If you've opened a media application which enables HDCP, you can clear HDCP protections by performing a full power cycle of the Xbox One console. With the console powered on, hold down the power button on the console for a few seconds until you hear a chime and the console powers down. You can now power the Xbox One back up and HDCP should be cleared and you can go back to capturing.

I am using mobile stream deck and am curious about whether I should be having to make a new connection via the app on my PC and on my phone each time. Each time I log in to try and use it, I am having to make a new connection because none of the old ones will connect. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I just read that you need more host controllers. There are expansion cards that employ one controller per port though. I believe they are made so they can be assigned individually to different vms. Example the StarTech PEXUSB3S44V.

I have a Wave 1 and have been using wave link software for months now. A couple days ago I added a Bluetooth speaker to my PC and switched monitor mix from my usb headset to the speaker with no issues. I went back and forth a few times, but last night when I switched back to my speaker again, I heard no sound. Switched back to my headset and also heard nothing. I've tried everything, restarting wavelink, my pc several times, double checked all the linked connections, checked for updates, nothing is working and I hear nothing. The only time I can hear anything is when I ping my headset directly. I see wavelink picking up sound, it's showing it in monitor mix, nothing is muted.

I'm getting the same problem. It started out of nowhere. I was using it perfectly the day before. Is this conflicting with nvidia drivers maybe?

I mean it, it's the exact same problem and it started like last week. No signal, then it flickers, lights go white, red, sometimes even both at the same time. When it does detect the capture card it says I should make sure it's 3.0. I only have two 2.0 USB ports and they're already in use, everything else is either 3.0 (4 ports) or 3.1 (2 ports) none of them seem to work.

I am having the most annoying of issues and right now animal crossing music is mocking me from my monitor speakers so I'm a bit annoyed. Sorry about that.

So I managed to half fix the issue. But now there is audio from my headphones AND my monitor.

So now I am struggling to shut of the monitor sound! But for some reason I can't find that setting anywhere! It just plays from both audio places and it's driving me nuts! And google is not helping because people are having similar issues but not the issue I'm trying to fix.
So please. if anyone in the Elgato community knows how to fix this I would be ever so grateful. This Animal Crossing music is great but through my crackly monitor speakers it's like nails on a chalk board. Please. I am wishing on a star. someone. help.

I have a problem that my capture card I bought today where it is stuck on initializing because I was having audio issues and someone suggested to update the firmware and like a idiot I did thinking it wouldnt be an issue and now it's stuck. Ive tried uninstalling the drivers and programs but still nothing. I submitted a ticket already but just wanted to make sure if there is anything else I could try to hopefully get it to work. I looked in the device manager and it's only showing under an audio device.

Hello, so I wanted to stream my gameplay to Zoom by using the OBS Virtual Camera and the elgato Capture card, so my issue is that whenever someone is watching my gameplay/camera from my zoom meetings, the gameplay/obs virtual camera seems kinda laggy in terms of performance (fps and quality), so I was wondering if there are any settings that could help me smoother my gameplay on obs, zoom or maybe elgato. Also one thing i’ve noticed is that whenever i’m watching the preview video of my obs virtual camera on Zoom video settings, the performance seems a little bit fine....

So I want to get into making YouTube content. I have an Xbox series S and Nintendo Switch. Now I know as far as getting the output to my tv through the Elgato won’t be a problem, but here’s the real question. I have two laptops. One having Intel Pentium and the other having Intel Celeron. I know both are low end chips. The Pentium laptop however used to run everything smoothly with apps like Adobe, Fruit Loops, Music creator apps, YouTube, streaming apps, etc. I just wanna know since I won’t be streaming my content will it be ok to run a Software that’ll just be recording my gameplay? Also my Celeron powered Laptop does have 3.0 usb support I believe and I’m not sure if the Pentium one does.

Hey everyone I have a weird issue. It has only impacted 2 livestreams and I have had longer streams and many others that ran like a dream

In these two livestreams, it all ran like a dream until about half way. On Streamlabs the game capture (Elgato HD60S) went black but everything else was fine. At most a minute later the whole laptop reboots (windows 10) in error

But after that? The issue is gone! Not seen again for the rest of the stream. Between the first time and last time I had about 6 streams with no issues.

