rebooting/turn/on/off fixed another monitor issue unrelated to my current issue
Welcome to the life of streaming. Where you can spend three days trying to fix something and fix it with a reboot for something else š
no sound!
ā”ļø
mute the audio source labelled in the mixer, and create an audio input and select your capture card.
first one right?
marketers dont advisertise this LOL!
yes sorry I was editing
facts
it took me two hours but i fixed it ~
ugh
thx for tagging along
Update on this. I got a HDMI 2.1 splitter today and split the signal out of the PS5 to both to the 4K X and the TV at the same time. This gives me a perfect back to normal picture on the TV without color banding. However in the recordings I still get color banding (even though I thought I didn't, but looking now full screen yeah, its there) and even at 60hz there is still color banding in the recording and microstutter. I need to fall back to my HDMI 2.0 cards for recording now.
Would the AMD Ryzen 5 7500F be sufficient for the 4k60 pro?
Do you reckon the 4k60 pro would look goofy right above the graphics card?
Itās the only place to put it if I got it
It wouldn't fit the port
It requires a 4/8/16 port, that above your GPU is only a X1 slot
so it doesn't fit
Ahh okay right
Yes Iāve done that nothing has changed I got the Elgato HD60 X
The carpture hardware doessn't generally support switching back and forth between Black Screen or No Signal. It just does on or the other. Some of the apps will throw up a no signal screen if the card doessn't though. OBS it not one of them.
Hi im trying to use my Elgato Game Capture Neo which is hooked up to my ipad and whenever I go onto obs this happens and the only way to fix is if i unplug the capture card like 5 times which feels unnecessary
If unplugging it for a few minutes works, it sounds like another app might be fighting OBS for control of the card. Check in the Windows Privacy settings under Camera, and check the recently accessed pulldown to see what apps are making camera calls (as the capture card shows up as a cmaera). Check that any on that lisst aren't usisng Neo as their default.
Probably a different revision then. CamLink 4K has been around a bit, I know it's had at least one minor hardware revision that Steggy talked about on the last Product Q&A discord, possibly more.
i have the elgato 4k60 mk2 running two pc setup and for some reason when i have it running it will cause my pc to hitch/ freeze for a few seconds or crash my game when tabbing or closing it any ideas how to fix
i unplugged hdmi from main pc to test if it was that and ye it was
ive even tried diffrent hdmi cables
Which PC is having the issues - the streaming PC or the Gaming PC?
Also if you're using the games in fullscreen try borderless intead
is there anything else you're using for audio?
I only have a standalone mic that my headset connects to wired but I donāt have a chat link is there any other way around it
what are you capturing? console dual pc?
Iām using my laptop for TikTok studio Iām capture my Ps5
do you have your capture card audio as a source via a mic input or a source audio?
Iām new to all this so idk š¤·
can you post your screenshots please
Sure gimme a sec just turning my laptop
My Elgato HD60 X is displaying a darker screen than normal on OBS Studio. Ive tried capturing an iPhone's and an iPad Air's screen and the screen always displays a seemingly darker or lower opacity than normal capture. I've tried a cheaper capture card and the screen looks just fine. I've tried many tutorials on this matter and none of them worked. Is there any possible fix to this? (The receiving end is a Desktop Windows 11 PC with an RTX 3060 and Ryzen 3 5300G).
is HDR on?
Ive recently got the elgato 4k x external capture device.
It captures okay and I see the gaming in my 4k utility but when I select the 4kx in Tiktok it's not showing anything on screen. It does not happen all the time it's a 50/50 chance. So then I have to capture the utility.exe to show the content. Any advice as to why it could be happening
(This also happens In OBS as I thought it might just be Tiktok)
Thank you
how would I check?
Try a different usb 3.2 port
Via console make sure itās off, or turn tonemapping off
In 4k capture utility
Settings
Ive turned Tonemapping off on the Capture Utility and the same result happens
Is HDR off on your console as well?
Im using Mobile
Would that still be if I can see it in the utility software. I will have a look at other usbs
Hey guys I've been using the cam link 4k for awhile and have had a problem with my camera going from crystal clear to grainy on and off during my streams, does anyone know what could be causing it? I have a video of it if that would help!
I have a video of it if it's okay to link Twitch clips!
Sure, link the clip. Curious to see what this looks like
Cam Link 4K uses an uncompressed video feed to the PC so any issues like thatare likely to be either the camera itself or something on the stream settings itself.
Here it is! https://www.twitch.tv/lisaschillin/clip/RelentlessPatientRabbitCopyThis-tt9eSoJaYpvTER9Z
It's weird because it's just my camera quality nothing else gets affected....(i think?)
You're talking about around 5 seconds?
Yes! It loses quality for a second then goes back to normal
Based on what I see that looks like normal video compression side effects.
What is basically happening is you switched to the other menu and in the process cause a lot of change in how things look.
This causes the encoder (the software/algorithm that compresses the video) to suddenly need to catch up and adapt to what is happening. How different bits of the image change depends on how some things in the encoder are optimized.
You'll notice at the same time, the menu is also really fuzzy and then clears up as things stay the same.
It happens quite alot I can't tell if the whole screen also gets fuzzy or if it's just my camera
Maybe it's an issue with my OBS encoder?
In that case, when you start looking at the floor and looking around the original image looks and moves almost like noise. Random noise is the hardest thing to compress to a small size in video. What happens there is basically the floor and the rest of the video are needing so much of the bitrate to be compressed, not much is left over for your camera.
Pretty typical.
Based on Twitch's guidelines for bitrate limits and such, there isn't much you can do besides running at the max of 6000Kbps or maybe increasing the quality preset.
One thing you can do to show that is look at the OBS preview and go through these same situations. Your camera will look completely fine since this issue happens during the compression phase before being sent to Twitch.
I think once you look for it you'll notice it happens to just about everyone.
Yes it only happens when streaming !
Is it not really noticeable? I notice it alot now for some reason but thank you!
I changed my bitrate to 6000 and will see how it goes! I'll head over to the OBS discord and see if they can help with my settings if I still have issues
6000 is the official limit, which still is low for 1080p at 60fps. But if you were below 6000, then it should be improved now.
Finding the right settings in OBS can take a little time, but the folks in the OBS Discord will surely have the right guidance there.
Thank you so much!
Hi! I am just curious how you guys use the elgato camlink. It generates some heat even if it's not used in streaming but according to the internet this is normal. I always keep the camlink plugged in since more than a year now because it would be inconvenient to plug in and out all the time. Can it shorten it's lifespan?
It should be fine as long as there's enough open space around it for passive airflow - just don't seal it in a box or anything and it should be fine.
thanks!
are there any capture cards that support RCA without needing to use an RCA to HDMI adapter?
Checking
I saw this. https://www.elgato.com/us/en/p/video-capture
This is weird. Not used my HD60 X (with my PS5) for a week. Literally the only thing that's changed is I've updated my Mac to macOS Sequoia. And yet now when I try to connected to my HD60 X I get an error screen that says "INVALID OUTPUT RESOLUTION SELECTED. HD60 X does not support input signal upscaling. Please reduce the device output resolution".
Works fine if I connect directly from my PS5 to HD60 X to a monitor, but if I try to use capture software I get this message now? This happens if I use any software and choose the HD60 X as my camera e.g. OBS but also using it as my camera in Zoom.
I know when I first got my PS5 I had to downgrade some output settings to work with the HD60 X but nothing has changed on my PS. Also, I'm encountered the same issue with my Xbox One and that has never had any issues with my HD60 X.
hmmm
This usually happens if you're only getting USB 2.0 speeds from the card to the mac. Do you have the card connected directly to the mac? Adapters and hubs can slow things down, especially is Sequoia has a driver issue with any of them, so it's bsed to use a USB-C to USB-C cable direct to the mac. The cable has to support at least 5 Gbps speeds (USB 3.0), and if you do use an adapter it has to do the same. Anything less than that and you'll get resolution errors because of the speed mismatch.
Other than that the only usual cause is if you're trying to capture a higher resolution - eg trying to capture in 1080p when a source is set to 720p output.
Wondering if someone can help me / allow me to pick their brains! ā¦.
Currently iām running a dual pc setup using HD60s and playing in 1080p, when i stream my game play on gaming pc (monitor) which is connected directly to GPU just doesnāt feel smooth, it feels like i have input delay and the overall experience is not good.
I turn stream off and it feels all back to normal again. Is it the pass through of the capture card causing this? I have been thinking of upgrading to HD60X but donāt want to incase i get same issues.
