Even without, a perk of the Key/Ring Lights is that you can adjust the light temperature and brightness.

That was something I thought was nice when I installed new ceiling lights in my room, so I could make my room dimmer even through my phone too.

You can absolutely make do with just one. If you want to spice it up you can always take a cheap lamp and throw in an RGB smart bulb (~$12 at home goods store) for some accent lighting in addition to the key light.

the POS one they give you gets destroyed after a single use, and now my mic is basically useless

ah, finally got the hand strength screwed adapter off after using 22 layers of electrical tape, pliers, and a vice grip, resulting in the destruction of the mount it was in, as well as severe damage to the adapter... Will not be recommending anybody use an adapter that fails this badly from minimal use force

The beauty of the LP arm is it is almost always out of the way. At that point it comes down to personal preference and cable management. I am assuming the mic is going through the Go XLR, so arm on the left would put them closer together and make for neater cable management.

Recently I tried Twitch Studio, and I can say that the chat comes on the screen real time so you don’t miss it. It may be an option until you do a 2nd monitor if you do. @tight juniper actually tempted me to try it out. It’s good for single monitor streamers. 😻

If I recall correct, it's dependent on File Type and the Drive type the recording is on asFAT32 has a limit of 4GB files. If you record separately in FLV or MKV, then you don't have a limit and files are not split. I personally record in MKV as it wont corrupt if OBS crashes or BSOD, and you can have separate audio tracks for post.

Something I've always wondered about the stream decks: Why does the 15 button SD and maybe even the XL version have a raised tactile nib on the centermost button (on the 15 version) at the bottom edge? Here are some situations you'd want to get a Stream Deck Pedal (if you don't need it then you don't need to buy it, but please note that others do want them for convenience use)

1. I play Valorant and in game it's personally (for me) not easy to click on the "u" button in order to talk to party chat. So I use my Stream Deck Pedal in order to easily communicate and give call outs to my teammates. That one second of trying to move my finger just to hold down the "u" button could end up with me dead in game or not being able to call out something fast enough for my team mates.

2. When you're streaming and playing an intense game with friends in Discord VC. It's easier to be able to mute using Stream Deck Pedal rather than your Stream Deck. We can use Valorant or any FPS game as an example in this case. You'd already be preoccupied using both your hands, one on your mouse, and the other on your keyboard. Please note it's during game where it's hard to take either of your hands off in order to press a button, especially if you need to mute/unmute multiple times in order to talk to your chat / mute yourself on Discord.

Hopefully that gives you some explanation as to when people may use Stream Deck Pedal. Of course there are many other cases, but these are just ones I personally use.

100% does. If you're trying to steam, chat with your friends, chat with your viewers, AND play intense games then yes.

If you don't like it then that's 100% fine. Just don't put others down for wanting to use it for their own convenience.

Yeah and with this about clicking 3 times, stream decks are useful as it cuts corners. You can do almost everything without a streamdeck that you can do on a streamdeck, but it cuts corns so you don’t have to do it and makes it more assessable. Eg opening an application, you can still find it, but you can just press one button and it’s there.

Also multitasking wise, if your trying to run a stream, while swapping obs scenes, while talking to chat, while playing the game, while trying to control music, it can get a bit much. So you can just use a deck to make it happen in one click

Is it needed? No. Is it helpful? Yes

So, I'm not normally one to talk up a product, but I'm hype for the pedal b/c I've been using one of those cheap ones and it is absolute shit lol. I bought a ~$25 yellow and grey one on amazon and had to download software from some website completely written in Chinese to get it to work. The software wouldn't work on my computer (probably a me problem), so I had to download it on a linux laptop and change the keybind there. It works now, and I bound it for the scroll lock button so I can use it for different apps. I like the idea of the pedal though b/c I get 3 buttons instead of 1 and can set it up for different apps. Right now, I'm excited about using it for Squad and DCS for multiple chat channels (ex: Squad has Command voice chat, Squad Voice chat, and Local voice chat. Having 3 foot pedals for that instead of having to reach across my keyboard sounds AMAZING imo).

@obtuse flume I have a Space Mouse Pro that I'm not very good with yet but also a Stream Deck XL. I love the XL because I can automate so much with it. I can write .bat files to effect my system such as I have a Wacom Cintiq 16 that with a button press can change the screen orientation from horizontal to vertical. As well as snapping windows to certain sizes on different monitors. 1 button can easily open 4-5 programs and adjust them appropriately to my screen real estate. I also have a script to where I can click on a link from a spreadsheet and it'll copy it, launch a custom Chrome window to a specific size. Soooo versatile.

Immediately I could see myself using the pedal in something like Bender to cycle through workspaces, or even have it cycle through chrome tabs or applications.

Well for example for me I'd just want one knob for master volume, because my volume needs to up and down just during my day and just a little tweak here and there would add to my comfort.
Example use case for me: I play a video game where in a lot of it, I've got spotify playing because I don't really need much of the game audio. However in some areas, I need to turn down spotify. Currently I do with the volume up/down buttons for spotify control through streamdeck, but i'd like quick granular control.

Because when you're at your computer for 12+ hours a day, these little quality of life upgrades are worth it.

Sorry that happened to you. I had an issue similar, but it’s because I was using VPN. I had to call, and they had to make sure account wasn’t flagged for fraud, before I could reorder stuff. Call and see if this may be the same kind of issue.
