Great question - So Wave Link requires either a Wave Mic, Wave XLR, or Stream Deck+ to work. Thankfully, this does mean you would be able to use your USB mic if you chose the Stream Deck+, for example, which is a fantastic piece of kit!

The MixAmp pro may make the initial setup a little trickier, i.e. figuring out what should be plugged in where etc. (e.g. the PC or console), but I believe it's possible!

Hey guys i made the mistake and bought an used elgato wave 3. and sadly it sounds worse than my hyper x cloud 2 mic atleast when im using it ingame. I have an elgato lp arm with an elgato shockwave. I even tried some plugins to make my sound better like this vid https://youtu.be/U7_LYaNpwEA. But i think the overall quality is just not as good as it should be. It definitely sounds really bad in games like mw2, warzone. Do you guys think that the usb cable could be a factor? he promised that i get the original cable but it wasnt the original one also im not sure if thats a huge factor and i might end up buying a 10-15$ cable for nothing. If anyone has some tricks or tipps what i could do i would highly appreciate it 🙂

I have a question. I was using 3 stream decks. Then, through the power of my luck, i had to build a new computer. I was using one of the stream decks to run sounds. I copied the settings from computer 1 to computer 2. The sounds didn't work even when moving files to the new computer and re-linking them. Finally got 2 to work. Was there an update that doesn't let mp4 files to be played, even though they're eligible files for playback?

Same problem with the facecam, it's plugged into a motherboard 3.2 port and elgato virtual camera is laggy & unusable, regular camera mode with camera hub not running seems to work but can't change any settings with that

Good question; Wave Link allows you to adjust the volume of devices for yourself and your stream independently; for example, you could have “Music” set to 50% for you, but 10% for stream. This is achieved through the “Monitor Mix”, what you hear, and the “Stream Mix”, what stream hears. These mixes are classified as recording devices in themselves, so can be added to OBS etc.

I set a hotkey to something like F19 and go to set it as like Toggle Enable Stream

There isnt anything that will open a browser and let you specify the screen destination.
There are tools out there that will allow you to set the destination of a particular program (unrelated to the Stream Deck) to a certain window (Fancy Zones in MS Power Toys and others). Don't know if it will open a specific URL on a certain screen.

It's possible. It will take careful routing of audio on each computer. VBAN (https://vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/vban.htm) used with Voicemeeter (on each computer) should give you the ability to route audio from one computer to the other over LAN. (HIGLY recommend each computer being on a 1000Mbs / Gig hard-wired connection, not wi-fi).

Why is it that there is always SOMETHING breaking, either with WaveLink software, or the Wave XLR unit?

For the past couple of days, either the mic port, or the headphone port of my Wave XLR will just not recognize that those items are connected. Hi, I have a Facecam (latest firmware and latest camera hub version) that keeps getting stuck on "Initializing video engine" on my M1 Mac. Since the M1 does not have any USB-A ports, I am connecting it via a Satachi adapter. It works like 1 in 100 .. but for the other 99 the app just freezes and the camera cannot be initialized in any apps

I had to go to streamdeck.exe -> properties -> compatibility -> Change high DPI settings -> go to very bottom -> click "Override high DPI scaling behavior -> change drop menu from application to SYSTEM (ENHANCED) . I'm surprised this is still a thing. I figured windows would have made this all default by now or at least detect when lines are cut off

Hello, I recently got an Elgato and it's not working. So far, I have the audio being very static in my capture utility along with NO video. I'm currently looking at "No Signal" and when I turn my Switch on, I just get the static audio with no video. Additionally, it's completely 50/50 on whether I see my game on my monitor, no clue why that would be?? If anyone knows any fixes, please let me know. I'd like to list the things I've tried, but the list would be too long. Plus, it wouldn't hurt to retry some things.

if you have another USB3 A-to-C cable, try it. if that works, you have your answer

it's entirely possible the capture card is getting power but is unable to send data, which would explain why the feed shows up on your screen but not in any capture utilities

Why does the stream deck discord plugin use such a high percentage of my cpu?

Hello, I've been having a lot of trouble with my Elgato stream deck program on my PC.

I was running Streamelements OBS with elgato for a while now with the mobile app version on my phone. At some point within the last few months, the Streamelements plugin apparently broke and I no longer am able to change scenes or anything like that within StreamElements.

I have put in multiple support ticets with elgato directly with their website, but nothing I have done has worked.

