here's what one person did to solve their issue which initially was the lights on their wave mic going out but was stream output as well, it may require uninstalling wavelink all over again, removing wave mic, reboot, install software (1.2), follow prompts (dont plug in mic until youre instructed to do so).

Hello! I apologize for this very trivial question, but this stuff really isn't at all my area of expertise and I could use some help:

I'd like to replace the USB-C cable that came with my HD60 S+ with a longer one. I tried a 15' cable I had lying around, but it apparently wasn't up to spec; probably 2.0 or something?

If anyone has any suggestions for a long (ideally 15ft) replacement USB cable that will work with the HD60 S+, I'd greatly appreciate it. To be honest, I don't even know what spec to search for in the first place 🤦, and after trying one cable that looked correct but wasn't, I'm not confident that I will pick out the correct cable on Amazon.

So, regarding the facecam freezing for anyone else that has the issue. I tried several fixes today, with many not working, so here's what DID work for me:

1.) Updated firmware (weird note here: Does anyone else update it, but then it says a different update from what it's going to? Tried updating a second time and the new update failed, so I'm not sure what that is all about)

2.) I lowered quality to 720p 30fps. Not sure if the firmware update or this was what actually solved the issue, but I went from freezing up after about 10 minutes each time to not freezing at all after about 2 hours now.

Hi, I'm struggling really hard with screen-tearing. ( see attached pic). I'm running Elgato HD60 Pro connected from GPU to (Input) and GPU to Monitor. I've got my screen cloned from 244hz main screen to Elgato with Nvidia Control Panel. I can record fine but I'm getting this terrible screen tearing

could this be cause it's cloning from a 244hz into a 60hz? And that causes it to refresh faster than it should

So when I set my main screen to 60hz it seems to remove the screen tear, does anyone know a workaround so I can still use 244hz and somehow record the cloned screen at 60hz?

Alright I found a fix that worked for me. Instead of using the Nvidia Control Panel to clone the image from 1st screen to Elgato, I split them back up to act like 2 screens and used the windows option of (Windows button + P) and duplicated it like this. The screen-tearing is now gone. Hope this can help someone out there 🙂

Okay, back in your properties if you change it from capture audio only to desktop audio it should all output to the desktop audio channel of your mixer and you can just mute “elgato” in the mixer. Does that remove your double audio?

okay, Im not sure what all is involved with your obs scenes, but I'd suggest setting up a new scene collection, name it HD60 test and just keep it bare bones with the HD60s setup as such and see if you still get double audio:

this should help determine if its the hd60s producing the double audio or something else in your configuration

Hey there amazing elgato community. Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge on the 4k60 pro MK2.
Recent power outage killed my stream pc and when it came back online it's not detecting my gaming pc, I think it could be an edid issue.
The 4k capture utility works fine with my switch but nothing on PS4 or PS5 and nothing for my gaming pc. Also pass through just straight up isn't working on any console.
I've tried all edid settings and restarted pc many times, made sure I'm on the latest firmware and everything, so I'm throwing it out to you guys. If you have any ideas I'd be greatfully appreciative because I would love to stream tonight.

Anyone know how to resolve camera drivers being unavailable on Facecam? Unplugged and replugged after it froze up, and now the device shows up like this and won't connect anywhere.

Its not listed in their list of drivers on their website, at least not in the section I found.

Edit: Also tried the reinstalling drivers the manual way through removing device, rebooting PC, and plugging back in. This did not resolve my issue.

Someone had issues with an HD60 Pro, unrelated issue, but take your capture card out of your pc, uninstall the software, reboot your pc, reinstall the software, then power it off. then install capture card, see if that fixes it. also make sure your bios/drivers are updated

I've tried both ways; Original way when I installed it was camera first, then hub. Since the crash issue, I've restarted a couple times, trying it in different orders.

Contacted their support; they asked their tech team and none of them had ever seen this error before, so they're sending me a diagnostics tool. Gonna run it and hopefully they can get some info out of it at least.

I understand you may have done something similar after but if it were me Id uninstall everything remove my facecam, and then restart my pc, let it fully boot and then download and install hub, and follow the guide from there.