It is a new and powerful laptop so it cant be natural age. So I am putting this out there in case anyone knows how I could diagnose/resolve this one? It has me baffled

Hello, i have a HD60 S and i have a problem :

When i launch the Game capture software, i have 2 situations :

• No signal and it asks me if the Switch is connected to HDMI input or powered on
• Black screen on the software, but i have the picture on my screen

I tried almost everything :

• Update USB 3.0 drivers
• Reinstall the software
• Unplug all HDMI and USB-C cable, wait and try again
• I tried 4 diffrents HDMI cable

I don't know what to do more, i'm at the bottom. Can you help me please ?

If you run tests in 4K Capture Utility or Game Capture HD, does this freezing still happen?

If the signal is still dropping out, but only when capturing switch I'd suggest disconnecting all cables from the dock and switch. Then power off the Switch completely through its menu. Then reconnect power, then HDMI, then insert the Switch into the dock and power it back on.

The dock itself can cause some problems at times.

I’ve got a Sony A5100 attached to my PC via CamLink 4K. All of the kit is less than a year old but in the last month or so when I stream 9/10 the camera will freeze mid stream. The PC is a decent rig with RTX2060 and AMD 3500, 16gb RAM etc. I’m using USB 3.0 ports and have tried moving the CamLink to different ports. I’ve also reduced the overall drain so that there is just this, my Wave, keyboard and external SSD plugged in to other ports. Ant help greatly received 😦

it happpened the same day with the PS4, and yes it also occurs in Game Capture HD. The software stops recognizing the device which is when the signal is lost. It can occur anywhere between 10-30 minutes.

I keep switching ports, they almost never detect the device, whenever they do, that's the message. I said it before, I just bought a brand new 3.0 USB PCI card just to troubleshoot this and the error still occurs. I now have 8 different 3.0 ports and 2 other 3.1 ports. The same thing can happen in any of them, but any of them can also function whenever the capture card feels like it only to turn off the signal 10-30 minutes later. I've also tried 3 different sets of HDMI cables, tried on two different consoles (the issue happens in both of them as demonstrated in the video clip above). This happens on both Game Capture HD and OBS.

My main concern is the fact that the capture card was working (almost fine, because a few months ago, I finally found a port that was being stable even if I shut down the computer) up until last week. The HDMI out was also not sending any passthrough signal to the TV, after cleaning the HDMI ports on the Elgato HD60 S that seemed to have fixed the passthrough issue at least.

I cannot stress how much this seems to be a software udpate/conflict issue. Since there are so many other people with the same problem showing up over here.

can someone tell me why the Game Capture HD60s struggles, capturing an HDMI signal coming from another capture card?
since the HD60s only has HDMI input, i am using a different (older) capture card for mi Wii (component output)
i tried both, the "Elgato Game Capture", and the "Hauppauge HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition"

component from Wii goes into old capture card.
old capture cart outputs it trhrough HDMI.
HDMI goes into my HD60s.
there i capture it for OBS, and passthrough it to my TV.
(which means mainly using the old capture card as a component to HDMI converter)
but for some reason the HD60s does not capture it proppely

is there a way to fix that?

you may ask, why i want it to go through the HD60s? well, two reasons.

1. the HD60s has no capture delay. the old ones have a 1 to 1.5 second delay. which is annoying.
2. my TV only has one HDMI port. and i dont want to switch HDMI cables on the TV. switching inputs on the HD60s is easier

What I need to do is add an XBOX to the setup. I do have an Elgato HD60s if needed.

How can I just add the xbox into the current setup without having to do anything drastic?

Thanks for trying to help, but none of that seems to matter (I had already deactivated power management of the USB ports). As I mentioned I even bought a new PCI card for that. The device works whenever it wants to, sometimes it deactivates mid use, sometimes it works indefinitely even after shutting down the PC and activating it the next day without removing any of the cables. I ended up dishing out 250 bucks on a 4K60 Pro, which I wasn't intending to, but I kind of gave up.

