Hey hey I got a few questions! using the 4K60 Pro Mk.2 in a secondary PC to encode/record.
I noticed swapped the HDR option on/off significantly changed my colors, actually looking better/more vibrant with it on (despite not even watching on a HDR screen).
What's up here? Am I losing any quality by using this? Is this color improvement intended on stream?
I feel like things look way less "washed out" and black shadows etc are actually black etc.

@peak reef Wtf, I got exactly the same problem since literally yesterday. Game Capture 4K60 here. Streaming with a perfectly fine Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. Both connectors looks perfect. Tried with several high quality HDMI cables. Tried uninstalling or reinstalling the Game Capture software several times. @limber jewel you typically want lights to be at a slight angle to your face so they give it some definition. At around a 15 degree angle on each side if you're using 2 lights
Look up photography studio lighting vids
Or something like that for a guide
(but that's fancy and using things like a hair light too)

Hi all, my streamdeck seems to have stopped working when I go live with the twitch actions. When I press a button for a Chat Message it just gives me the Yellow warning sign on the Stream Deck Key. I have deleted the Key and added it back, but it doesnt work. This is just for the normal twitch actions not twitch studio. Does anyone know why it would stop working when I go live?

Hey everyone I have a quick question that I was having trouble with! I’m curious if there is a way to shrink the game capture window size to allow for room on the left side and top to allows for banners and a webcam rather then the saved scenes that come with the game capture software which all place the camera over the video itself?
I just bought my elgato today and was curious if I could do what I do on OBS but on the elgato program
Quick example of what I mean by shrinking the capture size window down, I can do this in OBS but am unable to find out how to do it in the elgato game capture software! Hope to hear back! Loving the card already (photo isn’t mine, taken from a run I was watching earlier)

Lately I've been having this really weird issue where the software shows an extremely laggy and over-all bad look of the "instant view", but any recordings end up being completely fine and unaffected. I have a elgato hd 60 pro and not entirely sure what caused this to happen, only started to recently.
Recordings played back in the elgato software do the exact same thing to, but playing the mp4's seperately in something like VLC are 100% fine and normal.
I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game capture HD software just now as well, with no changes.

Hey guys, my friend is streaming and her audio is constantly crackling. She uses OBS + Elgato HD60S to stream directly from her Switch.
She has WaveOut enabled, and changing the “Device” in the “Video Source Properties” section creates a nasty feedback loop.
She’s currently streaming, but the crackling is unbearable. I’m trying my best to find a solution for her.
Is there anyone adept with the intricacies of audio that can help with this issue?

Alright I got it to work which I am really happy about because I have been trying to troubleshoot it for a week, and almost constantly since last night.
I reinstalled it about 25-30 times doing the same thing each time and for some reason the last time it decided to work. Anyone else having this issue I don't know what to tell you but to keep trying lol. It is a really weird issue.

I am running 2 pc setup for my stream. I have 1x elgato hd60 Pro already installed to capture my gaming pc /console.
I recently bought a dslr camera and I realise I need camlink to get it working smoothly.
Problem with camlink, it isn't available now, however I can buy another elgato hd60 Pro (almost same price as camlink).
My question here does camlink 4k have any advantages on elgato hd60 Pro?
Also is it ok to run 2 capture cards at the same time on the same build?

@tight light 10 series is needed if you want to record HDR. 920MX has no hardware encoding capability. What is the CPU in your system?

if you're using the same settings and you experience no problems currently with your HD60 S, then you'll probably be fine.

If you're not doing any HDR recording, then the requirements are essentially that of the HD60 S. If you're just playing/recording SDR, then you should be fine.
We specific the 10 series Nvidia GTX cards for this because they have the necessary hardware to encode HDR. Otherwise it's next to impossible to do in realtime on your CPU.

