Hi! So, I’m looking into getting a Shure SM7B and using the Elgato Wave XLR as an audio interface (might also use a Cloudlifter in case that’s important info). However, my setup is powered by a MacBook Pro, which I bring to school every day (so every weekday) and will also use around the house sometimes. Everything I have is connected to a USB hub (which obviously connects to my Mac), including my Wave:3, which is my mic right now. I can unplug my Mac from the hub and my mic is perfectly fine. Would I be able to do this with the Elgato Wave XLR as well (with the SM7B plugged into it and the Wave XLR plugged into the hub)?

to be honest it’s just not needed. Elgato designed this product so that extras weren’t really needed. I saw a video somewhere explaining why, but I’d have to search for it.

Im trying to capture fifa23 from a ps4pro via the capture4k60pro thats built into my pc

I have already disabled dhcp

And the capture card is getting the signal fine

But once i launch fifa, the capturecard stops recieving signal, however passthrough still works

Question re the Pedal: just saw a video by Adrian Salisbury at Ecamm about using the Pedal for a scene change. The tip suggests the Pedal can be used from a nearby studio (15 - 20’ away, same room) to make a switch to a transition scene allowing time to make it back to the main studio.
I checked the specs at Elgato but they say the use of extension usb cables is not recommended with the Pedal.
Anyone tried a Pedal from a distance longer than the included usb allows? What is the length of the supplied usb cable?

hello, is there any way to get the hd60s+ capture card to emulate the effect of the windows capture setting. Like can you set the card to always record in the background and have a hotkey to save a clip. There is flashback recording but it has a minimum of 5 minutes and is meant more for streamers. Im trying to reduce gpu usage and get higher quality and more stable clips. thanks in advance

Suddenly having an issue with the Volume Controller plugin by Elgato.
Not detecting any of the active(or inactive) audio applications. Tried restarting the stream deck software with no luck. Going to try rebooting PC as well but has anyone seen this?

Update: Restating PC did resolve this issue. If anyone knows of a solution for fixing it without rebooting in the future though please let me know.

I got a oddball question. Every time I'm having to start up a new game I'm having to manually link it in to the end game audio feed into the wavelength software instead of it Auto adding.

This is odd, Windows should be remembering these settings for you. The Sound Deck plug-in has a “Set App Audio Device” which allows you to change the default audio device of the “foreground application”, e.g. the game. Although this isn’t the best solution, it should hopefully make things easier to rectify.

This is likely caused by a dusty / faulting HDMI cable. Try cleaning the HDMI connections carefully, or if possible, different HDMI cables altogether.

If the red dots appear on both your monitor and OBS, it’s the cable from your console into the capture card. If it’s only your monitor, but OBS is fine, it’s the cable from your capture card to your monitor.

I have a question about my capture card (Elgato Capture Card 60S+), I will just paste in my description of my online submition. How can I use my monitor at 144 hz but still record at 60 fps. Because when I connect the card and overclock the monitor to 144hz (the monitor is meant for 144hz). Appears in the app (Elgato 4K Capture Utility) that it doesn't support 144hz capture. But I don't want to record in 144fps I want to use 144hz and record 60 fps. But I don't know how to do that. That's the reason I'm writing this here.

The HD60 S+ supports up to 60 FPS for passthrough.

What monitor are you using? It should auto-detect the input and adjust the monitor to 60Hz when using the capture card as a passthrough.

If you have a spare HDMI cable laying around my first go-to would be to replace the cable between the PS5 and the capture card. Hopefully that will fix it. 🤞 You could also give the HDMI ports a lil' blow to dislodge any potential dust, etc.

I think there's some confusion @soft kestrel; you aren't able to capture a monitor directly, instead you capture a source such as a PS5 and a Nintendo Switch. The source is then passed-through to the monitor

i am playing on my laptop (but i use my main monitor to play on it, NOT the laptop monitor)and i have my monitor connected with my laptop by default. Thats how it was and now its basically the same but my monitor is instead of with the laptop connected, connected in the OUTput of my cc(capture card) and the hdmi cable thats connected with the laptop is in the INput of the cc.

and i want to play on my monitor with 144hz but capturing it in 60 hz (it works in obs, but with huge lags)

Okay, I think I understand more now. Sadly, even though you're happy to capture at 1080p60, it still won't be possible to get 144 fps on the monitor, as the maximum passthrough is 60 fps, i.e. this is the maximum framerate that can be output by the capture card, either whilst capturing, or passthrough.