My gaming monitor is 1080p 165hz
the HD60S does have a bit of a delay. The HD60X is a great buy, but if you wanna future proof, 4K X if funds permit it.
my elgato 4k60 Pro MK.2 Internal capture card on my i7 streaming machine has been turning my 1 monitor off and on at random when i go live at streaming once and awhile, what causes that to happen
I have an Elgato Capture Neo and for the first few days it worked perfectly but recently the Status Light would start flickering white and the capture would either be Black (with audio) or "No Signal". It's plugged into a USB HUB (which I have to use due to my mic and keyboard) in my Macbook and the console I'm capturing is a Xbox Series S. š
(Unplugging & Replugging the USB or HDMI ports never work nor restarting OBS or the Console)
If you're using a hub the firsts thing to do is always bypass it, even just temporarily for testing. Hubs aren't officially supported (outside the elgato one), as they can introduce compatibility issues. So for testing plug in directly (you'll probably have to add it back to OBS again as OBS usually sees a device on a different port as a new device).
Aside from that it sounds like a potential signal issue. Try setting the Series S to 1080p, disabling features like Variable Refresh Rate in the video modes, and maybe test with another HDMI cable.
Try changing the card's EDID mode to Display in 4K Capture Utility under the settings, in the device tab. Usually that means the card and monitor aren't running exactly in sync which this can fix.
My Macbook Model doesn't have USB ports, just USB-C
You can use a USB-C to C cable, in place of the USB-A one. Hast to be 5 Gbps or faster, so USB 3.0, or some version of Thunderbolt. You can use a USB-A to C adapter as well, though it can be hard to find one of those at 5 Gbps
Arcsane do i change that setting in OBS?
No, as I said, you change it in 4K Capture Utility
i do not have the 4k capture Utility installed on my i7 machine, i am running a 2 pc setup which means i use OBS on my i7 machine while it captures my i9 machine display, and everytime i do that while i am live my i7 computer monitor goes off and on at times
Some settings can only be changed with 4K Capture Utility, though they save to the card when changed. You can't change that setting without it.
when i installed the 4k capture Utility program on my i7 machine, it broke the video capture on my OBS on my i7 machine
I have no idea what i am doing to fix this problem
i am also cloning my computer monitors
I've used an Hdmi switcher to switch between my Xbox and Playstation for 3 years now with the hd60 and then the 4k pro but now that I'm using the Elgato 4K X 4K144 it doesn't want to work with the playstation. Any ideas why that would be?
Haven't changed any settings from when it was working with both of the other cards. Thank you.
@past basin help me please
Don't run 4K Capture and OBS at the same time. Ohter than that they should not interfere with each other
What resolutions are you working wiwth, and is your HDMI switch HDMI 2.1 capable?
i am not running OBS and the 4k capture utility program at the same time, i am just running the 4k capture program only and everytime i turn that on, it breaks everything
i have no idea how to fix this problem, i have tried everything
i think elgato capture was not meant for a 2 pc setup[
It should work perfectly fine.
If it doesn't work with the app reeach out to #official-tech-support or just uninstall it once you've changed the EDID setting
Arcsane quick question, would a very old nvidia video card also cause the monitor to go off and on with the elgato capture stuff?, i am running a nvidia 1060 video card 3GB on my i7 machine
What can I use for a mic if my headset has no mic but I got a chatlink pro @warped ledge
@past basin could you help please Iām struggling
Why do I get this
sprisa do you have your video capture all ready opened up in your OBS
I turned my resolution down to 1080 which is what I play anyway and it started working
For the in game chat or your viewers?
Both but I got a stand alone mic
The standalone mic should be for your streaming PC, but youāll need a separate one like the controller for your party chat or a headset with the mic.
Oh okay
It should usually be fine unless the settings are messed up on the GPU. Try disabling things like Gsync if that card even has it.
Most USB capture hardware, including Cam Link can only be used by one app at a time. Looks like Logi Capture is running there and using your's. Either turn that off (or set it to a different device), or you can just turn off the Camera Hub preview if you're not using it with the eye icon down in the bottom right.
For future refrence though, CamLink questions should go over in #camera-prompter
I am in the initial steps of making a video about this (how the 4K X is basically a lie), but before I do can anyone, absolutely anyone verify that the 4K X can actually handle 4K 120hz VRR HDR in GT7 (where you can notice color banding in the sky, other games might have it but you cant notice) without color banding? I am just looking for one single video showing the PS5 in 4K with 120hz active and 120hz selected in GT7 without lines of color in the sky (so on a track with clear skies in the middle of the day). So far I have found three people with the 4K X and GT7 but all three experience color banding, so 100% failure. But if I am wrong about this and there is some way to make it work I would love to be corrected now. Surely Elgato tested this and can show it works? Please prove me wrong here.
Are you seeing this in recordings, preview or both? And I assume a standard PS5 not the Pro? also wwhat app are you resting wwith, and did you disable the automatic tonemapping already, so I can setup more similarly.
Going to take me a bit of time to setup this as I only have a 4K60 for my 4K so I've got to bypass my passthrough and a HDMI 2.0 switch setup and record only with the card.
Actually ignore tone mapping. I forgot you'll need that on because the card can't capture in HDR at 120, so it needs tone mapping for that
I see it in both preview on two different PC's and on two different TVs via passthrough . Also tested all cables and do not see banding from the second output of a HDMI splitter, so the console isn't the source of the issue. Also it's the same on the PS5 and ps5 pro.
Ah, if it's happening on passthrough there might be a issue with EDID negotiation. What did support say about it? Sometimes they'll hit an odd situation and need to setup a custom EDID for specific setups.
If it wasn't affecting the passthrough I'd have assumed it was the tonemapping paired with the MJPEG compression used at over 120Hz. But the fact you're seeing it on the TV through the passthrough circuit implies some sort of mode negotiation may have failed. HDR10 on the display not the new 12-bit stuff right?
I can test for capture and preview, but don't have a 4K120 display on hand to test passthrough.
Do you get it in multiple apps on the PC? I'm assuming so
Support said have you restarted the PC.
They open with the standard stuff everytime, yes. Once they get through that they escalate to the next level
Did they have you run the reporter tool or anything?
Actually one way to see if it's EDID issues - unplug whatever is in the HDMI out port of the card, run the PS5 direct to the card, no splitter. Go into 4K Capture Utility and set EDID to Internal. You want to view the capture to the card with nothing else connected to the setup. You need to get the PS5 to redetect modes after this - either disconnect andd reconnect the HDMI cable after changing the EDID settings or run the 1440p mode detection on the PS5 which should also run the detection. Then see if you still get banding in capture or preview. (I'm assuming the tonemapping was left at defaults since you're running 4K120 and are going to need that on)
Yeah already done that. The PS5 shows all modes as normal and I still get banding in the preview.
I'm updating there now and should be able to check in a bit. Haven't played GT7 in a bit.
Know what firmware version your card is running at the moment?
oh and yeah I ran the reporter tool, it saw some obs crashes or whatever, normal things. It also saw that my GPU drivers and obs versions where all up to date, yet they still told me to update to latest versions as if that isn't the first thing I did. I am not at home right now to see what my firmware is, but its 100% the latest I can get via the 4K app.
@past basin thanks for your work on this. Ill either be able to narrow down an issue to mine and others setup or confirm the issue
K, when you are back might be worth double checking to be safe, but should be this one
Actually just got a new email from support, they need me to run a tool to capture the edid, so Ill run that on both pcs and both TVs and see what it says. Ill respond to them and also post here. I have noticed that all people I have contacted all have the issue and all have LG OLEDs (of various model years). But given that when you are looking for a 4K120hz TV its a no brainer to buy one of them so its not hugely suspicious that we all have the same TV. Still could be something there.
Could be. I'm just finished some initial testing as well - if I setup to record in HDR from the 4K120 source signal, (HDR is limited to 30fps recording at 4k, and requires some seutp), I get no banding. If I let OBS or the card do the tonemapping there is a varying amount of banding. That kinda makes sense though since it's remapping 10 bit HDR to 8 but SDR. May be able to smooth it more with some lookup tables (LUTs), but that's a bit outside what I normally poke with.
Recording in HDR (OBS - 2160p 30fps, 2100 pq, P010 , HEVC)
Recording HDR to SDR (OBS tonemapping, from p010 capture to nv12 output)
Recording HDR to SDR, 4K X tonemapping, from nv12 to nv12
Source was the same 4K120 VRR enabled, HDR enabled for each sample
(as a note 4K X's recording modes that support HDR capture can be found here: https://e.lga.to/4K_X_Resolutions ) At 4K it can only record HDR at 30 FPS (or at a lower resoluiton at 60 fps), though souce can eb up to 144hz.