Hello so I haven’t used my elgato for a while but I tried connecting it to my Wii today and it hasn’t been displayed on the game capture hd app. The hdmi coords more so I know that they’re fine and when I plug in the USB port it flashes so I don’t think the wires are the problem. I’ve tried resetting my laptop reinstalling the app and unplugging all the wires and nothing has worked

I need help. For some reason everything works perfectly EXCEPT for my game audio when using Wave Link with XSplit. My game audio ends up off by about 1.5 seconds. Everything else functions fine. Doesn't anyone know a fix for this?

Help 😦 I had to reinstall Windows on my PC and when installing Wave Link for my Wave 1 the installer software sticks at 'plug the microphone in'. It was working before the reinstall in the same USB port. I've tried all the others to no avail (it's a relatively new PC). After a restart I can get up the mixing desk but when I try to add a channel I just see a column of Aux 2 - nothing else. Inspecting Sounds and audio drivers I can see everything I expect to see, and if I use an application that requires a mic, it finds the mic and sees the other Wave audio drivers (plus the mic and Elgato headphone port work fine). Any thoughts as to the issue here please?

Before I got my HD60s I had my Nitendo Switch audio through an aux cable into line-in on my PC and then using "listen to this device on X" to my PC speakers.
Now I've got audio capture from the hd60s and redirecting it in the same setup without dealing with electrical disturbance on the audio line. So far I can't hear any discernible lag but wanted to check if anyone has ran into an lag issues with a similar setup.

Hey guys, ever since I've installed Wave link and got myself a Elgato Wave 1, when I start my games my Audio crashes and there's a red X on my volume mixer. Is this a known bug? It doesn't happen all the time but the odds are quite often, it shuts off when I'm streaming and then it becomes awkward to tell my viewers every night.. Do note it also happens when I'm not streaming.. Help 😦

Update: After using it for a while again, I noticed that these red artifacts also happen on my PS5 and Xbox only slightly.

you can try to set the output from the switch to 720p.
ALso if you have it on all consoles etc.. then use the original hdmi cable/silver ones.
For an extra check you can see if your stream pc needs an update on drivers etc..

Heyguys question, i been using elgato hd60 with chatlink cable, i only getting 1 audio on one side of my headset but if i move the chatlink port in my controller for a bit i can ear audio on both side of my headset. I was having some issues (thought I fixed it) My streamdeck XL works perfectly fine. Unless I try to go into the application. As soon as I do the app freezes and i have to close it/reopen. I checked in the logs but there is nothing there other than this.

I've been using my Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro MK.2 to play on my TV and today for some reason the Xbox resolution can only be 480p. I checked for updates, there was one and I installed it but it did not fix the issue. When I connect the Xbox to the TV with both cables it works at 4k60. The capture card is very new

I'm hoping someone can help me solve an issue I'm having with my Elgato 4k60 pro. It used to capture at 4k just fine, but now it's only capturing at 1440p

Here's what happened:

First - I moved my internal Elgato 4k60 pro to a different PCI slot while adding my Cam Link Pro to my system. I didn't have to move it, but I thought I could move it to a different slot for preferred organization, only to find that the different slot wasn't large enough for the card. So I switched it to another slot & have double confirmed that it meets the requirements for the 4k60 pro.

I turned on my computer to find that my Elgato 4k60 pro is no longer capturing at 4k. The highest it can capture from my device is now 1440p. I was using the same HDMI cable & adapter as before so I know that's not the issue.

Second - Thinking that maaaaaaybe the motherboard doesn't have enough bandwidth for both the Cam Link Pro & 4k60 pro, I removed the Cam Link Pro. While I was at it, I switched the 4k60 pro back to the original slot it was in when it was working at 4k.

Turned my computer on & it's still only coming up to 1440p.

I've updated my computer, updated the 4k utility Elgato software, & tried looking up a toooooooon of videos/troubleshooting pages & can't find anything...

Any suggestions at all? Please tag me if you have any ideas

@frank mason I've had that happen when the USB bus is overloaded (there aren't enough resources to fully interface with the StreamDeck). If you're using a USB hub, trying plugging the StreamDeck directly into the PC and see if that solves the problem.

I just installed the Cam Link Pro, and the system isn't recognizing it at all. No unidentified or unknown devices in the device manager. It's plugged into the second PCIe X16 slot (RTX 2070 in the primary one). Those are the only two PCI slots in use (the two X1 slots are empty). Motherboard is an MSI B550 Gaming Plus. Elgato 4K Capture software is up to date.