I have uninstalled. reinstalled. cleared the appdata of local and roaming. reinstalled again. installed an older version of elgato. Have uninstalled streamELEMENTS and am now only trying to get it to work with my regular OBS.

Plugins wont even SHOW UP on the store page of the app. Everything else does tho: sound effects, music, icons, just nothing under plugins.

I have tried to go directly to the elgato website and go to plugins there. Click install, and it just opens my stream deck app but doesnt do anything else.

I love this program and I feel like I have tried everything to get it to work, and it doesnt, and I'm slightly inept with technology sometimes.

Update: I have tried doing nothing different, and installing the most recent version of Elgato app onto ANOTHER pc of mine, and it installs perfect....with all the plugins i already need, and ALSO shows the plugins list in the store...what would be keeping it from downloading the same on my personal PC?

hi we have had a massive failure with a stream deck. the PC crashed and the profile we were using disappeared. we found it in %appdata%\Elgato\StreamDeck\ProfilesV2\ but double clicking it did not start the upload. the file looks like this. is this resorbable? or do we have to start again? anyone fancy joining a zoom call to help?

I try to pinpoint the cause of this stuttering here. Setup: Dual-PC. The gameplay on PC-1 (4090) was fine. PC-2: 4K60 Pro Mk.2 with a 1080 Ti (temp under 65°C all the time). Connection via HDMI. Recorded on NVMe via OBS (2x 2TB RAID0, ~8000 MB/s write). Settings: Direct3D 11, Color Format NV12, Rec709, Full Color Range, High Process Priority || Recording Format: mp4, Encorder Nvidia NVENC H.264, Rate Control: CQP, CQ-Level: 16, 0s Keyframe Interval, Preset: P5, Tuning: High Quality.

No problems with other games, also no problems prior in this game (Barotrauma). The still images in the video are fine (upper left corner), all moving objects seem to jump, so I suspect an encoding-problem right now. Other footage some hours ago was also fine, problems becomes bigger the further I go, so temp could be a thing. But actually, I have no idea, I have never seen such problems in software-only recordings like this (dxtory, fraps, action etc).
I couldnt reproduce it so far. Help would be appreciated :)

Might be the capture card, but I tend to think it might be the encoding-process by OBS.

My Stream Deck 2's profiles are now all blank for literally no reason. Seems the latest software update has a bug that can result in your entire profiles being wiped out.

I'd advise EVERYONE to back up all of their profiles right now. Something is very wrong with the Stream Deck software.

Oh... it seems the software bug also means exporting profiles fails but doesn't let you know. So you can't back your stuff up, and also it will wipe itself. Quite possibly one of the worst user experience bugs I've ever seen. Say goodbye to all of your settings everyone!

I have it in it's own USB 3 port, have tried moving it to others, ensured my Canon R6 is set to right resolution and framerate, and nothing.

Yup. I had it working last week. Only thing I had to do was take my Canon off of the HDMI to go do a shoot. I brought it in just now, plugged in same cable, and nothing. I even went and tested the HDMI out on my living room TV, to ensure the port on camera was good, and worked fine.

So, looks like the trick was I had start the 4k Capture Utility to make the unit turn on, then exit the software, or else no other program could read my camera. Also, Streamlabs wouldn't take my existing video feed, even though same device, so I had to delete it and put in a new video source to make it work.

All this to say: Thank you for reminding me about the 4k Capture software. I truly appreciate the help.

AND, it's completely ridiculous that so many people have to jump through so many hoops to make capture products work. Like, having to "trick" the HD60X to turn on by FIRST using their propriety recording software is, to me, insane.

Not sure if anyone's encountered this. I have an HD60S+ and a Wave 3 all set up with Wave Link. The game audio will only come into Wave Link when I have OBS open. It didn't use to do this before. I reset my settings and all other audio sources work without OBS open. Latest software versions for OBS and Wave Link.

has anyone noticed that qt errors are popping up a lot in control center for mac os (monterey 12.6.3) lately.. Sure would be awesome if Elgato created a version of their tools that allowed you to temp disable plugins (Stream Deck devices) or do a better job of trapping the actual error or area that is creating the problem. I am forced to start my computer before doing a show every time to make sure nothing is hanging out in the weeds. Today, I just noticed that key lights were not working properly until I manually killed the control center process and refired it up. That is a bit wonky imo. Still love the products because of the remote configurability and ease of use/manufacture, but the software could be more stable. Keep jamming folks, you do good work.