You might be able to connect both the monitor and the capture card to the laptop directly, i.e. don't connect the monitor to the capture card at all. Instead, with them both connected to the laptop, you could set the Windows projection to be "Duplicate", instead of "Extend"

I fear this may still restrict the output sadly. The only alternative, if you truly require 144 fps on the monitor, is to not use the capture card, and instead rely on the laptops built in capturing

Having an issue with the Streamdeck +. Whenever I swipe to move from page to page on the touchpad, after I stop swiping, tapping on one of the touchpad buttons is registered as a swipe and it moves to a different page. Anyone else experience this? Seems like a faulty touchpad.

can anyone help me figure out what is going on with my capture card? I have an Elgato 4K 60 PRO and I have never had an issue with it, but today it just started acting weird. I have my PS5 running into it and I am not getting any video through it. The preview just says no signal, I disconnected the PS5 from the capture card and ran it straight into a monitor and it works fine, ran it into my TV and it works fine, I tried different HDMI cables and no matter what if I run it through the capture card I lose signal.

and then it flashes black and says signal, but then goes back to no signal in under a second and continues to do that.

Somehow it was enabled though and that is exactly what was wrong. So thank you, I hadn't even thought to check it because I don't mess with my PS5 settings ever, I have never touched them since I set it up. So strange that it somehow got enabled mid gameplay...

Having this issue where whenever I enable the NVIDIA broadcast feature and try to use the Elgato Virtual Cam, the camera stops working and Ihave to turn it all off before getting it to function. It looks great in the preview, but whenever I enable my webcam in OBS or discord, it just freezes and the webcam light on my FaceCam just turns off. (It's the same using NVIDIA Broadcast except when I use 720p30. Then it actually kinda works, although it stutters a fair bit every now and then. 1080p30 is a lot worse.)

Does anyone know what might be causing this? NVIDIA broadcast works flawlessly with everything else which leads me to believe that it's an Elgato problem. I also find it strange that it looks perfect in the preview, but it instantly freezes when I enable the camera in an application

The facecam is running the latest firmware, camera hub is up to date and I ended up swapping the USB mode thingy from away from Automatic to one of the other values which actually made 720p30 work (although with some stutters)

My streamdeck is not recognized when my computer starts and I have everytime to unplug and replug it to make it working.
The streamdeck app is set to run at computer startup and I have everytime a popup device not recognized / failed to ask device descriptor and I don't know why I am having it 😅

Hi guys, I am having trouble setting SD+ knob increments.
First issue I am facing is that whenever I change the value from 5pct to another value, say 1 pct. for a knob, it changes the whole knobs' increments, in all pages
the other issue is that whenever I restart my desktop, the values are set back to 5 pct, so I need to change it with each reboot.

Hey folks, I've got the Elgato lights that I'm having issues with. The Key Light, Key Light Mini, and the led string lights. All of them were setup on a 2.4 G wifi network and are less than 10 feet from the Ubiquiti Access Point. None of the lights are showing up in Control Center anymore and I can't control them from my stream decks. For the first month or so of owning these devices I had to turn them off and then on again every morning when I got into the office to get them to show back up in Control Center, but now none of them are showing up. Any ideas here?

I’m mirroring my game pc to my capture system. Because I don’t have a monitor connected to the capture card output I have to use an edid to tell the GPU what resolution the 4k60 can record in. I see the default ones for 1080 and 1440 but nothing for 2560 to capture 4K Anyone have the custom EDID for 2560?

Hello, I am trying to make a bat file working. It is working well with multiaction (hotkey to open command (windows+r) - Text (bat code file) - Hotkey (enter) ) but I would like to known if it is possible to make it run with a simple open system command : In the app/folder area (button coming from the streamdeck, system menu) I put : cmd.exe /c ""C:\A\rotation_image.bat" & Anno.jpg" (it is a bat file that take the Anno.jpg file to rename it to a common name (I know it works because in the multiaction, the code works) but not with the open system button. Could you tell me what s wrong in the command line ? (I also tried cmd.exe /c ""C:\A\rotation_image.bat Anno.jpg"" without success)

What settings to turn on for a mic are 100% situational depending on your voice, environment, hardware, etc. Your best bet is to turn them off and record some audio and then experiment with turning them on while dialing in what sounds best.

Not necessary if you have a Wave 3. To begin with an audio interface is a device that allows you to connect an audio device like an XLR microphone to your PC which normally does not have an XLR connection.
With the Wave 3 its a USB mic you can already connect it. Just use the Wave Link software and you get a similar experience.