That said, tonemapping should NOT be applying to the passthrough signal at all
So hopefully support can figure that bit out
The whole point of passthrough is it bypassses all the signal processing so you don't get added latency
Also a HDR recording sample from 4K Capture Utility
And a tonemapped SDR version. Same banding with the tonemapping
Ignore the colour cast - discord preview is not liking the HDR one
Locally in VLC is looks fine
That has significant color banding in the sky, seems the same issue. Thanks for the test. Oh and I need to record in 60fps, for gaming that is a must. Ideally it would be 120fps, but that isnt a thing yet.
Yeah, I'd expect the SDR conversion to cause banding. But if you want actual HDR recording at 60 fps with that card you need to set the recording resolution to 1440p or lower (though the source /passthrough can still be 4K).
4K Pro would get you 4K60 HDR recording - but at 120 it would drop the resolution itself, so you'd have to actually drop the source to 60hz.
Again though there's still somethign else going on if it's affecting what comes up on the TV.
That said if HDR is optional, that might fix the banding too
What I actually want is to play normally at 120hz 4K HDR VRR (for optimal picture quality and latency) and to be able to record in 4K 60fps SDR. I have a 4K60 Pro and an avermedia live gamer ultra and used to have to turn off 120hz to record gameplay. I paid for this card to replace the old one and allow me to not have to give up fps or resolution just to be able to record.
You might be able to smooth out the banding with a LUT. The reason youo're seeing it is because tonemapping isn't perfect since it goes from 10 bit colour space to 8. Some people will setup custom LUTs for specific games where they see issues the standard mapping doesn't work with
Other than that you might have to wait for a newer card to be able to record 4K120 in HDR
though support might have better advice anyway
A lut will not change what is coming through the passthrough. The banding on cars paint and in the sky is very distracting when racing. Also the 4K X is supposed to allow me to do this, Elgato sell it based on that (just checked the site and yes, they specifically say the card can handle what I want), because if it cant then what is really the point of it existing? You'd stick with the older cards. Honestly if it turns out the card cannot do this I am really not going to be kind in videos I am planning. This applies to both Elgato and Avermedia, both suspiciously released cards at the same time with the same issue. Makes me think they both waited for and use the same chip with the same issue. That's speculation though, I might tear them both apart and see if anything in common inside of each.
Wait looking at the site, they also say the 4K Pro can passthrough HDMI 2.1?... Is this new? I was certain that wasnt the case? Ill be testing that for sure when I get home
Yeah, 4K Pro replaced the old 4K60 Pro, and added HDMI 2.1
https://e.lga.to/4K_Pro_Resolutions Note that it has other limits though
It can capture 4K60 HDR but you'd have to source it at 60hz
if you usse 120 it drops the resolutoin
(at 4K, it can do lower)
But yeah, a lut won't be prefcet, but if you can adjust the curve on the blues you might still be able to reduce the visibility of the banding.
I just wish there was someway to fix up this computer monitor going off and on problem everytime i use my i7 streaming machine to turn on my stream
I got a headache from a problem yall got any solutions to this
I recently set my HD60S to my computer from my ps5 I have Logitech g435 Bluetooth headset the only way OBS is capturing my audio is via TV output then I canāt hear through my headset can anyone resolve this,?
Bluetooth headset? So it's connected to your PC and OBS isn't letting you hear through it?
Did you change the EDID after?
Ah wireless, not bluetooth then? PS5 doesn't support Bluetooth.
So id need the splitter for a wired headset?
But yeah - wireless headsets make audio capture a pain. PS5 only supports one audio stream per user. So the instant you connect a headset you lose the ability to capture audio bceause the HDMI audio turns off. For a wired one you could use a Chat Link to split the headset out audio
Does that headset support wired mode?
No unfortunately
So itās the ps5 doing this to my audio not capture card or OBD
OBS
Other than that the only real way to deal with wireless capture is if you have a specific model that outputs a wired feed you can capture too. Or you can sign in a second controller and capture that (though that has some limits for things like chat since it's signed in as another user)
Yeah, most consoles mute HDMI audio when a headset is connected (Xbox has a partial workaround, but it's the only one I know of)
So wired is the way to go is what you are saying
It's the easiest to deal with, yeah. Specifically 3.5mm wireless - USB audio has the same issue as wireless because it's data so you can't split it
Because itās so frustrating to deal with one audio cutting out to one working
I appreciate it
do i change the edid output or do i change the edid input on the 4k capture ulility program
I have no idea how to fix this problem
i tried everything
Change the input EDID mode in 4K Capture. Set it to Display. Also turn off things like Gsync on the GPU on the gaming PC if it has them
would the elgato game capture neo work out alot more better for me at all?
I used my Game Capture Neo after a longer pause, and now the picture my PC receives has artifacts and a color shift problem. It doesn't happen on the passthrough, and I can get a normal picture there. It's only on the software (OBS, Windows Camera, 4k Capture Utility, etc.). Is there a fix for it? I read a similar problem on the OBS forum with the HD60. Also, the most visible artifact is on the Firefox logo, and when starting, you can see that the picture is zoomed in
is the elgato game capture neo alot more better than the Mk.2
No, it's more limited than the 4K60 Pro Mk2
do you mean the neo capture device won't work on a 2 pc setup
I didn't say that. I said it's more limited. It doesn't support nearly as many resolution formats, or some options like VRR.
is there anyway to run a 2 pc setup without using a capture card at all?
Run OBS with the NDI plugin on both computers. Capture screen on the game computer and set output to NDI.
Add NDI source to OBS on stream computer.
????
Is there a way to change the audio format sample rate of my HD60X is Windows 10? Mine is stuck at 16bit 48000... help!
I think this is setup that way.
try a reset
are you needing help? you only posted ???
please don't spam with images, do you need help?
please list your issue and somone can help.
<@&581565551495741448>
ill reset and let you know thx
I think youāre right and itās setup that way. Just did the reset and same thing
so my elegato 4k x was working perfectly fine this morning but when I got on it went away from my sound devices so now it wont even capture my gameplay it almost like it got deleted how do I get it back on here and for it to work again?
Is this a dual PC setup? You're in the playback/output section there which would only be relevant on a dual PC setup on the gaminc PC.
If it's a streaming PC you're on there, check Recording tab instead
yes im on dual pc and this is on my gaming setup
Is the card setup as passthrough (using the HDMI out to go to a monitor) or as cloned screen?
cloned i think
because i was using the hdmi to my pc into the hdmi in and nothing was in the out section
You're going to want to be certain on that - if it's passthrough then in the audio the HDMI entry for the capture card will only show up as the monitor it's connected to via HDMI out. If it's cloned, it should show up as it's own HDMI device, in which case it is missing there.
im certain it was on a cloned and how do we get it not missing
Does the card show up in the Display Settings as the card then?
i think how do i look to be 100% sure
@past basin nvm i found it and yes it is coming up as a display
Hm. I was expecting it would not if the audio component is missing since the HDMI audio driver is clearly installed. If you disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable does it show up in audio again?
no it stays as a display
In the sound section if you right click any of them, is "Show disabled devices" checked? I know disconnected ones are
yeah its checked
And this goes right into a HDMI port on the laptop right?
er desktop
whichever it is
yeah so its going from my hdmi port on my gpu into the hdmi IN on the elgato
Honestly at this point I'd do a cold reboot. Shut down the gaming box entirely. Then unplug power to the capture card (USB), for about 30 seconds. Plug the capture card back in and restart the gaming PC
This looks like a GPU driver hiccup at a glance sicne the GPU isn't seeing the audio channel for the HDMI out there at all
ok i did that and its still showing up as a display
It shoudl show up as a display - we just need it to also show up as an audio output
It's unusual for it to show as one and not the other since your GPU shoudl show it as both
The fact you've got two monitors showing up with the audio driver makes me think the HDMI audio driver should be installed - but you might want to reinstall the GPU driver anyway at this point. Or swap one of the monitors to the HDMI port to see if it still shows as audio there
You don't have anything in Device manager with driver errors do you?
@past basin what equipment do i need in order to use NDI on OBS, do i need to open up OBS on both pcs in order to use NDI and would i need another stream deck as well
NDI is just a free plugin. Google it.
But the amount of difficulty youāve had setting up any of this over time, you should definitely not be adding complication by changing to 2pc streaming.
You need a stream deck for every computer you want to control with a stream deck.
jntracks the only reason why i changed to a 2 pc setup was because when i used to run 1 pc setup, my i9 machine would go to a BSOD everytime i try to stream on it
is there away for me to go back just using a 1 pc setup, without by i9 machine going to a BSOD everytime i stream on it?
We have all struggled to help you over the weeks and months.
I know why that is, but that doesnāt make it a problem we can solve. We are still advised that you should contact official support, with your parents help.