Got my new elgato facecam today (it looks AMAZING btw) and I can't get the video to stop freezing in streamlabs obs. I look at the settings under the camera hub, and notice it says "camera can't be displayed, being used in obs 64". I looked up the issue on the web and it says try changing usb transfer mode. Yet when I go to change it, there's no option for that. I updated the firmware, and checked to make sure it's plugged in and it's still freezing after a couple minutes of restarting both applications.

Any help would be much appreciated as I have a live stream in an hour and need my webcam! 🤣

hey everyone, I have a tech question now...
My OBS is taking up 30% of my GPU. I decided to test the same OBS settings on my much less powerful work computer. It only uses 16% of my GPU. Here are the details:

Let's start with what is the same:

1. ALL OBS stream settings are identical (nvidia HVENC, 5000kb, 1920x1080 output, etc.)
2. OBS 29
3. ALL profiles, scenes, and sources. I made an EXACT replica of my OBS and everything
4. 32GB of RAM

What is different:

1. My PC has 3080ti and work has 1080
2. My PC has AMD 5800x and work has intel 8700
3. Monitor at home 4k 144hz, monitor at work 4k 60hz
4. Webcam at home is DSLR going into and Elgato HD60s+ capturing at 1920x1080 60hz, webcam at work 720p USB cam

WTH is making my OBS at home double the GPU usage despite having an incredibly better GPU at home?!?!

Make make sure all your inputs are at the same res. If you are sending 1080p then all sources must be the same to prevent excess CPU/GPU cycles. Make sure all audio sources are the same as well.. ie.. 48KHz

Ok so my HD60s+ occasionally will black screen on OBS and no amount of fiddling with the card and unplugging from the card ever really fixes it. I've tried restarting PC, turning my Switch on and off, etc.
Just now I got it to fix by unplugging the USB-C cable from my PC and plugging it back in. I don't know if thats a reliable fix because I feel like I've tried it before to no avail... Just wondering if its a hardware issue with my card or if its on OBS' end. Sometimes I boot up OBS and it works without a hitch; I'd say its like a 40% success rate from my experiences so far

Hello, I just got the HD60X card, and I installed the 4k Capture Utility. The software picks up the video output, but for some reason for both my Nintendo switch and Xbox Series X I cannot get any audio. Messing with the settings it oddly picks up sometimes the audio as a mic, but even then I cannot hear it. I'm not sure if it's like a monitor hardware issue or if there's some sort of software thing on my end that I need to fix.

and i watched youtube video on it using wave link for the capture card, they said make slob it own desktop audio in wavelink and then make elgato capture card to use desktop audio to loop back into streamlab

In your windows audio mixer you should see 2 different discord apps. This is because Discord separates its audio into a Voice channel and a Notifications channel. When you set the voice channel in your discord settings you are only effecting the voice channel not the notification channel.

Make sure to set both of those to the Wave Link channel you want.

Got it figured out. Turns out it was the nvme drive being in top slot of my mobo. Moved it to the bottom slot and changed the pcie_2 slot to gen 2 and all was well.

Heya, I had an issue I resolved earlier with my HD60 X not capturing video on OBS. Turned out I had to turn off a feature within my PS5 console. I didn't have issues with OBS afterwards, but it seems my Elgato is suffering from another issue where the feed is cutting off sporadically or in even intervals.

I have OBS set up correctly and all my cables tightly plugged in their respective spots. However, the elgato is constantly switching from a solid blue light to a solid pink light whilst OBS reflects the issue by showing footage of my PS5 and then abruptly cutting off into the typical Elgato no signal screen.

I read on a post online it could be a faulty USB-C wire, but they had the red blinking light problem on their end. Does anyone know if its a wire problem or is that capture card bugged in any way? Btw, I tested this with various HDMI cables and they all follow the same issue.

When I plug my PS5 directly into my monitor with both HDMI cables I get 1440p120. However as soon as I connect the HD60X it drops me back down to 1080. That leads me to believe its not the cables, but either the capture card or a setting on the playstation. Any tips?