Heya, I've always been struggling with poor quality on my monitor with the elgato passthrough. The HDMI cable is working fine, but the capture card seems to be outputting a really poor quality. It initially worked. It had the issue following a crash after freezing. Prior to that, it would work (though with the freezing and desync issues others have had). I've tried multiple ports, and it's occupying a full port by itself. In the second computer I tried it on, it was the only thing physically plugged in. I do have the support case open now. I've sent them diagnostics. Just hoping that if it's bricked it gets replaced sooner rather than later.

Camera Hub already has the latest upon install. Camera itself can no longer be accessed in its current state, as it shows up as Cx3-UVC instead of Elgato Facecam. Doesn't show up anywhere, including the hub software

so it may be like what happens with capture cards, where it shows up as a different device than what it should be, which means it will not recognize it at all. best you can do is open a support ticket, and have elgato replace it, with the rma process. I'm sure they will since it's fairly new.

I still cannot record 60 fps with the Elgato Game Capture HD capture card (first generation) with composite cables. It says that it outputs 60 fps both in OBS and in Elgato's software, but in the recorded video files it says 30 fps. I even get 60 fps pass-through when I plug in an HDMI cable to HDMI out and to my TV.
Is it just not possible to record 60 fps with that card? I thought it could record 60 fps even at 720p.

Hello just recently starting having audio issues with elgato 4k capture utility , the audio starts fine after a few seconds to a minute it will start to play in and out (music/audio plays for a second and goes off and on ).

If I do listen to this device in audio it works without problems but on the application itself it stops 😦

My 4k60 Pro Mk2 has an audio delay that is noticeable. How do I get rid of this audio delay? Everything is sent via the HDMI cable. There shouldn't be an audio delay unless it's an issue with the elgato wave link software.

Before when I would have my camera on and would create a source projector the camera wouldn't appear and wouldn't block my way but now it does. I only adjusted the size and now it's blocking my way completely

Last we checked this was an issue with 1.3 installation, I'd suggest uninstalling wavelink, removing your mic from the usb input, shut down, reboot, install wavelink and follow the prompts until your asked to plug in the mic. If this doesnt work maybe revert back to 1.2

Hi! Anyone else experienced issues with the CamLink Pro? I've been having 'freezing' issues in OBS for a couple of weeks. All visible sources would seem to freeze for a moment and them come back to life, anywhere between 4 and 35 second intervals. After deleting all of my OBS info and reinstalling, the issue was still there even on just one camera plugged into the CamLink Pro. So I took that out of my PC, popped in a HD60 Pro and the issue went away. No more freezing. Interestingly, the HD60 Pro had the exact same freezing issue when the CamLink pro was installed, but works fine when the CamLink Pro isn't in the system. Releived to have solved the issue but gutted to be down to one camera when I'm used to running four.

Hey guys and gals, I am in need of some help. I have a Wave:1 mic the is plugged into speakers. The speakers are using a TRRS adapter to allow me to use my mic on the pc and my headset on my console. The issue is that the people I am playing with using in game audio are saying that they hear an echo of themselves. Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this? I have a stream deck XL and every time I try and add a Visual Studio Code command it completely freezes up. Both software and hardware becomes unresponsive. I am using the versions for both stream deck and VSCode found in their respective market places and in VSCode it says Deck Connected | Active.
Anyone with similar issues or with a solution?

I have it and I really like it. I used to use a logitech C922 webcam, and the facecam is better. The software is easier to use and I feel the picture quality is better. I use it for work calls though so there is a lot of natural light which I am sure helps.
I did, however, have some initial issues. The camera would freeze after a couple of seconds, but after moving it to a different USB 3 connector that went away, and then it wouldn't save the configuration, but that was solved by a forced firmware update.
All in all I am very pleased with it so far.

I think it is either the capture card itself or possibly the fact that my stream pc doesn't have an ssd 😂 I just built it yesterday and since my state went into lockdown I couldn't pick one up. I guess I will have to try again in a week when I get an ssd.

the audio when you setup your capture card, usually is in the audio mixer, if not you may have to setup as an audio input. then in the audio mixer, propertied, monitor and output. Also make sure your monitoring device is your headset.

@fickle pulsar Okie dokie. After doing more and more tests and going through EVERY and I mean EVERY single reddit and elgato support thread I could find I finally THINK I fixed my issue. The first thing I found that helped quite a lot was updating to the latest firmware ( I KNOW OKAY OMG WHY DIDN'T YOU DO THIS BEFORE).
Well it isn't so easy, since the firmware you download from the elgato site actually isn't up to date and there isn't an update button in the 4k capture utility, at first. In order to update it, you open the utility, HOLD DOWN CTRL whilst opening the settings, once it's open you can stop holding control. Go to device and there it is, the fkn update button.