You only need a GoXLR or Wave XLR if you have an XLR microphone.

Do you already have the wave link software? If not you should be downloading it like yesterday if you have a wave microphone.

I can force quit, but if I do, it seems to lose all the virtual audio devices and wants me to plug in a compatible product (re-plugging the Stream Deck doesn't work). wavelink is controlling the audio on your pc it will not adjust the audio in obs, that is something you do separately.

Adding the audio source to OBS would be whats normally called "pre fader" wave link will have no effect on it at all if you do that.

there is a plugin BarRaider has that will adjust with your streamdeck, the audio volume up and down in obs, but that is in no way connected to wavelink.

Hey, I got my hd60 ages ago and I'm revisiting a problem I've had forever. I have a PC setup, dual monitor and I use a wireless headset connected via USB. I use my Elgato to share/broadcast my Switch gameplay, and for most purposes it works totally fine. However, I need to have the source enabled in OBS in order to hear any game audio. Is it possible to play the game "natively" via HDMI, but also listen to the native game audio at once? The capture card solution on OBS is fine for most of the games I play, but for others where there is noticeable input/audio delay, it's a bit of an issue.

I realize this isn't a tech issue specific to my Elgato card per se, but I've asked in so many places and nobody has a clue. In the past I tried to connect a wired headset to my primary monitor (as opposed to the tower) and the audio worked, but then I couldn't hear any audio when my DisplayPort input was enabled

Right that I am fully aware of, but my issue was that with my current setup (Switch gameplay fed through elgato hd60) I'm not getting any audio from HDMI

And I want to view the game on HDMI and not through OBS, because of certain games where the slight input delay is noticeable

If you’re experiencing oddities, I would recommend the following initial steps:

1. Ensure Windows is fully up to date.
2. In Edge, clear temporary internet files.
3. Try installing Chrome, even if you aren’t going to use it, this might update the engine.

And the software does not give a button to update. I wonder if it's because more than one deck is plugged in...

hello, needing help. how does one capture audio from gaming pc through wave link on stream pc? I know that the dual pc setup on the website says to use wave on gaming pc but I prefer not to run it that way for streaming. any help would be greatly appreciated

It's now 4AM and I've just completely uninstalled and reinstalled, to include removing the AppData folders, of my StreamDeck and OBS Studio software. Can someone, in very simple words because I'm exhausted, tell me why it says the OBS version plugin is 5.3.2.10 and the StreamDeck plugin version is not connected. I'm so tired of dealing with whatever this is. 😩

Is the key light is having connectivity issues? If so, you could try assigning it to a static IP address in your routers settings. Usually this can help.

The simplest solution would be a 2.5mm 3.5mm aux cable from your gaming PC headphone / speaker port, to your streaming PC line in port.

I did take a look at your video to guide that process but what i encountered is that when I added the Audio Capture, was that now that when I lowered the volume through the dials it wouldn't change for Streamlabs

when you route your audio in wave link it's controlling all audio on your system, however, some programs have their own audio where you have to control it manually, and OBS is one of them. I've been asking for a baked in/native OBS plugin that does what you're asking for streamdeck, and now more so for the dials. @snow sluice you think you can make your plugin work with the dials?

Hello everyone, there is MASSIVE input delay when I use my Stream Deck Pedal and Autohotkey combined (which remaps hotkeys and stuff).

I use the pedal to hold modifier keys such as ctrl or alt to hotkey. The delay ONLY happens when I use my Autohotkey script with multi-key remappings such as <^Space::g (left ctrl + space = g). It goes away if I remap one of my pedal's keys to keys such as "a", or by using remappings on AHK such as a::b (a = b.

Hey guys I have been running some issues involving my 3.0 port. Whenever I plug it into my computer, I would get a pop-up notification saying that the PC does not recognized the usb. I have even tried to buy a replacement but it still had the same problem so I have concluded it Hass to do with something with the computer but I don’t know what exactly. So the gaming PC is supplying audio to the streaming PC, via the optical port on the GoXLR (which is connected to the streaming PC). Just making sure I fully understand. 😅 If that’s the case, I believe it should just be a case of adding the GoXLR’s “Game” “Console” device into Wave Link.