Morning folks, el gato 4k60hd capture card in my stream pc on a dual pc setup. I am running OBS studio on my gaming pc, and SLOBS on my streaming PC. When using the "fullscreen projector source" on my gaming pc in OBS and want to project my capture card it says "1920x1080 @ 1920x954". I think this may be why my streams appear to be blurry and was hoping someone knows a fix/solution

all my audio/comms are on gaming pc, get routed over to stream pc via el gato sound cap & voicemeter for the microphone

Hello! Has anyone here experienced -- and hopefully solved -- microstutter when using Elgato capture cards? I have two of them: an HD60 and a 4K60 and both exhibit the same microstuttering issue. I don't even have to record! Simply watching the preview in OBS or 4K Capture Utility or Streamlabs or VLC or whatever just stutters off and on, and it doesn't matter what resolution the input is. The issue happens from 240p (SNES via RAD2X) to 480p (GameCube) to 1080p (Switch) to 4K (PS5). It's all the same. My specs are beyond powerful enough for at least some of those streams...I'm running a Ryzen 7 5950x + 2080Ti and just cannot get a smooth stream to save my life. Really hoping someone can help because this is driving me insane!

Seemingly out of nowhere my facecam has decided to be stubborn. Just had a stream where I ended up switching to my older camera, because it kept disconnecting itself.

Hi everyone, I sent this message to #stream-deck-showcase but provably fits best here.

I hope this message finds you well. I'm writing because I'm having an issue with my Streamdeck, the old plain 15 key Streamdeck MK1. Lately, every time I press a key, it gets stuck (not physically, but the program interprets it as if it's pressed). The mechanical part works fine, but if the key doesn't disappear, StreamDeck keeps pressing it. If the key disappears (for example, it's a folder that disappears when pressed), then it doesn't keep it pressed.

This issue is happening on my Windows 10 computer, which is updated to the latest available version. I have the Streamdeck software updated to 6.0.2.17735 and the firmware to 1.03.000. I have tried both the latest and previous versions of the software, but the issue still persists.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me with this issue. I can provide videos and screenshots along with any necessary logs to diagnose the problem.

Hi, there's a lot of issue with capture cards as I can see and sure I have one with my HD60S+. Whenever I'm on Discord or OBS, the video that's output on the computer to be shared on OBS or Discord for example just freeze and so people watching what I'm playing with my console for example just can't see anything cause it's frozen. To fix the issue I just have to unplug and plug back again the USB from the HD60S+ and reload the camera source. I think it has an issue with the USB cable coz with the HDMI it worked fine, maybe I should use another cable idk, sometimes it has no freeze at all for about 1-2h and another day it freeze every 5/10 minutes. Idk what to do I ask on Reddit but didn't get any good answer, maybe telling my problem here will bring up a solution idk

when using obs/streamlabs theres usually an error in the bottom left of the program window (eg skipped frames). usually you have to dial down the output a notch. i accidentally got caught out recently

Just got my Elgato HD60S+ today and I have a few issues.

I have no audio at all in OBS.
When my nintendo switch resolution is at 1080p the video is laggy but at 720p it is all smooth. This is the same with other consoles.

Then with the 4K Capture Utility it is a whole different mess. Extremely choppy video and audio.
No idea why audio works there but not OBS.

Done so much trouble shooting, meet all the system requirements, reinstalled softwares, restarted pc, plugged into USB 3.
Just got this as an upgrade from the Game Capture HD but am running into so many more issues.

For the audio I use a Windows settings to hear the sound of my console. I set a new audio source for my HD60S+ on OBS so my livestream can hear the audio my console but for me, I go to the windows sound settings, go to the properties of the HD60S+ and enable "listen to this device" so I can hear my console when the webcam source for the HD60S+ is active, then I just mute my headset on OBS so my livestream won't have a double audio (when I'm playing with friends on a game console I disable the HD60S+ audio source and enable the headset one so my livrstream can also listen to my friends)

So, I'm gonna livestream and see if my issue is solved

As for your clips sounding bad, the stream deck doesn't change the audio of the clips. The issue is most likely going to be with the clip or how you are routing the clip to your output.

No matter how hard I try my HD60S+ won't connect to my switch anymore. I've update the driver and everytime I do that doesn't work and it ends up needing "repair". It works on my computer tho and captures sound and video but not on the switch. It did for 2.5 seconds but then broke again. I'm legit about to cry

Im currently trying to connect my laptop to my gaming pc via the HD60 S capture card and when trying to select the card as a video capture device on the laptop (streaming pc) it wont show up as an option.