That helped but I still had the issue. I then disconnected my monitor from my pc and used the 4k60 pro mk.2 as my monitor. By that I mean treating my pc as a console 🤮 😂 I plugged my pc into the IN on the capture card and used the OUT to my monitor, keep this in mind you HAVE TO USE A HDMI 2.0 MONITOR. I used my ultrawide and made it 2560x1440. The strange thing is 144hz kinda worked but 120hz is where smoothness worked flawlessly. I set the EDID mode to internal and set resolution to 1440p. THIS WORKED YAYAYYYYYY

But since I personally have an ultrawide I had black bars on the sides, since I payed for an ultrawide I want to use an ultrawide. I decided to use the ultrawide as my second screen for chat, discord ect.

Now I tried to CLONE my 1080p 144hz monitor with the elgato (since my 1080p monitor doesn't have HDMI 2.0) and for the most part it worked. Set the EDID to 1080p Internal and you're good to go. I still think 120hz would've worked better but my monitor doesn't do that.
Long story short, PASS-THROUGH IS BETTER THAN CLONING. If you have a HDMI 2.0 monitor.

Long ass message, but maybe someone could repost it with the title something like "If you're 4k60pro/mk.2/hd60pro footage isn't looking smooth with high refresh rates." and pin it? Idk but this helped A LOT

I've just done a Windows reinstall and since then i can't get my camera working in some capps via Camlink 4K.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers a few times, restart PC, done all windows updates, motherboard updates/drivers, unplugged the Camlink and plugged back in etc
It worked before without issues so it's not compatability issues.
Works in Discord and OBS but not Snapcam which i thought might be a Snapcam issue so followed all steps to get it work in there including uninstalling, installing odler versions and CamLink does show as an option but no resolution settings so thats when i tried Windows Camera and it won't show in there either.

Wanting it through Snapcam for the filters for my stream but also because it lets me use the camera in multiple apps at once.
I might have done other things i forgot to mention.
Anyone got any ideas?

I write to Elgato Support and this is the solution!

1. To troubleshoot the issue, let's start by completely uninstalling the Elgato Stream Deck software. If you have any profiles you would like to save, please make sure to export them before you uninstall the software or they will be deleted. Then disconnect your Stream Deck from the USB port.

2. Once you have uninstalled the Stream Deck software on your computer please go in and delete this file as well. C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Elgato\StreamDeck

3. You will want to delete the entire folder to remove all residual files.

4. After you uninstall the software, go ahead and reinstall it using the latest version from our website and then import your profiles again.You can find the latest version here:https://www.elgato.com/en/gaming/downloads

5. Then please reconnect your Stream Deck device to a different USB 3.0 port than previously connected too.

Please change your current power plan in your OS to "Performance" if it is not already set.

4. If there is an option here to select High Performance, select that and you're done

@fickle pulsar Hey Vics, So after I updated my bios and reinstalled drivers it worked for a day.. Until I turned off my PC and now today It doesn't work again. Same issue, When I press Record it doesn't start recording.. When I restart the Game Capture it records for 5 seconds and stops again.. And If I keep trying it records, but the timer goes from 0 to 2 then 8 then 12 and the recording is corrupted during movements.

I've tried 2 different HDMI, it's a HD60Pro. I've tried reinstalling, updating BIOS

It's really frustrating at this point, that it works flawlessly and then suddenly just stops.

I just wish it had some sort of a log or something that one could look at why it's doing that :/

my PC specs are:

Motherboard: ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING (Newest non-beta BIOS)
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8086K CPU @ 4.00GHz

Hey @fickle pulsar, So I've been testing more since yesterday, any reinstalls didn't work for Elgato Game capture, but I tried running with OBS. There I couldn't even record my desktop, as everything I recorded would just end up being dark. But then I installed Xsplit Broadcaster and literally every single issue was gone, it records in 1920x1080 @ 60fps without issues, and no screen-tearing or anything.

which kinda shows that maybe it's a software issue rather than an issue with my hardware or the HD60 Pro

but I don't really want to pay for Xsplit either, as it seems unecessary when Elgato Game Capture and OBS should be more than enough

I'd be guessing it's the normal audio interruption you get from a jack @mighty mica . You can try to use a different Jack, maybe buying a more expensive one that would transition the sound better.