I need help... I've been at this for a long time and because I've put money down I feel I've come to far to give up now.
The software for my elgato HD60 S says I need a usb 3.0 for it to work, but that's exactly what its plugged into. And everyone on any video i watch for this tell me to plug the output of the elgato into my tv/monitor, but how am i supposed to do that and livestream to twitch? My monitor only has 1 hdmi plug. I have it in an hdmi switch but that only makes it so I can switch between them not actually able to stream anything. The elgato software still says the same error "needs to be plugged into a usb 3.0 to work properly".
I might be able to have twitch record fullscreen and then switch but idk if that actually works or not.

Hello, I updated to the latest Big Sur version and now Wave Link gives this popup: "Some Wave Link components are unable to load. Please approve the component by Rogue Amoeba in System Preferences and restart your Mac.". I checked the system preferences, and there is nothing I could approve for Rogue Amoeba. I reapproved all privacy things for WaveLink and restarted the the computer and it still doesn't work.

I also allowed trusted developer apps, nothing there.
The previous Big Sur version worked, don't know what to do here anymore

If I understood you correctly, you want to stream your switch games on twitch? The Elgato has 3 cables connected to it, x2 HDMI and x1 USB. The USB goes into the PC. Now here's how the HDMI's should go:

• The IN side, should the one which receives the video, so in your case - that's where the HDMI from the switch goes
• The OUT side, is for output, or where should it send that signal from the nintendo. If you plug it into a monitor, you might as well just go without the Elgato as that defeats the purpose of being able to stream. That side of the HDMI needs to be connected to your graphics card. When you connected to the graphics card, it will then send that signal through the Elgato app (whether it's Game Capture HD or 4K Capture Utility, I belive OBS works too but I haven't tried it as logically, Elgato devices would work best with drivers ). From there, you have the option to decide how you want to stream it. The apps support going into fullscreen so you can alt-tab to your desktop any time.

If you do decide to get a 2nd monitor, which definitely allows you to have more windows open and is proven to increase productivity, make sure you have enough ports in your GPU. With a single monitor set up, you only need two: One for your monitor and one for the Elgato. With a 2nd monitor, the demand gets increased by one. Depending on which Graphics card you have, there's likely to be a Display port too.

I've had a streamdeck XL for about 10 months. Just recently, I upgraded my streamdeck software. Since the upgrade, my Streamdeck seems to go into screen saver mode at random intervals and disconnect from the streamdeck software on my PC. The only way to get it back is to close then reopen the software. The firmware and software is up-to-date and I have tried reinstalling the software from scratch. Any ideas how to fix this or if anyone else has run into this issue? I am running Windows 10 Version 2004 Build 19041.572. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I do have a horrible issue that have a bit ruined my day (and my stream)
I did have a power shortage today while my computer was running and I think it has broken something with my camlink.

Basically now my camlink is detected once in ten tries, and it freezes after a few minutes, it's not working anymore on OBS or any soft that uses a webcam..
I ran to a shop before the closing hour to buy a new CamLink thinking that mine was broken, and good news! It did nothing c:
The fresh new camlink has the same issue as the old one, so the problem comes from my computer

I tried the camlink on a laptop and it's working perfectly

I tried uninstalling 10 times the camlink driver but the problem persists, changing USB 3.0 port, same, uninstalling 4K utility etccc...

I’ve spent about 24 hours trying to fix my problem. I am setting up a dual PC stream using the 4K60Pro. My monitor is an Alienware Ultra-wide 3440x1440p. I don’t have a HDMi 2.0 port. I have tried mirroring my display as well doing an OBS mirror with OBs on both machines. No matter which way I do this, my Capture Card never captures at my monitors resolution. When I configure video in OBS and look at the properties of the 4k60 it shows my resolution as 3840x2160. Which results in a black outline all around my capture source in OBS. When I did this via single PC stream I never had an issue. How do I get the capture card to output my actual display resolution?

Hey so am a bit stuck - running a dual system and running the gaming PC into the streaming PC using a 4k60s+ and it'll randomly freeze after having the disconnect and reconnect sound play a few times - then I'd have to disconnect each cable from the capture card one at a time to get it to reconnect and unfreeze

Oh also, I'm running the capture card as a mirror of my main monitor not a pass through, my main monitor is 144hz so I assumed that would be the only way to not cut out that functionality of my monitor. Main monitor is also 2k not 4k

Goal: Get my HDR (and later 4k when I get a ps5) when I'm playing the game and also streaming it.