Hi there, I am currently having a problem with my Elgato HD 60, After setting it up in Game Capture HD, I see my screen being captured properly for 2-3 seconds and then it just freezes. Question before I buy my new elgato since I still use the first one that ever released.
The HD60 S has the capability (with a splitter cord) to still hear out of your headset and also record what you hear at the same time. The one I have I have to choose to either hear the game audio out of my headset or hear it from my monitor and record it.
Does the HD60Pro have the same capability?

at the moment unless you have a chat link cable then you can't record while having audio come out of your headset
Until you get that cable you have to chose between audio being recorded from monitor or hear the audio from your headset and not record it

if you can hear the audio from your TV/Monitor but not through your computer then i think your issue is that the audio in the playback of the software is muted
either that or something is not hooked up properly or it may not be compatible. What model elgato are you using?

it's a cord that splits audio from your headset into the recording software on your laptop. that way you can record all audio and use your headset at the same time

Hey there,
My goal is to be able to stream from my Nintendo Switch so I purchased the HD60 S. Now before anyone asks I've watched multiple youtube videos on how to properly wire it. But for some reason the connection from the card to my PC cant be recognized by the Game Capture Program I downloaded from the Elgato Website. Mind you when I plug in the USB-C to my laptop the card powers on fine and Video appears on my TV. Any help is greatly appreciated

Kinda curious if anyone can tell me but
Does 2560x1440 downscale clean to 1080p/720p on stream? compared to native 1080p. I don't wanna ruin the quality I have with my elgato 4k60 pro mk2 + 2nd turing encoding stream pc with downscaling if it looks muddy/bad.
Or should I just invest in a good quality 1080p monitor? Kinda stuck on what to do as I've heard 2560x1440 is problematic downscaling?

I am having an issue with my stream deck sending messages to chat on twitch. It was working fine, then while streaming last night just decided to give the "yellow exclamation point" warning. When being used. I am able to switch scenes, but unable to send messages/commands to chat. It seems to be hooked up to twitch account.

Hello everyone! This might be a common question but I was wondering if someone could point me towards the right direction. I stream through my PS4. I have recently gotten an Elgato HD60S but am having difficulty trying to figure out alternative solutions for the audio. My dilemma is that I play on the couch and TV so having a complicated setup with a laptop, external mic, webcam, and all the cables can be a little troublesome. I was wondering if there is a way that I could get the PS4 game audio, party chat and my voice all straight from my headset into the capture card/PC? Ultimately I want to see if I can get around having to buy a separate MIC for party chat and my voice to come through into my stream.

Is it possible to use the HD60 S on the PS4 and stream on Twitch using OBS. But also have that stream linked to the PlayStation servers so they can watch me on the PlayStation if they don’t have twitch?
I have a really big stream going to happen tomorrow and I would like to be live with smooth and clean visuals but also reach out to those who don’t have the platform

Hey so I haven't been able to get an answer for this, even after putting in a support ticket, but my hd60s has a ton of problems that I can't figure out. When i open game capture it'll start with a black screen (no matter the settings) and I can pull up my console by messing with the settings randomly. I do mean randomly too, if I just turn the same option on and off again repeatedly it often brings up the screen. However even once I've got the screen up it will occasionally flicker black for a little over a second before returning, and as I play fighting games, this is a huge issue. I have tried replacing all the cables, restarting everything. I tested the device on a different computer with no issues, and even tried an old game capture HD device that doesn't have the same issue. Unfortunately I can't just use that as it has a delay of a few seconds. I just need some kind of help. Please?

@lyric minnow If the HD60 S works fine on a different computer, let's take a closer look at your system. What is the version of Game Capture software you're running? Also, what is the firmware version of the HD60 S? Are you using a USB 3 hub? Have you tried other USB 3 ports?
@blissful shard You could connect an HD60 S to your steaming PC. Then connect the Xbox to the HD60 S. That would be easier than replacing the HDMI cable from your 4K60 Pro each and every time you change sources.

@tender lava I'm using version 3.70.43.3043 which says it's the newest. I honestly have no idea how to check the firmware of my device. I believe I'm using a hub (at least it says I have one on device manager) and I only have one other USB 3 port that seems to be creating the same issue. I've tried replacing drivers, everything from the elgato drivers to manually reinstalling the drivers for each option under USB controllers.
Oh and something I just found out, even if I pause the video preview and create a delay, it still happens. Even if the playback is paused

If I understand, you have two separate issues, right? A black screen on launch and a delay, as well? What are the specs for your PC? You could try checking Task Manager when you're using the HD60 S to see if your system is maxed out

My task manager isn't very reliable as even if I have no programs running it'll show anything from 0 to 100 on all sections. In terms of specs I have a bad camera but I'll try to send a picture

Also the delay isn't an issue that's with a separate device I used to see if it was the software. The black screen on launch is one issue, and the random flickering is the other.
And the flickering doesn't always happen. 10% of the time nothing happens

I have an issue with my 4k60 Pro mk2. After a couple of hours or even 30 mins the audio from my stream and recordings disappear. The only fix I have done is to go into the obs settings and properties of the capture device, disable and the enable it. Then the audio comes back.