I figured it out! I had to swap the "Console" (it's console and not game audio when it's through optical) to only "Broadcast Stream Mix" and then add the Broadcast mix into the wave link

Hello, recently my capture card started to act up and has very low frame drops, I’ve tried different usb ports and nothing seems to work. The official app just says USB 3 is required for this device, and won’t show me a picture. I’ve even verified I am using a usb 3 port. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I am having an issue with the noise cancelling from Nvidia Broadcast, whenever I have it enabled, I get audio stuttering and severe (read: uninteligible) glitching in games, such as Apex Legends. I had a bootleg capture card that had no issues aside from really bad screen tearing, it was bad enough I ended up getting an elgato hd60 x.
Problem is, and this is random, while I'm streaming on discord for my friends, my OBS just freezes completely, forcing me to restart the program. When I do re open OBS however, my whole PC literally freezes and I can't do anything except manually shutting down the computer. It really sucks.
The only reason I can think of that this is happening is my gpu is a nvdia geforce gtx 960, which doesn't meet the required 10xx or better.
Could this be the reason? Asking because I really don't wanna spend tons of money for a new gpu if it's not going to solve my computer crashing every 15- 30 minutes.

With the latest update I've lost the ability to use Wave Link's channel (Game, Browser, Chat, etc) with the Stream Deck. It seems this ability no longer exists? I now have Volume Controller but this doesn't let me set 'channels' as it's based on executables so I can't fully configure a page to control everything.

Hi, Can anyone help me with Capturing 1080p 120FPS with OBS?

I have HD60X

The input is 1440p SDR 120Hz

As the website says, I should be able to capture 1080p 120FPS

but no way to get that on OBS, match source gives me 60FPS not 120, I tried many settings and weren't successful to get that

change type to advanced, set your recording format to mkv, see if your can change your encoder to your gpu. how is your streaming setup?

yes, but personally I encountered issues after with the software camerahub not switching to obs when in use. it stays in preview mode on camera hub. The again, yesterday went well. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So, phone sometimes has trouble connecting, but when I got it to work over WiFi it was working perfectly fine, until suddenly in OBE it stated that I needed to connect a camera to Camera Hub, but in Camera hub everything seemed to be working. Also troubles using 2 epoccams but that’s not a bit problem

No matter how many times I uninstall wave link and reinstall it it doesn't work at all with my wave 3. None of the audio channels function, I've set them all correctly in the audio mixing settings.

Spotify as an example won't even play with no sound, it freaks out and says it just can't play the track.

@thick osprey yeah thats right, k100 shows up in icue and i can control the lighting and key assignments. but for the g-keys specifically, they have it so u can assign functions like you would on a stream deck through elgatos app. it should show up on in stream deck app as a another device but its not anymore. it hasnt worked for me even when i go back multiple versions for both

I suggest learning to use Davinci Resolve, really good editingsoftware and you can simply just delete the last 10 seconds if you like

So after doing the new wave xlr update, I've come across an issue where now the game audio input channel doesn't work? Not as in there is no sound I think, but I will set the games sound output to "Wave link Game" in the system sound settings. but it just completely ignores it and plays directly into my headphones.

I've tried deleting and remaking the channel, restarting my computer and instead setting the output for the games through different channels like music and system but all my games are completely ignoring the wave link and playing directly into my headphones

Is there any obvious reason my WavelinkSE fails on windows startup? Whenever my PC restarts the Sound Engine seems hung and I have to force quit it, open Wavelink then when I see the Insert a compatible product prompt, run the wavelinkSE.exe again to get it working. I've tried reinstalling it multiple times, but seem to get the same issue every time (at least now I have a workaround, previously I was reinstalling it every time). I'm using it with the Steamdeck+ if that is relevant.

Issue< When I fully power down my computers at the power source and then turn them back on my Facecam looks all overexposed. The settings are exactly the same that I saved but the end result is very different.

I have to "Reset to Default" via the Elgato Camera Hub then put the same settings right back in from before. Then the camera will show correctly again. I have to do this EVERY time. 🤦‍♂️

Side Note: I use a Home Kit controlled VOCOlinc Smart Plug Mini WiFi Outlet Socket to fully cut power. Reduces power costs, it does make a difference.

I just got an Elgato FaceCam. I wanted to extend the cable but the camera doesnt work anymore then. Do I need a special cable for that? The icluded cable is too short for my usecase so I need either an extension cable or a longer USB C cable. Antother USB C cable I have didnt work

You need a USB cable that supports data transfers

Hey guys, having a strange problem with the audio coming in from an Elgato hd60s+. Just upgraded to a better streaming laptop and the sound coming into both obs and the game capture utility is unusually low and a little bit distorted. It was working fine on a previous laptop but now it’s not. I’m pulling my hair out trying to figure out exactly what is going on so any help would be appreciated
