Hey so, I just received my Elgato wave 3 and I downloaded the software but it was messing with my Razer Headphones THX Spatial driver or something because my headphones stopped giving sound and then I tried a bunch of stuff and now my headphones give me the usual sound that they did before but my wave 3 microphone doesnt work

I don't really know what to do

So the controller is connected to the console? This might actually be the issue. Playstation 4 and 5's USB ports can be pretty noisy so we usually suggest disconnecting the controller from the console if possible.

I purchased an Elgato HD60 and recently discovered Twitch Studio. I have a turtle Beach Stealth 700 usb wireless and a turtle Beach Recon 70 wired. I use a pretty fast laptop to hook the elgato in.

I have been trying to stream on Twitch Sudio using the elgato, however no game audio is being heard. I know you have to use a Chat Link to record/stream game audio and party chat, but I really don't care much for the party chat I only want the game audio.

Is there a way to capture the audio onto the laptop for streaming and being able to listen to the audio into my headphones? If so, which do I have to use

It’s probably just a dodgy port

So the place you plug it in is a bit broken

So it kinda disconnected and connects quickly

But to test that try plugging in something else in that same port and see if it works

I fixed it myself.. it was the HDMI in the back was completely broken i have no idea how but it was from plugged in to my GPU im assuming the 3090 FE got to hot and melted the aftermarket hdmi the cheap one because my Display ports are fine

after testing more once the static noise issue occurred i closed the wave link software and my headset went back to normal. so i can definitely rule out the usb port. im assuming now it must be the software is a bit buggy on mac big sur which makes sense since they just released it. do you think i should notify them of the issue? or should i just fix the code manually?

Hey, community, I know that the HS60pro only has official support for 1080p, but, has anyone used it with higher input resolutions than that?
I am 100% fine with it capturing at 1080, but I was wanting to know if it will handle input from a 2020 iPad Pro 11" with 2388x1668 resolution?
I know that the HD60s can not work correctly with the 12.9" 2020 iPad Pro because the res is 2732x2048, BUT, that is a higher res, and the external card is (I am thinking) not quite as capable as an internal card.
Anyone tried this combo before?

Hey guys. I've recently upgrades from a HD60 to HD60s+. I've noticed is seems more grainy/pixelated. Any recommendations on this? my twitch account is ButtonMashDoug in case you want to watch a clip or vod. I stream in 900p at 60fps. was at 4700bitrate but now 6000. I get no frame drops but still looks grainy/pixelated.

It's not just 'official' support. The card won't accept a higher signal.

Do you know what actual resolution the iPad Pro outputs over HDMI? What does it show over HDMI to your TV? 2732x2048 may not be what it actually is sending to a display.

Are you referring to capturing microphone audio or mic audio being heard by other players? Chat Link itself does not do anything with mic audio in terms of capturing.. Only if the controller outputs your mic audio, is it able to capture it.

What happening is that if they're using the HD60 Pro in a cloned display setup with their PC, the computer is sending the high resolution and high refreshrate to their monitor but only 1080p60 to the HD60 Pro. That's historically how it's worked.

It's not bulletproof which is why having a capture card with native high refreshrate support can be helpful like 4K60 Pro.

They're playing at 1440p60 or 1080p144, but their HD60 Pro is not actually receiving that.

Both HD60 S and HD60 S+ send completely uncompressed video into the PC. So pixelation or grainyness would point to it just being normal encoding losses.

Try all of your other USB 3.0 ports on the system. Different USB 3.0 controllers could cause such issues.

Depends on the console. We're at the mercy of how the console handles outputting audio when a headset is being used. Xbox is pretty easy. It'll output sound Game Audio and Party Chat to TV/HDMI and headset if you want.

PS4/PS5 you'll either need Chat Link or to have some sortof mixamp which send out a secondary mix to some sort of cable which we can then bring into the PC. Sony makes it difficult.

I just set my phone to WQHD+ (2960x1440) (the highest it can go) and the HD60pro displays it in OBS just fine. When I go to the properties, in OBS and click configure video, it should the signal status as being 1920x1080p 60FPS.
Does this mean that my phone is outputting 1080p even though the screen is at 1440p?

Ok, so if an iPadPro with the highres screen was causing all sorts of green bars, artifacting, and no signal, with an HD60s, but works fine on a "4k" capture card... It is likely that the iPad is outputting too high of a res signal for the HD60s? Would you know if the same issue would occur with the same iPad, but an HD60pro?

For a headset, the Chat Link sends the microphone audio through to your controller. Only way to capture microphone audio would be if you're on Xbox and use Mic Monitoring.