They may not offer it depending on the system. But if it was working fine previously then there may be an issue with the port or cable. You're not using any hubs with it right?

Something like this is a USB HUB. Essentially just making sure the HD60 S is connecting into the computer directly, nothing in between. Sometimes Hubs or other adapters will cause issues.
Just to be 100% sure, you're using the same cable that shipped with the HD60 S, right? Not a different cable you had on hand?
I'd hold off on the BIOS until told by someone from our Email Support team.
But definitely make sure your laptop is fully updated with Windows

@wooden remnant It's not 'incompatible' or anything. It's just hubs add some complexity. And could be causing problems with the controller able to provide full bandwidth to the HD60 S or HD60 S+. Both send uncompressed video into the system. So we're talking 2000Mbps ish.
Thunderbolt 3 cables are made to a very high spec, but our USB C cables are quite good. If your original S+ cable is faulty, you can probably email us to get a replacement.

And I suggest it to many of users.
But yes I've bought 25-30 USB C cables and maybe 20% work.

USB C to C is trickier though since I couldn't really do much sanity testing since my S and S+ were my only 3.0 devices. I thought none of my C to C cables worked, but later I tried it with my new case's USB C port and they worked. So I think USB C ports on the host might be hit or miss.

@charred atlas Give it a day or two to see if the issue is completely gone. Then you can reply to the automatic email response saying the BIOS update worked. An agent will see it, probably thank you for the update and close it.

4KCU doesn't support streaming. You'll need to use software like OBS Studio, Streamlabs OBS, Xsplit, etc.
Check to see if the HD60 S+ works in those applications. You must close the other capture software when testing though. HD60 S+ can only be used in one program at a time.
So Game Capture HD might as well be uninstalled since it does not support the HD60 S+

The HD60 S+ will do exactly what you want, but you will need to choose other software. Such as OBS Studio, Streamlabs OBS, or Xsplit.
HD60 S or HD60 S+ do the same job for streaming. One just supports more features.

Hello! Can you use an HDMI splitter for the HD60 Pro? For example, I want to plug in both my Switch AND my PS4 (not using them at the same time), but if I wanted to go from my Switch to my PS4 I could easily without unplugging anything?
I'm currently just unplugging the HDMI cord from my Switch to my PS4 whenever I want to use Elgato which is a little bit of a hassle.

@supple scarab Lumens is a rating of total output, so you'd have to calculate it based on beam angle or some sort of tool/meter at the same length. I don't know that conversion on my own or have a way to test it, however... the regular Key Light is extremely bright. I typically stream with mine on about 15% brightness. And I don't know anyone who uses them at their desk at anywhere near 100% brightness.
Obviously if you're doing like a couch setup and the lights are further, then the light is spreading over a wider area.
The maximum height of the Multi-Mount is 49inches or 125cm. The regular Key Light ships with the Multi-Mount.

Hi guys! Me and a friend both have streamdecks (and love them) but have been running into some issues.. primarily with buttons that are assigned sound commands. Sometimes the sounds work great, but sometimes the button appears pressed on the streamdeck and I have to wait for it to start the sound (this can sometimes take up to 5 seconds).. with it sometimes failing to trigger the sound at all. Usually after the first time this problem occurs, the sfx buttons will work fine for a while, but will eventually have the same issue later on during a stream.
I've done some cursory searching on the issue, but couldn't find much in the way of answers.. hoping this is a problem people have seen before and know a good solution for! 🙏

Good evening, recently on my stream PC using a HD60S, my el gato game capture started running at 50%+ when being used in an active window (SLOBS will run at 80% unless I minimize it) which has my stream only running at about 40ish frames. I tried installing older versions of Game Capture with no resolve. I've used this set up for over a year now.
I also have what seems to be a common issue with my gaming PC in which cloning my monitor to the el gato will limit some of my games to 60 FPS, I've figured out a way to get around this by extending the monitor, using OBS as a full screen preview to the el gato "monitor" however when I restart my PC after extending the monitor, I cannot get the sound to work on the stream PC unless I clone the monitor & reboot. Is there a way to get the cloned monitor to not limit certain games to 60fps on a 144hz to avoid the full screen preview method? & if not, is there a way to get the sound working without cloning the monitor?
Sorry for the wall of text, I've been troubleshooting this all weekend myself & thanks for any help in advance.

