pc sound/recording settings the same as some of the guides, and still, nothing...
Really hope anyone in here can help me, if not just a little bit, dm me, if need be c:

I kinda ended up giving up on the pass through.

No matter what I did, unless I set my capture on both the HD60 Pro and 4K60 Pro to 60hz it wouldn’t pass though the signal at anything above that.

I want the ability to play at 120hz and the only solution I had was getting a HDMI Matrix that split the signal sending a 120hz signal to my monitor and then sending a 60hz 1080p signal to the capture card.

Hey guys, I have a 4k60 S+. When I am streaming it will work great for several hours then with out warning it will stop communicating with my computer. I will then have to stop the stream and unplug everthing for a few minutes so that it can reset and begin working again. Anyone heard of this and know of a fix?

I need help getting the Stream Deck MK.2 running on my 2020 M1 Mac. I bought this a few months back and got it working on my old personal MacBook pro and windows 10 PC. I want to use this on my work laptop but was told by Elgato Support that because my company uses Jamf Connect I will not be able to use the stream deck on my machine. The problem exists for both the stream deck and stream deck mobile. Button presses have no effect.

Hi, not sure if this issue had been resolved and I have lodged a ticket with the website but figured id try here too.....

I just got my Elgato HD60 S + set up with my PS5 and after installing the capture utility software ive notice the playback is doing this sort of flickering in a zooming in and out fashion. I have tried swapping HDMI cables and changing resolutions of both the monitor and console but its still doing it, I have noticed that when in full screen mode it doesn't happen however when I open OBS it does flicker every once in a while on OBS playback.

So I have a dual pc set up and I obviously capture my gaming pc using a 4k60 mk.2 and I used to use a HD60s to capture my camera and that all worked sweet

I have wanted to try playing some Xbox so I used the HD60s on the gaming pc and that works playing Xbox the 4k60 mk2 captures that all sweet and I have it on my streaming pc

Now I went and purchased a cam link to capture my camera now it doesn't register the camera

If I go into the 4k utilities program change the selected device from the 4k60 to the cam link the device flashes then continues to capture the gaming pc and the hd60s

I've tried using another micro hdmi to hdmi cord

I've installed game capture HD program and still nothing works

Hi, I use a capture card (Elgato 4k60pro) to capture clean HDMI from my dslr camera (sony a6300). This typically works fine if I just started my PC. However, after a while (usually after sleeping the PC and cam a couple of times) the video gets distorted (see pic below). The only way I can "fix" or restore it to how it should look, is by doing a complete restart of my PC. I'm not sure whether this is related to Windows, my camera, OBS, or my capture card. But I'm trying to narrow down the suspects to hopefully solve this problem.

Things I've tried that do not work:

• Restart camera
• Plug in and out HDMI cable from capture card
• Restart OBS
• Re-add the video capture device within OBS

Hello, my elgato hd60 doesn't work properly on my new pc... If i connect it to my crappy laptop it gets recognised by the elgato software. On the other hand, when i connect it to my new desktop pc with rtx 3060 ti and amd ryzen 9 5900x, the software doesn't recognise it

i followed some steps of the guide on how to fix it, like i shut down all the hardware and unplugged everything attached to my usb port. I tried changing usb port for my elgato but nothing changed

hi, I have an acer x34 monitor and I'm trying to get 1440p60 to work with a series s and 4k60 pro mk.2. It looks like my monitor doesn't advertise 1440p60 via hdmi. If I connect a PC and create a custom resolution for 1440p60 everything works fine. If I connect the xbox directly and try override the resolution to 1440p I get a black screen. If I connect the console to the 4k60 pro mk2 and use the merged EDID I can capture at 1440p60 but still can't see anything on screen. Any way to fix this?

When i stream on twitch on a dual PC from Elgato 4K60 Pro and once every few days it will randomly show sparkles of white dots everywhere as if my stream is dying. i don't see it when im gaming on my game pc only on twitch when streaming. any solutions?

I have a sony A6400 and I have it plugged into a camlink 4k... For some reason every 10 minutes or so my camera freezes on stream... no, 3.2 is usually backwards compatible with 3.0. Try a different port. Also make sure your motherboard has it enabled. Some mothers may need a bios/drivers update.

I recently got the Elgato HD60S+, trying to get a dual pc-mac stream going using SLOBS, I have everything going but I'm having trouble with audio. Particularly it seems that in-game audio is passing through my mic as if I were talking? I can't figure it out, everytime I go to 'Sound Capture' elgato program, and navigate to 'Team Chat' the second I click it, the program closes itself. Is this common? Fix? Re-download?

It was recording one video with audio when I would start it up, but then when I would attempt a second video, there was no audio and I didn’t change any settings. Then sometimes it was delayed almost 7 seconds.