The only audio that the Chat Link sends to your capture card is the audio that is being output from the controller. Or rather, whatever you hear in the headset is split and sent to be captured.

Well unlikely. Each TV, Monitor, capture card has something called an EDID. it's like a small database in the device that tells consoles, cameras, computers what resolutions and refreshrates are supported.

So the HD60 S or Pro will tell any device connected to it that it supports up to 1080p and up to 60hz.

Green Lines aren't likely to be too high of a resolution because that resolution isn't being sent. The capture card and source negotiate the resolutions and other details.

Try different USB ports, different HDMI cables or adapters, reinstalling drivers, etc. https://e.lga.to/drivers

Testing in the 4k Capture Utility what input EDID mode are you using? You can find this by clicking on the gear button in the top right of the software and then clicking on the device tab. If set to merged try and set to internal, and then under the input EDID mode, change the EDID (internal) to 1080p/1440p/2160k for whatever resolution your monitor supports.

Oh so the mic is built to be sensitive so we can pick up audio well but you need to parent with all the software to be able to make sure it’s perfect like for example a noise gate

Have an 4K60 Pro MK2, running a GTX1080 and Ryzen 7 currently. Recording XBOX One X (Series X is on the way) at 1080p currently because I can't get 4k to capture well with this setup (screen tearing).

1. I have minor issues when loading up Warzone on launch, sometimes if I go to the home/xbox menu; weird. A few seconds after the game begins loading (80% of the time) the screen goes blank and stops outputting to my TV, but the signal is still live on my PC monitor. I finally found that I can go into settings and turn EDID from Merged to Display, let it reconnect, then set it back to merged and everything turns back on. The workaround works, it's just a pain in the ass. Any ideas on a permanent fix or reason?

2. I was initially getting no audio sync issues when recording, but they're pretty prevalent now (audio roughly .25 seconds behind) I suppose it could be the Bitrate, but I don't know enough about it (and couldn't find a ton of resources for 4K60 setups/settings/troubleshooting) to know what I should be looking for to help fix that. Any suggestions, documentation, videos, experience sharing is welcomed.

(The loading no signal thing isn't specific to Warzone. Happens with any game MOST of the time, but usually only ones that run in 4k, if I had to guess)

Hiya! Does anyone thing they could help me out? I have a PlayStation 4 connected to an Elgato HD60 S. When 4k Capture Utility is off, everything is fine, but when I open it, everything stops working. The TV that the Card is connected to will turn on for a little bit, then will stop receiving signal. During the times that the TV is receiving signal, 4K Capture Utility cannot, and during the sections where the TV isn't receiving signal, 4K Capture Utility can (when I say "receiving signal" I mean that the TV or application believes it's receiving signal. The only video that can be seen is a black screen, and the audio can be heard, albeit very poorly)

Anybody know of a solution for the HD60S+ no receiving pass through audio of any device on any software? Have tried my switch, PS4, and XB1. OBS, SLOBS, and 4K Capture receives no audio only perfect video. Have tried multiple USB 3.0 ports on my PC, multiple HDMI's, and yet to find a solution. Only thing I could think of is Elgato hardware or the USB C that came with it is the issue but it powers fine. Using Windows 10 Pro.

Edit: Found an old Samsung charger that is USB 2.0 to USB-C and it works perfect. Just has very bad video stuttering, I assumed due to it being 2.0 and not 3.0. Ordered a new 3.0 to C USB. Hoping that fixes the issues flawlessly, all my other USB's receive great video no audio still.

I'm considering having a dual PC stream set-up for purely streaming on one and doing 2D animation, art and sequence rendering on the other; not gaming. Does the Elgato 4K60 Pro Mk.2 actually capture the entire desktop display with sound and all, passing it all through to the 4K60 to transfer to the stream PC? Or is the 4K60 only able to capture games?

I'm a heavy TV Paint animator, Affinity designer and Da Vinchi video editor - and streaming these apps while using them is often troublesome, hence the pondering of a dual PC.

So you have the RTX 3080 and then the M.2 PCIe SSD. Besides HD60 Pro, do you have any other PCIe devices?

I don't necessarily think this is a incompatibility issue but possibly due to the 3080 being PCIe4 whereas the 590 would have been PCIe 3.

Does moving the HD60 Pro to another PCIe slot have any improvement? What about moving the Cam Link 4K to another USB 3.0 port?

i'm new to streaming. I'm currently streaming on ps5 with elgato hd60S. I've got hdmi from the ps5 to the elgato and then usbc from elgato to my pc. I'm using elgato software to stream the gameplay on the monitor but use streamlabs to capture my screen to stream onto twitch.