I am currently experiencing the "The Elgato Remote Control plugin is missing. Please reinstall Stream Deck, then try again" error. I have done the steps that were provided on the website and it hasn't fixed the issue. OBS.Live shows that the Elgato Remote Control for OBS Studio version is identical to the Stream Deck (ver. 4.7.0.12981). If it offers any context, I am currently using Stream Elements. What other alternatives are there to remedy this issue? Thanks in advance.

Hi there pals (: I have got my HD60 S working GREAT for my Switch. I love it soooo much. However, my girlfriend wants to use it to stream from our Wii, and the audio is HORRIBLE! I bought a Wii to HDMI converter and plugged that into the Elgato HD60 S. I the checked OBS and the Elgato Game Capture HD software and on both the audio is super duper choppy/jumpy. I've tried every setting I can think of, and the audio on the TV sounds fine! So it's super weird that the capture card is having such a hard time. Ideas???

When I connect my Elgato HD60S to my Nintendo Switch and PC, and then I go into the Elgato Game Capture HD Software for Windows, I get this kind of blue/black lines.

Wtf, I got exactly the same problem since literally yesterday. Game Capture 4K60 here. Streaming with a perfectly fine Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. Both connectors looks perfect. Tried with several high quality HDMI cables. Tried uninstalling or reinstalling the Game Capture software several times. Go into Device Manager, then Sound, Video, Game Controllers and find the 4K60 Pro. Right click on it and go to uninstall.
Install this version of 4K Capture Utility: https://edge.elgato.com/egc/windows/spotlight/1.7.0/4KCaptureUtility_1.7.0.4587_x64.msi then reboot and see if it is fixed. This should bring you back to the software and driver version from quite a few months ago. Just be sure to ignore it when it tells you to update incase the issue comes back.

hey everybody, when seeing games through the preview, they're sometimes choppy or drop frames or both. i've overclocked my cpu and such and the problem persists. looking deeper into it, it may be bc it's running off of the "software encoder" as opposed to hardware in game capture hd. i can't figure out why. i've tried closing every app and reppening only game capture hd, but it's the same problem.

the pass through comes out flat with huge loss of color. there no tonemapping at all.

I have had audio issues since the beginning of the spring with the audio randomly stopping after a random amount of time - I was told, I should revert back to the August 2019 version, where it apparently was not an issue - but there are no dates added to the versions though. I tried following the instructions that @cunning latch posted about removing the 4K Capture utility and then the Game Capture 4k60 pro Mk. 2 from the device manager followed by installing v. 1.1.0.187.2 from the link he provided in his thread in this channel. According to the elgato site, the HD60 has a min specs requirement of • macOS Sierra 10.12, or later • 4th generation Intel Core i5 CPU (i5-4xxx or comparable), 2 Ghz or higher, before Turbo Boost • 4GB Total Installed RAM (or higher) • Built-in USB 2.0 port
even the latest Macbook Air with the max stats can only be an i7 1.2Ghz...
which is far below the min specs requirement

They really love those things since it shows them all the behavior of the card through trace logs.
Makes it easier for them to spot if the issue is the card or something random in the system. And they can hand it to development if needed.

Run this file. It will make a zip file called SupportInfo on the desktop. Just attach it to an email reply or to the email form if you open up a new ticket.

I have a dual pc set up using elgato 4k60 mk2 capture card
The gaming pc monitor is at 144hz while streaming pc monitor is at 60 hz
When I plug them and play Gears 5, my gaming pc monitor frame rate drops significantly to 48 in full screen mode. If I switch to windowed mode it gives 120 fps which is normally happen when playing only in the gaming rig full screen.

My gaming computer send to the card 2k 144hz. It's fine for my streaming computer. But I'm trying to display the output of the card into my TV. But my TV can't display it until the output of the card is 144hz.

Ok, I’m having issues with the HD60 S.
Every 10-15 seconds, I’m getting a black screen. The black screen lasts for a few seconds, and then I get gameplay again. I’ve done the following to try and resolve the issue and nothing has worked.
The only thing I can think of is that either my unit is defective, or the hardware doesn’t work as intended in general. Though I know many people who swear by Elgato so I’m really glad that my product is still in warranty if it is a defective unit.