Iām just advising you that changing to a more complicated setup is something you should do only after you have a simpler setup working, and you want to add the extra things that a 2pc setup can do.
I will say that if the cpu is a 13900k or 14900k, intel had a defect with those processors and they can degrade over time and start to crash. So the problem might be that, and not related to streaming at all. You should get it replaced if thatās the case.
on my i9 machine its a i9-9900k and on my i7 machine its, i7-7700
Sadly this is a very real thing right now. Hopefully the CPU is within warranty if there is major degradation.
everyone i watch on twitch people have perfect computers, so why is my stuff always breaking down
take ray on twitch he runs a 2 pc setup without any problems at all
They extended the warranty for all of them. (Reluctantly, they had to)
Recently set up my HD60 X to try and stream my Switch the other night on another server. My PC picked up that my card was plugged in and everything (ie it was recognized as a capture device), but trying to stream it on a VC just shows a loading screen and a blank screen on OBS. The stream shows up fine on the app itself, it just doesn't work when capturing directly from the card itself. Any idea what's going on? I presume this is a common issue when first using one of these
I'll try this: Clarify "shows up fine on the app itself". what app?
Are you trying to use the source in more than one place at the same time, like OBS and discord streaming?
A. By "app" I mean the 4K Capture Utility from the website
B. No, I've tried to stream from Discord and OBS separately. IE I'd turn off device capture on Discord before loading the capture on OBS
if i go back to a 1 pc setup, how can i stop my 1 pc setup from not going to non stop BSOD everytime i stream on it
Ok, I donāt see anything obviously wrong then. Make sure the cards driver is installed? Iām at the end of my knowledge on that one, I think.
Hmm, thought the only thing I needed to download was the Utility, don't remember seeing anything about a driver being needed
Find the source of the crashing.
If youāre using OBS you could try asking their discord. But I donāt see that as an Elgato question unless you have found an issue with an Elgato product youāre using.
Iām not sure. Some of them do, but maybe just the internal ones. I donāt know.
Have you tried different video formats? Maybe some arenāt compatible with discord?
Does the capture utility have a virtual camera style thing to repeat the feed to other apps?
Don't think I saw anything about a virtual camera feature on the Utility
Also ElGato says the HD60X "Has no driver since it's a UVC device"
Discord can be a little picky sometimes but if it's not showing up in OBS then something isn't right. Are you trying to force any custom resolution or something? I don't have a ton of different capture card experience...
No I'm not forcing a resolution, pretty much the set up for me has entirely been plug and play
Yeah seems like you should click add video capture, select the card, and the default settings should show a picture
and then you could think about customizing the settings of the source
oh wait, could this be an HDCP thing?
Well that's what I'm doing on Discord and OBS, selecting the card itself for video capture, but nothing shows regardless
What's that? š¤
do you get a source with a black screen in OBS? like as if the capture card is producing just black? Or does it say something like source unavailable?
HDCP is copy protection in the HDMI standard. Meant to prevent DVD's being copied back in the day. So devices that use HDMI have to use a proper HDCP signal or the device won't send the video.
GPUs and everything have settings for this, Any HDMI device needs to have it set right to work.
But I've seen mention of some situations where it needs to be disabled for capture to work, and I think it tends to be with consoles
Just a black screen in OBS and a loading screen on Discord, no messages about the source being unavailable. And now that you mention it I have heard of HDCP before but idk if the Switch has that. As for the GPU side of it, I have a 4090 for the record. There's prolly a feature to turn HDCP off in the Nvidia control panel thinking about it now
Generally you want it left on, for things to work. but I think it might be that if the switch sees the capture card as something other than a monitor, it might disable video. So... the solution might be to disable HDCP on the switch
Oh on the Switch, don't remember seeing a setting for that on it but then again I've never had to for capturing footage on it before :y
That's what I would be googling. And if you can easily do so, maybe connect the passthrough from the capture card to a monitor or TV and see what you get
ElGato says it's off by default on the Switch, but enables when running Hulu or YouTube on it. Didn't say anything about it enabling when a card is plugged into it
For the record I've had it plugged into my monitor and TV (so I can still see it on the latter) and can still see the passthru on the Utility. You prolly knew that but I just like to be sure and transparent on tech stuff like this lul
hmm, yeah I would assume you need to use passthrough when streaming a console. I'm just shooting out guesses.
Question for anyone with experience using HD60X:
Can I capture gameplay but also use a Focusrite Audio Interface to play the audio/use microphone on my pc?
I don't really understand this question. (and I don't have that capture card, but the principal should be the same for all, i think)
Could you explain what the capture of gameplay has to do with which audio interface your speakers and mic are on?
I'm new to this stuff so sorry if the question is confusing lol If I'm streaming my Xbox through the capture card I'm wondering if I have to use the audio from my Xbox by plugging a headset into the controller or if I can plug the headset into the audio interface
Oh I see. I think the issue is if you want to use voicechat on xbox.
If you do, then that's what the chatlink pro is for, and yes it does mean connecting to the controler and doing some audio looping around to get everything where it needs to be.
If you don't need to use voicechat on the console, then capturing game picture and sound happens on the computer, and then your HDMI passthrough goes to your TV/monitor for lowest latency, rather than playing on the OBS preview.... but you can use whatever speaker/mic your want to assign on the computer, and add that mic as source on OBS. The audio latency might be an issue if you're not using the HDMI passthrough... but maybe you could route from the TV/monitor to a line input on your Scarlett for next to zero latency that way. My monitor has a headphone out as it's audio device, so that's what I would do in your place.
Okay awesome, I appreciate your help! I usually use Discord chat so I should be good. Just confirming before I purchase it. Thanks again š
Yeah I think it's about basically using passthrough so your console works as normal but the capture card is in the middle putting game into OBS. And then get your audio from monitor back into your audio interface for your own monitor. Good! Voice chat is the pain on consoles, always.
Awesome, just ordered it! I appreciate the help and your time
Guys, with HD60X you cannot stream on more than 1 streaming software like OBS
??
Because I can stream on 2 different streaming softwares with my 4K pro
I can stream on Tiktok live studio and Streamlabs at the same time
While my friend can only use one app at a time with his HD60X
Or is it some other issue?
That's correct - pretty much no caputre cards let more than one app at a time use them. Expections are the 4K60 Pro Mk2 and 4K Pro PCIe cards which have multi-app support making use of the extra bandwidth on PCIe and the dedicated ddrivers instead of UVC
Sometimes forlks work around this by running a multicam app to create two virtual copies of of the video to use
Hey I was recently given an elgato cam link pro, and would like to setup a stream pc for myself, but the only computer I have beefy enough to even be a stream PC is running linux, is it possible to use the cam link pro on linux?
Thatās a great question. I donāt think they have 4K Capture Utility for Linux yet. You can put in a #feature-request
There are no official Linux drivers for that card. If you're working with Linux you're better off with one of the USB Devices that uses UVC instead of dedicated drivers
I can't even find the card on that list
That may be because it's been discontinued - the supplier stopped making the chipset they use according to one of the Q&As so the card is EOL. https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/4642544014733-Elgato-Legacy-and-End-Of-Life-Products
Yeah itās legacy
oh well then that whole idea is cooked then
none, so you want me to uninstall my gpu driver and reinstall it?
Hello! I plan on using a Macbook Pro M4 Pro Chip as a streaming pc with my Elgato Game Capture Card HD60 S to capture my gaming PC screen for recording. I've tried a few times but then I realized OBS Link isn't compatible with Apple Silicon Macs. Is there another way I can use my Mac as a streaming PC? Thanks!
The hd60S is not Mac compatible. You need the hd60S+ (or some newer capture device)
(That was, in fact, the difference between the s and s+)
ohhhh I see, thank you so much! š
I guess thatās why they made OBS link, as a stop gap until they got the s+ to market
Link was only for the intel macs too. They created that so you could use the card with OBS Studio - the old macs didn't have dedicated drivers for the cards so without Link you were stuck with just Game Capture HD
But yeah, the UVC ones like S+ make things a lot easier
Yeah, I'm a bit lost on what's going on there. We're missing something or the drivers are borked I think. I'd run DDU (Display Driver Utility) to remove them entirely and install the latest. When reinstalling do a custom one and make sure it chooses the HDMI audio driver
how do i do a display driver utility?
You can try without it first if you'd like - but otherwise you can get it here: https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/ It's designed to fully remove GPU drivers, though can be a bit of a learning experience the first time
Intel oddly has one of the shortest guides for running it -= https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000091878/graphics.html
ok so i did the intel one now im just installing my driver on my gpu do i click on perform a clean installations in installation optins in nvida?