So atm I'm using a razer ripsaw capture card (please don't hate me).. And despite using a setup like so:

PS4- Splitter- TV (get my HDR)
PS4- Splitter- CC- Laptop (don't get my HDR, not even as long as the pc is turned on). Like- not even when mt TV is set to the HDMI port that goes to the splitter to the PS4

But the CC in itself does't, or SHOULN'T cap the res (but sometimes I only get 720p in its settings in SLOBSwhen everything else is compatible with higher res)

My laptop is HDR-streaming compatible. Not HDR app or game compatible.

Now.... my question is: would there be a workaround my problem with any of the elgato's capture cards?

Hey everyone, I have the wave 3 mic and absolutely loving it so far except for one thing.....sometimes when I'm gaming with my friends, we'll be chatting like calling out shots or general chit chat, every so often they tell me I need to repeat myself because my mic has cut out, has anyone else had this? It's really bothering me now as I'm getting back into streaming and this is the last thing that's holding it off, I don't want my mic cutting out when I'm chatting with viewers etc.

@rugged hare yeah mate it's discord where the issue is coming. I've disabled all the "features" discord recommends incase it was one of them, I know what a noise gate is but do you mean the mic sensitivity? I have that on auto, are you saying turn it to manual and adjust from there?

Correct. Sometimes auto can be silly. If that doesn't work, check the mic settings in wave link software. I've had to turn my gain up in wave link or else no one could hear me

@rugged hare I'll give that a try thanks, I was messing about with it today funnily enough but didn't think much of it as it's never bothered me before, I'm thinking if I stick it to manual and set it quite sensitive but use Nvidia broadcast to kill the background noise it might work well together so it can hear me clearer but no background chatter.

The issue isn't wether people can hear me, it's just half way through a sentence it just cuts off and my friends are saying "what bro? You cut out there"

@rugged hare DOH, it literally says on the discord help pages for input sensitivity that auto can sometimes cut me off at the end of sentences as it's trying adjust my voice from too low and high, it's gotta be that, thanks for your help bro

Hey Stream Deck owners, question for ya. Every-time I unlock my PC or restart my PC, My web browser automatically opens with the blue Stream Deck local page and says the message: "Your account is now set up in Stream Deck. You may close this window."

Hey everyone I am in desperate need of help. Over my last 2 streams my voice has become robotic/echoy. I have not made any changes and I am lost to what the issue is. The game audio, music and other aspects are fine. Just my mic which has remained unchanged for ages. Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas here. I capture my retro consoles through an elgato hd60s capture device and usually have the resolution for the elgato set to custom resolution 1440x1080 (There are usually tons of resolution options.) After I updated windows yesterday the custom resolution options for the elgato are gone leaving only 1920x1080. I completely reinstalled the device, elgato software and OBS studio with no luck. Does anyone know if this might be more of an elgato issue? Thanks for any ideas.

can i ask why you want a lower resolutions instead of 1920?
for your problem unfortunately, it's a windows thing and not an elgato problem. what you can try is to change your screen resolutions as software/hardware(dont know what monitor you have), check your nvidia/intel settings for resolutions. and change the obs resolution settings. that's all you can do. can i ask why you want a lower resolutions instead of 1920?

Thanks for the reply. I was using 1440x1080 because these retro consoles are in 4:3 aspect ratio. When it scales to 1920x1080 the game looks slightly stretched out. It looks like I have two elgato hd60s sources in OBS now and one of them has 640x480 which is the proper aspect ratio so ill use that for now. Its just frustrating that updating windows changed everything.

It’s actually coming from and OSSC which is outputting 640x480. Oddly enough in the source list the hd60s shows up twice under 2 different names. One of them has the option to output 640x480 which is fine. Just very strange how it all played out. Thanks again for the help!

After a windows update, I no longer get game sound when I running my HD60S through OBS. In fact, I no longer get game sound through the speakers when my computer is on. Turn the computer off, sound comes back. Any idea why this might be happening? Thank you!