Question about scene switching with streamdeck. I sometimes stream console and sometimes stream PC games. Because of that, I have two separate scenes in OBS. I have made a soundboard on my streamdeck to play an "oof" sound that I can click whenever something unfortunate happens. I want to make this a multi-action button by switching my gameplay to a full screen facecam, playing the sound, and then switching back to the gameplay. But since I am not always playing a game on one scene, I would have to make two separate buttons with the same effect but one for my console and one for the PC scene. Is there a way where I can tell it to go back to the previous scene? That way I can switch to fullscreen facecam, and then go back to the scene I was last on no matter what?

I've been using a dual pc stream setup for a year now, with an Elgato capture card HD60 pro.
Today, the capture card stopped being recognized as an audio device in my gaming PC, thus making it impossible to transfer audio from my gaming PC to my streaming PC via the HDMI cable (out gpu > in capture card).
The capture card simply does not appear in my gaming PC's Windows' Sound Control Panel (and yes, show disabled devices is ticked). Therefore, it does not appear in voicemeeter banana or elgato softwares.
I've tried :
unplugging the capture card and plugging it back again
unplugging the gamign pc gpu and plugging it back again
3 different hdmi cables
uninstalling and reinstalling capture card drivers
Any ideas? I would love to fix this as soon as possible :)

I need some help.
I just bought a HD60S and got it today, and I've been trying to set it up...I eventually got everything plugged in...but no picture will show up on my tv.
heres how I got it all lain out.
Input is plugged into my Nintendo Switch Dock
Power is connected to my computer
Output is connected to a TV.
Its just not showing up on my tv
and now on the program, its showing my switch screen, but its frozen.

i recently switched from ps4 to pc. i am using a dual stream setup and have sound capture downloaded on gaming pc. i left all of my settings the same from ps4 to pc on streamlabs. it works intermittently and now doesnt work at all. i have video but no audio what so ever. elgato is showing sound on gaming pc but not streaming pc. tested to make sure my elgato wasnt busted and set my setup back to ps4 and it worked. im at a complete loss. i have looked at numerous videos and tutorials and nothing seems to help. if anyone has any sort of ideas on how to help me please let me know

I just got the Elgato HD60 S and have been streaming my Switch gameplay. However, I had a question. My internal graphics card on my PC is an Nvidia 1050 Ti. Not super amazing. I was wondering if I could use the HD60 S to somehow elevate the strain on my internal graphics card when I try to run a PC game and stream at the same time? I have a feeling that isn't an option since the HD60 S was made for external plugins only.

You can make it so it goes to the streaming PC
But I'd suggest that voice goes directly to the streamng pc, as it gives more control

the input is 50 FPS which the 60 FPS gameplay is going in at 50 FPS and the output is 25 FPS (what the elgato is capturing) theres no way to fix that from my knowledge, its either your PC or the HD60 Pro itself.

@midnight aurora once you plug it in, it'll automatically recognize it and update the button layout for the XL in the Stream Deck app.
you're also able to use both the Stream Deck and XL concurrently, and even have it where when you push a button on the XL, it'll open up a folder/profile on the OG Stream Deck

Have you checked the recorded pc's audio output? I know with my laptop here that is a hybrid, it has the laptops sound output and another one that is from my NVidia card (to output to a TV, etc)
If you have headphones plugged in is it playing game audio through that?

Hey guy, I currently have the Elgato Chat link for my Xbox controller, but, my scuf has to be plugged in at all times to work, and I’m not willing to buy at $200 controller again if this one works perfectly wired. Because it’s plugged in, the audio through the headset makes an audible buzzing sound, I was wondering if anyone had this problem and if you had a fix? I then try to enable it, like I had it but nothing. I'm using Elgato Sound Capture. Anyone who had the same issue, that can help me out?

I bought an El gato hd60s + to stream.
my "setup" if you can call it that, is:
I followed all the tutorials on the net, I disabled the HDCP, I checked all the cables, I made all the updates to do (el gato software included in the advanced settings), I have used the cables provided with the el gato / I even tried with a usb-c / usb-C cable. But nothing...
black screen and no detection of the PS4 on the software.
I put the console in default mode to change the resolution, manage the HDCP internally, while pressing the power button for several seconds. always nothing.
I really did everything. I no longer find any solution.
the only thing i can tell you is that when i launch the software, that everything is connected but that i disconnect the hdmi / hdmi between the TV and the el gato, then there I receive the image and the sound on my macbook in the application as if everything worked.
I even checked my own personal cables by changing them with others.
I've been on the problem for 2 days, and I don't know what to do.