Sorry I made an error there - where they say select the intel one you should select he nvidia one
after that you won't need a clean install (though it doesn't hurt) as the NVidia one will be cleaned up by DDU first
you mean this?
Yeah
perfcet
Then yeah, just go through the Nvidia install again. DDU should have cleaned it up already but the clean install option won't hurt
Reconnect everything see if the audio for the capture card shows up
nothing in audio but its is still showing up as a display
What on earth š
Can you take the HDMI going into the captuer card and plug it into one of the montiors and see if the audio shows up that way?
yeah and still not showing up
So the monitor you just plugged in that way isn't showing up either?
And you double checked that "display disabled devices" is on right?
Maybe swap that HDMI cable
yeah in the audio settings it says all the same stuff
ok ill swap the hdmi or do you think also it can be the usb c cable?
I'd go with the HDMI cable first. It's the Gaming PC not seeing HDMI audio as an option near as I can tell
So that'd be the HDMI
And you made sure the NVidia Driver installed the HDMI audio driver when you installed it right?
the HD audio driver?
anyone able to assist with xbox audio delay on hd60x into OBS?
Found out what my issue was, turns out I couldn't capture the card directly cus I was running the capture utility app at the same time :y
That's the one yeah. I've no idea what's going onhere
It sounds like the GPU just doesn't see audio over HDMI, since you also tried it with a monitor with no effect
If you haven't already mute the card and add it again as an audio input capture. There's an issue with OBS and pulling the audio thorugh the video feed on some setups
Ah, that'd do it. Glad you sorted it out
ahyurp
hmmm is there a way to like reset the elgato or something like that in my audio drivers to make all the audios reset or somthing liket that
I mean, you replaced the Elgato with a monitor and it still didn't show audio - that implied the error isn't the card
Usually it would imply the GPU
You could work around it with an aux cable and a ground loop isolator - use the analog audio mode on the card
and speaker out on the gaming PC
the only reset on the card though is in the settings in 4K Capture Utility - there's a reset defaults option there
ok ill try that one
I appreciate it, but still no luck. With that setup I cant hear anything at all. I'm new to this so it could be me
When you switch it over don't forget to use 4K Capture Utlity to switch the card to Analog audio mode
Don't forget to set the audio input to monitor if you want to hear it, in the advanced audio settings
YESSSSSS its fixed, thank you so much!
Glad you got it sorted out
Why is there no sound when I plug my headphones in this
Sometimes before I actually hit the record button thereās anywhere from 20 seconds to a minute of footage before the recording button is actually pushed. Why does this happen?
Thatās an audio in Jack and no you canāt plug your microphone into it either
How do I hear the sound then
Do you have a monitor that has a headphone Jack or get the audio out from your computer?
The only monitor is connected to the streaming laptop
So youāre not running it to a console or is it a pc setup?
Iād suggest having one of the laptops using a flatscreen that has a headphone Jack. And they will hear your audio while streaming. I run all my consoles through the Elgato but have a flatscreen for the audio out using headphones and a usb microphone plugged into my MacBook
That's an aditional audio input, not an output. You connect to that if you have a secondary audio channel like voice chat from a console. The game sound can be included in the HDMI.
If this is a dual computer setup, you''ll either listen to the audio in your streaming app with monitoring turned on, or you'll hook up audio on the gaming computer too, and use an app like Sound Capture, Ave Link or Voicemeeter to split the audio to go to both the capture card and the device you want to listen to at the same time.
Sounds like you have Flashback recording turned on. If this is 4K Capture Utility, you can turn that off in the settings in the recording tab.
It only started happening yesterday itās never happened before that
There's a hotkey that enables it you might have hit. Can't recall what it is off top of my head though
CTRL-Shift-alt-F apparently.
Iām on Mac
ah - you don't have 4K Capture Utility then. What app are you using?
Game capture hd
Ah, you're using the old app. That does still offer flashback recording, but I don't know if the hotkeys are different for it or not. You should just be able to turn it off in the settings
That said, if you're using a mac with an Apple CPU instead of intel, consider using a different app like OBS in the future. Game Capture HD isn't officially supported on apple CPUs and runs in emulation which can cause issues.
Iāve had no issues with it until yesterday itās a minor issue though
Yeah, flashback probably just got turned on in error somehow
I turned it off but the file for flashback keeps appearing in my recording file but goes away when I close the app
Does the file actually grow though? Otherwise it's probably just a dummy placeholder one in case you turn it on
Go through?
No it just sits the re blank
Yeah, it's probably just a palceholder in case you turn the feature on. I haven't used the mac version of Game Capture HD though so I'm not 100% certain. I wouldn't worry about it as long as the recording stopped including the flashback bit in the front
Cool thanks. Yeah i tried ONS but couldnāt get it to work on my Mac it wouldnāt recognise my capture card for some bloody reason
ONS I meant
OBS stupid autocorrect
Which card do you have?
HD 60s
Ah - yeah that's an older one. It's only going to work with Game Capture HD specifically (though you could full screen it and window capture it with OBS if you needed to)
If it's an intel mac you could use OBS Link as well
My Mac is a 2019 model I know itās ancient
Ah, 2019 should be an intel one so OBS link might work - it'll have higher latency than Game Capture HD though
Good to know I just tested it and seems like itās been fixed thanks for the help
Good to hear you got it sorted out
š
ok sorry had to do somthing but it shows it cant find the elgato in the 4k capture utility
What capture card do you have?
4k x
Back on the gneral tab are there any updates for your 4K Capture Utility?
no
This is on the streaming PC right?
gaming
Yeah the card isn't hooked to that PC via USB - you'd need to access it on the streaming one
yeah but like how does it captue my gameplay from my gaming pc into my streaming pc
I have a 4k pro(Pcie) capture card and im trying to capture my xbox series x gameplay
So the problem i have is that i can see the game and hear it from obs or the 4k software but there is no passthrough to my main monitor that i need to play on so for me the (In) Works but the (out) gives out nothing
Please let me know if you know whats wrong
Also im going to be gaming on 1080p 120fps if that matters
Because the HDMI has it show as a monitor to the gaming PC. That signal is what it captures and converts to something it can send to the streaming PC over USB
Does anything change if you set the Internal EDID mode to Internal there, and set the bottom box to the resolution of the monitor?
no its still the same problem
Set it back to display then, that's usually the most compatible. I assume this works fine when the capture card isn't in there? What resolution and refresh rate is the Xbox set to and what speed HDMI cable goes between the capture card and monitor?
yeah it works perfectly find when i have it connected xbox to monitor but then the CC is added the passthrough stops
xbox is set to 1080p 120 fps
and the cable is the one that comes with the Xbox Series x
Test it at 60 and see if anything comes up on the monitor
okay
nope nothing
Hm. 1080p60 is about as compatible a signal as you can get. The monitor doesn't have multiple HDMI inputs that might have been mixed up when you switched them over does it?
it has 2 and I've tried to use both and nothing but even then every time i try it i try HDMI 1 and 2
Rules out a few things. While the monitor is powered on, and the EDID is set to display try disconnecting and reconencting the xbox HDMI cable (either end of it). I want to see if we can get it to correctly pull the EDID from the monitor - sometiems if the monitor is powered off or gone to sleep for no signal when that happens it won't refresh rate (though it's pretty rare)
nothing
another thing is i use this monitor for pc and xbox meaning everytime i use it for pc I switch to Display Port and when i need to play on xbox I switch it to HDMI
so right now there is a DP cable and HDMI plugged in
no idea if that matters and yes ive tried to remove the dp
still nothing
huh
This might be one you'd have to talk to #official-tech-support on
I might be missing something because it's so late here, but it sounds like we know the monitor works, we know the cables work, and it doesn't work in either EDID mode with the display but captures fine. . .
thanks for ur help
this is really annoying lmao 400$ for something that has almost no information on threre own website not youtube
time to wait 4 days because the weekend is here
Will this all work yes or no
They are open on the weekends - but the tickets can take a few days anyway. Try calling them if you've got time between 10-5pm PST.
No spec given for those cables. HD60 X is a HDMI 2.0 card though, and needs HDMI 2.0 or faster cables - it does ship with one cable in the box.
If you're just looking for new HDMI cables, and those are 2.0 ones, it should work.
That said troubleshooting for 4K Pro is largely the same as 4K60 Pro Mk2, as it's the next version of that card for the most part. If you see suggestions for the older card you can usually try them with the newer one.

Oh it's not a HDMI cable, was hard to see in the picture.
It's not fast enough - spec on the site lists "USB 2.0 standard with a data transfer rate of 480Mbps"
Needs to be USB 3.0 - 5 Gbps
or faster
iPad's a no go here. That's a USB 2.0 iPad.