Hello. I just bought the Stream Deck XL for my podcast and im running into a small issue. I am running the Deck through my laptop, that has my Zoom LiveTrak mixer linked to it via the microphone port...and whenever I play a soundclip, the beginning part of it is always cut off. What could be the issue? For example if I have a clip that says "HELLO!"...then it would play "ELLO!"

im directly connected to the laptop

This is my setup. The Elgato is connected to the laptop. The Zoom podcast mixer is connected to the laptop too via the microphone jack. The sound from the laptop outputs to the Zoom like its supposed to, but like I stated the clips are cut off at the beginning. I notice that this happens if you wait a few seconds. If you play the clip, then play it again immediately thereafter, it plays fully...even if I play other clips in succession theres no cut off/lag. Its only if it "sits" more than a few seconds.

it makes me feel like it's having to "load" the clip up first before its played but once you play it, then its "saved" in its temporary cache for a few seconds, which is why its able to playback normally. Sorry if im not very clear but this is the best way I can explain whats happening

Quick question here (hopefully a quick answer) I have 2 keylights that are being controlled by my stream deck. They both used to work find, however now in the streamdeck software when i try and select "keylight left" OR "keylight right" both buttons are only making the left keylight turn on/off. Also the "keylight all" button is doing the same thing.

The right keylight is connected, and can be controlled by my pc (control centre) and my app, but just not from the streamdeck button. Any idea of the fix for this? I've tried resetting and re-pairing both keylights already.

okay lets back this up a bit, you've got the hd60 added in obs, double click it go into properties and select configure video, set it to hdmi audio:

plug your headphones into your pc headphone port

your hd60 should be in your mixer list, right click select advanced properties and make sure the hd60s is set to monitor and output

what is your download/upload typically like? also, I know unless you boost a server two times you wont get "HD streaming" so keep that in mind too

Hey I have a quick question regarding software updates for the 4k Capture utility. Currently when I go to open it, a software update screen pops up. However, all of the buttons are off screen and I cannot resize the window to make it so those buttons appear for me to be able to click them, so I am unable to accept the update. I also cannot close the window (no X or minimize or other option for the window) and exiting the program and reopening it does not cause the window to go away. I assume a manual download and install of the update would work, but it seems very silly that there is no way for me to accept the automatic update or get the window to go away.

Hey people hope you're having a good day! I have a question about audio. I am currently using the Steelseries Arctis pro + Gamedac as my headset, however I have found out that because I need to change my output device on the PS5 to "HDMI Device (TV) I am actually losing out on tons of audio quality. Is there any fix for this? I am currently playing Siege and sound is super important in that game and it sucks to know I have a good headset and I am not even using it's full potential

I have a video in the resources on setting up obs, perhaps it may help with the configuration. however, i have a dual monitor setup so i can use 1 screen for the games, and the other for my pc due to a possible lag of 1.5-2.5 via capture card. however when i'm using my monitor via OUT from the capture card it's instant.

Hey guys wondering if anyone could help me out.

I got a PS5 at launch and have literally just got round to trying to set it up to stream (using HD60 & Streamlabs).

I seem to be experiencing a roughly 2 second delay between what’s happening on the ps5 to what streamlabs is picking up from the game capture

Is there a way to bring that into sync at all?

As the webcam and mic is being picked up in real time so it’s out of sync with what’s happening in game.

Tried a few YouTube videos but they were all on audio delays not actual game capture delay.

I use an TV/Gaming Monitor due to the delay. Sometimes I have 0 delay, and other times it can be 1.5-2.5 have you tried to see in other software ex: 4k capture utility, or OBS if the delay occurs?

I’m playing on a 4K monitor so there’s no delay for me actual playing the game.

It’s just a delay on the travel from what’s happening on the console to the streamlabs or the actual elgato software as I’ve tried it on that too

Glad to hear the game doesn’t delay, but I think it’s normal. I mean it’s processing a lot so the delay I’ve come to expect it. Sometimes though, there isn’t one. I’d say try different cables and see if any improvement.

It wouldn’t bother me as the player - it’s just what will be output on the stream as viewers will see me react to or speak about stuff that’s not happened for them yet 🤣

usually most streams have a 10 sec delay with a good internet connection. a lot of data is being output.