So my problem is, after a while of gaming, maybe 10 minutes or so, the audio starts stuttering. It is not a lag, atleast i can't say it is a lag. Its just, the audio starts breaking up. Hi! Im having a really frustrating issue that sorta just spontaneously started yesterday
the elgato software gets stuck on "one moment please..." (detecting video) and OBS straight-up refuses to launch, claiming either my GPU isnt compatible or my drivers arent up to date (which is fairly blatant nonsense... its the same GPU it was working fine with literally yesterday, and I checked and all my drivers are fully updated). You might think this is an issue with the card itself, but no... I can still see the game fine on my TV, so its fully capable of passing all signals through - my software is just acting like it cant. Does anyone know why this might be and how to fix?

When I change the sample rate from 48000hz to 96000hz on my Wave 3 microphone it breaks the wave link software and people comment that my microphone has static and crackling noises. Is the rated 96000hz sample rate false advertising or just a bug? I changed the sample rate using the windows sound control panel advanced properties.

I was lucky enough to get a PlayStation 5 when it came out, and it also happens that I own a 5K iMac from 2017. Since I am relatively tight on budget and that I do not have a 4K TV, I have bought an Elgato HD60S Plus and plugged it to my PS5 and iMac to play and sometimes record some clips that I wanted to share. But I noticed that the quality does not look like 4K. Therefore, I was wondering if the HD60S Plus allowed me to passthrough 4K directly from the PS5 to the iMac's monitor or if the passthrough only worked on an external display.

so my hd60 pro has been having a lot of audio issues recently, for some reason the audio in the recording is delayed a couple seconds then half way through the recording it speeds up for a couple seconds then goes slow motion and cuts out

another thing that i would like to say is that i usually listen to my audio through my elgato and the entire time it was recording it was totally fine, no delays, still had sound the entire time. Partially depends on the software you're using and specs of the system. But ~100ms is pretty typical for 4K60 Pro. Downscaling shouldn't notably affect the latency.

If your latency conscious though, we always suggest people use the zero-lag HDMI passthrough port to play on their TV rather than playing on the software preview.

Well I'm sorry that that is too high for you. But that's also not really the use-case for capture cards. The latency may be lower than what I quoted but I wouldn't want you to make a purchase and then be disappointed that it's unusable.

We never recommend playing the game in the software preview. The latency is manageable in that range since the anticipated use is for it to be just used for recording video from the console or adding the card's video feed into software like OBS Studio as part of a livestream. Where 100ms is often not large enough to cause worry about making sure different sources are in sync.

4K60 Pro and many of our other cards send uncompressed video into the PC. No compression. Our software defaults to using the GPU to do the encoding since it's so performant with it.

I don't have answers for you about reasons for latency though. Not my area.

1.) Open your device manager.
2.) Find the usb device that says "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) "
3.) Right click on it, and uninstall the device.
4.) Unplug the Stream Deck, and plug it back in.

What are some other mounts that work with the keylight air? the flex mount parts are generally sold out in a lot of places. Anything with a 1/4" mount will work?

@fair marlin Like the smearing and pixelation? That's from the video compression. OBS is compressing the video in realtime to let it be easily streamed to Twitch. Compression and most of those artifacts are just... normal.

But a few things to change.

1. instead of downscaling to 1600x900, do 1536x864. 1600x900 doesn't divide evenly by 16 and isn't as efficient, but also in some cases can cause weird problems in the video.

2. Turn on antialiasing. that clip from what I assume is CoD has so much aliasing and shimmering from the trees and grass looks like noise to the video encoder and it can severely hurt video quality. Same goes for Rocket League, looks aliased and sharp which isn't good for video encoding.

Lastly, do the same recording in 4K Capture Utility and see how it looks. OBS Studio and 4K Capture Utility have completely uncompressed video previews. So it should look perfect in the preview.

If you ever watched people stream DayZ or Arma2, you'd see how all the plants and trees completely murders video quality. Those two games were notorious for being really bad to stream due to it. It looks like straight up noise to the video encoder most of the time.

It's normal for there to be an audio source added with a Video Capture Device layer. Do you have audio from the console coming from the GoXLR?

That's not possible since the Wave connects to your PC or console using that digital connection. Not the same as splitting a headphone cable for example. You'd probably fry something.

However you can connect the Wave:3 to either the PC or PS5 and then use the headphone port to route audio to the other. But it's not a typical setup.

Probably easier to connect the Wave:3 to your PS5, then use a 3.5mm Auxillary cable to connect the Wave:3's headphone port to your computer through a Line In or Mic port. And then have that be imported to your stream or capture software.