With the usb c docking station?
I'm actually not sure if the Stream Deck can be used as a host or not, if that's what you have in the top right
Still USB 2.0 speed at the port the docking station connects, which slows everything else down.
Ok
will do thanks
so an update on my elgato 4k X capture card, I finally realized what i did wrong in regards to why it wasn't updating the firmware, and when I did that, I was like omg my issues are gone, things were great, was about to email elgato to let them know i won't be returning the product and all that. So i gave it a few days. And then bam... once again, the issues are back, the card turns off on obs and I can't hear or see whats going on on my gaming pc, its a mess. This card is horrendously back for dual PC setups. What a pity.
And this just happened oh man
Are you in a USB 3.2 port?
Okay, that is definitely not normal. If you're not outright returning it, given all the issues you've had and the problems tryign to flash the firmware you had, I would contant support to exchange it for another one. I've never had anywhere near as many issues with my 4K X as you've had with that one.
Agreed Iāve been following along. I think he needs to RMA it.
#official-tech-support you can open a ticket here.
You would need to make sure that the iPad is going to match the speed required for the card. Thatās the first place you need to start. Have you already bought the iPad or youāre planning on buying the iPad?
ok how did i do this?
So, in case anyone saw my previous post in general (and the Black Friday Q&A), I found out that Elgato did indeed used to have a capture card that didn't need a PC... The 4k60 S+. It could save footage to an SD card.
Sufficed to say but... I want one.
why is my capture card making so many flashback files? what is subtrack?
Dis you want flashback? You can turn it off, and this stops.
Youāre need to look for a 3rd party reseller but they are a legacy product, so Elgato isnāt selling them anymore.
I want flashback on but I don't understand why it's creating ao many big files
Are you selecting it as a video capture device or you selecting it under the app?
Yup, that's what I've been doing. It's laaaaaaaame
Flashback recording is going to record a specific interval that way you have certain clips and so those files will continue personally I just go record the entire thing without flashback and then I just create the own clips in DaVinci Resolve
Best of luck to you
Seems like the kind of system youād want is a rolling record buffer, X seconds long; a size that fits in memory, with a hotkey that dumps the buffer to storage.
Like what shadowplay does, justā¦not shadowplay. Configurable and good.
As I search I can find there is a couple of OBS plugins intended to do this behavior.
(Plugins for naming and sorting, I should say; since OBS can already do this replay buffer)
how do i do this john?
Do what? You asked a question about how the capture card sees the gaming PC to capture it to the streaming PC? That's the answer - you either connect the monitor through passthrough (GPU > Card > HDMI out on card to monitor), or the card if connected via HDMI on it's own shows up as a monitor that you either clone or extend to and setup as you'd want.
There's nothing to "do" in that answwer
What exactly isn't working there that you're trying to sort out?
but why isnt any of my gameplay on my gameing pc going to my streaming pc? and which one are we trying to do and its not working because it is show the elgato as a monitor?
How did you hook up the card? Did you run a monitor to the HDMI Out on the card, or did you hook the card up via HDMI only to the gaming PC? (USB will always go to the streaming PC either way)
It sounds like you're probably setup for cloning ot extending, so in Windows Display settings you can try cloning your gaming monitor to the capture card's virtual monitor
so before it stoped working i had the usb c cable from the elgato to the streaming pc and the hdmi from my cpu slot into the hdmi IN on the eglagto
that why im confused on why all of the sudden it not working the way it was working
Did you already set the monitor back to dupliucate to the cpature card? With the changes made before that option on the gaming PC may have been turned off
Other than that I'd go into the 4K Capture Utility on the streaming PC, go to settings, hit reset defaults in the bottom left, then restart both PCs.
ok ill do this and see if it works
what does the purple light mean on the elgato? @past basin
Purple? Should generally be blue or red. Blue for good signal, red for bad (or white for no signal at all)
If they're both on at the same time that's not generally normal
Try restarting the card by unplulgging the USB and letting it rest 30 seconds before reconnecting
ok
ight its blue now
its works now thanks for all your help
Glad to hear you got it sorted out!
I also tried recording in it and it didnāt look well. Not sure if itās a settings issue
Check DMs
The audio and video quality is exactly like that in my laptop
is the pcie hd60 card discontinued? I only see renewed stuff on amazon and some other sites
Yes. It was fully replaced by hd60S+ and nowadays even later cards.
The PCIe one was the HD60 Pro, you're thinking the regular one HD60.
HD60 Pro was replaced with 4K60 Pro, then 4K60 Pro Mk2, and as of this year 4K Pro. But yes it's been discontinued for almost 3 years.
Damn 3 years? I could've sworn I saw one that wasn't refurbished a while back
Oh, OH! Yeah miss-read this
Yes
Third-party retailers might have some that are available, but I would say if youāre gonna spend the money, just save and get something thatās on sale thatās an upgrade
I saw the other one I think it was 4k60 mk2 on best buy (that wasnt refurbished) I think it was around the same price as the 4k pro usually is, but yeah I'll buy the latest one when I can
Is there nothing new that supports 4 inputs now?
There is not at the moment. The chipset that was being used for Cam Link Pro was discontinued as well so what's in stock at the moemnt is all that's left
hi
Hey everyone,
Iām running a dual PC setup and facing a frustrating audio delay issue. Hereās the situation:
I have a 4K Pro installed on my Streaming PC, and Iām capturing the screen+audio on my streaming PC from Gaming pc Screen.
Thereās always a 1-2 second audio delay when recording or streaming anything on the streaming PC.
Iāve set both PCs to 16-bit 48kHz for playback and recording settings.
Iāve reinstalled all drivers, checked configurations multiple times, and even tried unplugging and re-plugging everything, but the issue persists.
This delay still stays even if i screen record on Streaming PC itself , there is delay of audio in everything i record ( if i record on streaming pc itself via display capture / if i reocord gaming pc on streaming pc via video capture device )
Has anyone faced a similar problem or have any idea what might be causing this? Any tips or solutions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
One quick thing: could there be an audio sync offset somewhere if your OBS scenes and audio sources? Make a new, blank scene collection to check.
If that isnāt the issue, A couple questions: how are you viewing/measuring the delay?
The bit about having a delay even if youāre not using the capture card but just screen recording makes me wonder if itās an artifact of your playback of recordings, not the recording itself.
Can you view this video on the stream pc; does it have audio delay when you view it?
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/134685193
if it doesnāt then try to screen record a few seconds of the video and play that back, and finally play it on the game of and record it through the capture card.
This should give a full picture of what how much sync offset you are getting, and where itās happening.
Some offset is almost always inevitable, but 1-2 sec is pretty high.
donāt buy a capture card just get the dou wan app
Im planning to get a new capture card to capture my Gaming PC gameplay on my Macbook M1 Pro since the HD60s doesnt work on the M1.
Would the Elgato HD60X or the Neo Capture Card be best for what I'm trying to do?
HD60X or 4K X are great!
I appreciate you! I think im definitely headed in the HD60X direction
Check for deals!! Black Friday is a thing!
Yup! Thats definitely what im gonna do š
So there is a deal for HD60X check the date it goes live.
Yee! Deal is going on now, so thats my main reason for getting one
Does anyone know how to fix the capture card showing vertically instead of horizontally like my monitor? (Elgato 4k Pro)
Like the source is vertical, or 4K Capture Utility?
it's showing like this
Is your screen horizontal or vertical?
Looks lime a display setting needs to be corrected
my screen is horizontal
my 2nd monitor is vertical
But when i duplicate monitor 2 it shows perfectly fine
it's the primary monitor that's showing sideways
Check the settings for that monitor.
Yea the settings are all good
not sure whatelse to check
Have you thought about making both horizontal? And just transforming the source?
Or just transform this source
Yeah, thatās weird alright, but itās easy to fix in OBS.
Huhā¦
weirdly I kept hitting horizontal and vertical then it just self fixed itself...

Apparently 4K X has a sale starting in Dec.
š
any idea on how much off?
Watching the live stream
Let me ask!
thanks
They just corrected the quote!
Bettt
just keeping you informed!!!
Lol already got the HD60X lol
that's ok!
congrats!!!
they are both great!
You da best
hey so i have a 4k pro capture card and im trying to stream 1080p from my xbox seires x but the quality in obs when i record or stream is Horrible like extremly blurry when i move around in game. Anyone know what the problem could be? and no it's not my wifi connection im using wired 1gb upload and download
what gpu are you using?
also this can helpyou on how to setup https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/guides/broadcasting-guide/
same applies for recording.
AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT
so the guide is similar minus the encoder
use the amd encoder and the rest is pretty much the same.
thank you its a little better but still not as good as i expected so ill have to do more research
what did you have your card properties as?
as in the capture card in obs?
no, not at all. we're just not communicating effectively.
try the settings I have above, and see if it helps
will do
stop being so hard on yourself. you asked for help, and I'm happy too. just promise me you wont call yourself stupid anymore.
surprisingly that's a lot better
promise
thank you
I had a hunch it might be. anything else needs tweaking?
you're welcome!
ill use this for a little bit and see if anything need to be changed or adjusted
awesome!

so i have a questio
does anyone know if it's normal with when booting into a ps5 120hz game the screen flicks and goes black
takes a few seconds for the signal to re appear
Yes, when the HDMI mode switches to 120Hz the capture card and everything have to resync
one more question, when i launch a game that does hdr on my series X it does that black screen flicker thing aswell
i don't get why
Same thing, HDMI mode changes. Xbox home screen is SDR only
hi all, does anyone uses HD60 X with two pcs? i have one and it's been hell to make it work š¤£
Hey guys
I noticed that with 4K Pro I can stream on Streamlabs and at the same time on Tiktok live studio. My friend tried streaming on both with his HD60x but he couldnāt. It was working on one at a time only. Does this have got something to do with the capture cards or something else?
I asked before but I didnāt get any reply or maybe was not mentioned. Tried scrolling but didnāt find my message even
That might be a difference between PCIe cards vs USB. Not sure.. However, if your friend sets up the stream in OBS and then turns on OBS virtual camera, they can send that to any other app. (OBS repeating it for other software, so the capture card doesn't need to have multiple output capability)
Ohhhh yes his is external
I replied to it last time #capture-cards message
Only the 4K60 Pro Mk2 and 4K Pro offer multi app support. They're PCIe cards with dedicated drivers. The others like HD60 X are UVC (USB Video Class) and the OS UVC drivers don't support multi app.
Oh ok, thanks. I think you didnāt mention me so I didnāt see
I don't usually ping folks if it's within a few minutes as it's considered rude on a lot of servers.
Either way, you can work around it partly by using a multicam app that'll create a pair of virtual cams (or one that can be shared dpending on the app), but software to clone the video to two virtual cameras is probably the only workaround I can think of for this.
It does keep your apps like OBS ot Twitch from being able to change video settings for the capture card on the fly though
Oh ok, good to know. Thanks
Oops just seeing this. I assume that's a USB type C port? If so yes. I think?
Yep totally not normal.. been having issues since day one.. thankfully I have warranty so elgato will send me a new one
Make sure itās 3.2
Once Iām done waiting for a call, I can help.
How do I make sure of that?
Sure š
Thanks I appreciate it
Capture card works fine in OBS but 4k capture utility shows it is in use by another software. I have tried everything. Privacy settings, shutting down apps, unplugging and plugging back in. Any help?
I tried unplugging and replugging it again and now it shows "1920x1047p60" is not supported
This app is killing me...
Now it shows a USB communication issue
What is going on?? Everytime i unplug and replug it back in its a new error
Its in the same 3.2 USB port it was in the last time it worked
do you have any windows updates pending? or drivers/bios etc?
No, I am up to date
It used to work perfectly fine. I took some time away and came back and now it is doing this. It used to sometimes do this, but unplugging the usb would always fix it
Is there another app/alternative? Just need to output the video to obs and tiktok obs. Like i said it works perfectly in normal obs and tiktok by themselves
Im 99% sure there is an issue with the app because it works perfectly in other apps
Are there any alternatives to output capture card and send that video feed to multiple apps? 4k capture utility is flat out not working anymore lol
not with an external capture card.
Wait I have an idea
I don't know if 4K X can do that. Never tried it.
I can use the capture card in OBS and use the windowed projector feature
that might work.
No way it actually works lol
Well, ig ill do this until 4k capture utility decides to work
if you have enough followers on TikTok, you might be able to get a stream key, and url, and use obs directly with AitumTv's vertical plugin.
Already tried. Even got into that carter pulse agency, aint got one
try contacting them directly. maybe use X. š
Yeah, NDI is the answer. Capture card to obs and use the NDI plugin to steam that feed via NDI to as many apps as accept NDI.
Might check it out. The windowed projector feature in obs seems to do the trick for now at least
can anyone reccomend a good hdmi splitter that works with the elgato hd60x
one that supports 120hz
Why do you need a splitter? HD60 X has passthrough built in so you can pass the signal to something else through the HDMI Out. Splitters are very prone to causing issues because the source device can only ussed one EDID, and the two devices on the splitter may support different modes. Also keep in mind that both sides of a splitter get the same signal, so there's genrerally not benefit to using one.
Also 120Hz isn't enough information - you also need to include what reseolution you're trying to run at, as refresh rate, combined with resolution determine how much data bandwidth you'll need and thus what HDMI version.
so how can i get 4k 120 from both xbox and ps5
not going to unplug and replug hdmis all the time lol
that can cause wear on the ports
just trying to figure out a solution been googling for a while now
it's only letting me passthrough 1080p 120hz
so i just found that that the hd60x only supports 1080p or 1440p 120hz which sucks because only a handful of games support 1440p
You'd need a HDMI 2.1 capture card like 4K X to pull that off. Or you could maybe rig something up with a splitter and a downscaler for the HDMI 2.0 capture card, but that'd probably cost more than a new capture card anyway.
ahh damn and i just got this elgato too
i got it before upgrading my display tho not knowing any of this
Depending on where you got it, you might be able to return it and upgrade to 4K X
hmm ok i will check cheers, so then the other thing how would i manage multiple devices that do the 120hz or is my only option to replug them all the time
You could use a HDMI Switch - but they're not officially supported as some can cause issues with things like display mode detection. So mileage varies on them
it's just a big hastle without a switcher really
I use one myself from Kinvo, but my setup is exclusively HDMI 2.0 at the moment due to the display, I'm not sure of any that works well with the setup on HDMI 2.1 yet
Though I think Vic might have one? Or was looking for one, cannot recall
But yeah managing multiple devices with it can be tricky
the brand is kinvo? never heard of it
Yeah I hadn't either, but was a recommendation I got from someone else.
There's a lot of other ones out there that might work as well, but like I said mileage varies, as a lot depends on the specific switch and how it does the switching.
The most likely ones to work would support 8K, indicating they're HDMI 2.1
damn, thing is there is no point in me upgrading to the 4k X because my hdmi splitter only supports 1080p 120hz
that or 4k 60hz
damn
yeah not worth it lol
You shouldn't need the splitter though - the card has one built in called HDMI Passthrough
That's why they have a HDMI In and a HDMI out, so you can still have it connected to your TV or monitor
while capturing over USB or PCIe
But yeah, 4K60 usually inidicates HDMI 2.0
it only has one hdmi input tho
i need 3 ins
or unless you mean theres another way of doing it
3 ins? Are you mixing up a HDMI Splitter with a HDMI Switch?
oh wait so you use a cable with multiple ends?
Splitter takes in one signal, splits it to multiple outputs (all get the same signal).
Switch takes multiple inputs and lets you move between them to a singla output
HDMI is Male on both ends, I'm talking about a little box that has multiple HDMI ports (female)
oh k
i see what you mean
so i can plug 3 consoles into that box then the output from the box into the elgato
That'd be a HDMI Switch yes. Though like I said not all will be compatible.
But the idea is you just press a button then to toggle between which console goes to the capture card
yeah that's fine
what's the one you use
def would rather that yeah, especially since that way sounds less headachey
It won't do what you're after because mine is a HDMI 2.0, so it won't do 4K120. It's a Kinivo 550BN.
They do have an 8K one (840BN) but I haven't had a chance to try it to see if it'll play nice with 4K X
ah right
I should probably actually look for a HDMI 2.1 switch while the sales are on. . . Right now my PS5 is directly connected to my 4K X
I already sent you a good one via link some time ago.
8K I wish!
i just recently had to set my vsync to 'fast' on my gaming computer and now my 4k60 is really glitchy looking.. is this a know issue and is there a fix?
(4k60 pro mk2)
I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask, but how do I make it so my Elgato audio doesn't come through desktop audio? I have the 4K Pro
Desktop audio is in the global audio devices in OBS settings. Probably everything in there you should disable, so youāre only adding audio to the scenes you want it to be in.
I stopped using vsync, and set up via my GPU.
Agreed with Jntracks, disable desktop audio and create an audio input for the card, and mute the video audio. It should be in sync.
Much appreciated, I got it to work
is there a way to run 2 hdmis from the ps5 1 to tv and 1 to elgato
just trying to figure out a way to keep both high refresh and 4k 60 without having to unplug and replug until i upgrade my elgato
Hi ! I'm having an issue with my 4k x, 4k capture utility doesn't seem to work, all it's showing is "One Moment Please". Here is what I tried and my Setup :
Setup :
R5 5600x
Rx 7800xt
32GB 3200Mhz ram
W11 23H2
All my drivers are up to date.
My 4k x is connected by another cable than the one in the box because I don't have usb c port on my Pc. I made sure to use a cable with a 10 Gbps speed, it's plugged in a 3.1 usb slot.
I've tried to re install multiples times the soft, fresh clean and all.
My 4k x show a blue light. I can see the footage of my switch on OBS, VLC or even windows Camera without issue. I have a lot of latency on OBS and VLC but not on the windows camera soft for some reason (however there is no sound except for obs & vlc).
I've disable the USB thing in the power plan as I was checking on the discord if someone had the same issue, I've tried quite a lot a of things.
My soft version is : 1.7.14 (10283).
When I try to update the capture card firmware, nothing happens and when I click three time the firmware update button the soft crashes.
I tried multiples UBS 3.1 slots. Multiples HDMI Cables.
I tried uninstalling the card drivers on device manager.
Microhpone & Camera usage are on.
Passthrough is working without issues.
I'm not using any kind of hdmi splitter or anything else.
Anything in mind ?
Not without additional hardware, no and even then it's not suggested. PS5 hass only eone out so you'd need a splitter. A splitter runs both outputs at the same signal so if you wanted both ends running at different settings you'd also need a downscaler for the other product that can't support the higher format. Cheap downscalers tend to support only limited resolutions, HDMI 2.0 and can hace compatibilty issues, so you could easily run up the cost of replacing the card trying to get a setup that would work, but with the compatbilty issues you risk with borh downscalers and splitters, be no better off than you were when you started (mileage can vary a lot between models).
yeah looks like my only option is to plug cables then
Does it work with other applications like OBS Studio or even Windows Camera? There are rare casess where 4K Capture Utility may be the hiccup instead.
You should also try hitting the "reset defaults" option in the settings and restarting.
Try downgrading to a previous version like 1.7.10 from https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/sections/5126053814029-Elgato-4K-Capture-Utility-Release-Notes
Already tried it and it didn't work, I'll try a second time but i'm unsure
At this point then I'd open a ticket wwith #official-tech-support to look into it. If it looks like the card works with other apps, odds are somoething with 4K Capture Utility isn't working nice with your setup. They can look into that a bit more
No capture devices found? huh
even after reconnecting the device
Maybe 1.7.11? I'm trying to remember what version was released with 4K X
Yeah, 1.7.11 is the first that'll run 4K X, that's my bad ssorry
still not working
is there a settings in windows I might have missed ?
(even after a restart)
i've tried with others version
and it still doesn't work
None that I'm aware of, but it's possible. There the Privacy settings for cameras which the card shows up as - but generally if it works for OBS and other apps it shsould work for 4K X. You might find a hit as to what's failing in the logs in %appdata% under the elgato folder in 4K X
but that this point I'd usually open a ticket if you haven't already. Is there a particular thing you're trying to get into witk 4K Capture Utility like EDID settings?
"EDID" ?
If you don't know what it is that's probably not what you're trying to get into 4K Capture for. It's one of the handful of settings you can't set with another app
The thing I wanted by using this soft is mainly audio (if i'm not wrong I think there is audio though the hdmi cable?) so that I don't need any other hardware to have games audio without having to connect my headset to the switch. When I use OBS there is a big audio latence for some reason (for the footage too) so it's a bit annoying and hard to play like this
I plan to use the capture card for a dual Pc setup too, and having the audio without latency would have been great
If you'ore getting audio latency in OBS, mute the card and add it again as an audio input capture
There's an issue with OBS on some setups where the audio gets delayed with pulled through the video with DirectShow. Adding the card's own audio interfacee usually fixes that
(there is of course still a touch of HDMI audio latency if you're playing on passthrough display, as thee audio gets delayed to match the captured video which has decoding latency - but if it's considered big latency it's likely the directshow thing)
You'll never get completely latency free audio thorugh the card though as it's meant to sync the audio that goes through it with the video so there's always going to be like 30ms or so, depending on the video settings
but 30 ms is pretty short. Even most high end wireless headsets add 20
and how should I setup it so I can hear it not just the stream ?
I found it
thx
lol, that was quick. Glad you found it
and no audio latency š
Nice
Progress at least. Still no 4K Capture Utility but at leasst that's working as expected now
yes
i'm using voicemeeter too so I set it up so I can hear my switch's audio without having OBS opened
I can just have the camera open to see the actual footage if I need to play without the passthrough
So anyway it works well (and for some reason I don't have as much latency on windows camera app than in OBS or VLC so it's enough to be playable without passthrough if needed!) Hope some of the future updates will resolve my problem with the soft but hey it's working well at least even if it's not in the "intended way"
Thanks a lot !
so i have a question, when i first got my LG C4 tv a few days back i tried to play a ps5 game with 120hz and at the time i had no idea that the hd60x doesn't support ALLM, so i try to boot in the game and the screen glitched then there was no signal and i freaked out
hoping i didn't cause damage but yeah
could that damage it or nah
as in the refresh rate on my new tv
No worries, good luck with it. I'd probably still open a ticket on it to be safe to make sure they can find your issue for future updates though.
alright thx!
120Hz at what resolution? If it was 4K120 it would require a HDMI 2.1 card, and HD60 X is only a HDMI 2.0 which would explain the loss of signal. Automatic Low Latency Mode wouldn't have any effect there - you could just set the display to low latency manually. But generally no, that shouldn't risk damage, it'll just reject the signal.
oh ok well it definately rejected the signal because i had no choice but to eject the game lol
it would have been 1080p cause of my hdmi splitter
what worried me was the screen glitched before cutting out
It was probably just trying to read a signal that it couldn't process. Shouldn't cause any damage
yeah i figured, but i just thought i would ask because i saw something on google about damaging refresh rate i don't even know how that's possible
heyya^^
im new in the serv and im in big trouble
i have a big event in two days and i have a elgato 60hd x who make rapid flashin red led when in plug in
in my tower pc hes work perfectly
but not in my portable
who can help me pls ?
i use obs studio
Hey, trying to work out some kinks to stream some stuff to my friends using 4k capture utility and my HD60 X from my ps5, but i can't figure out why it seems to record my microphone through the game audio as well, even when the microphone recording is disabled
any help is appreciated
Just to confirm it works correctly in your portable computer but not on your desktop PC? What are you trying to capture, and have you tried other USB ports on the desktop already?
If you're trying to capture na Xbox make sure Xbox mic monitoring is disabledd.
it's ps5
Is it recording a PS5 connected mic or a mic connected to your PC?
it's my headset mic, it's connected via wireles dongle to my pc, and im using the game link cable to pass audio from my ps5 controller to the capture card and my headset so i can hear my ps5 stuff through my headset
Is this a dual connection headset? As in it goes to the Chat Link via wire the same time it goes to the PC via wireless?
Also check in 4K Capture Utility in the bottom right - if you see the mic icon there you can just mute the PC connected mic there.
yeah it's dual connection. and in 4k capture utility the mic icon is muted, but i can hear myself in the audio
headset is a corsair virtuoso se\
also if i mute my mic in the ps5 home menu it doens't seem to change anything either
PS5 can't send the mic back so that's likely fine. Chat Link isn't wired to feed it back either, unless your Chat Link isn't plugged in securely and it contacts the wrong pin.
You didn't setup any "Listen To" options with Windows audio, or run any mixers like Voicemeeter have you?
Something would have to be injecting the mic into the Capture Card audio feed if the mic is muted in 4K Capture utility
(or whatever recording app you're using)
What light is on the card? Is your 4k Capture Utility fully updated? Check the general tab for updates
the light is white and the 4k Capture Utility is the 1.7.14 last ver
And the card is plugged in a USB 3.0 or faster slot?
usb 3
Does the card show up in windows device manager under cameras?
yes
Does it work with apps other than 4K Capture Utility like OBS Studio or Windows Camera?
i didnt try
Try that then - you're going to want to know if it's the card or the app that's causing hiccups
it shows no signal with the elgato logo under it
you know what it can be ?
If you'ore getting no signal with an Elgato logo that's coming from the card
Check whatever you're trying to capture is plugged in and the HDMI is plugged in the HDMI IN correctly
anyone can help me i have an issue with my hd60x i cant send audio to my 2nd pc
What sort of audio setup are you working with for it, and do you mean you're trying to send the audio to the streaming PC?
ok so ive done everything i have no hardware other then the hd60x itself , but i cant get audio to my 2nd pc do i need any other hardware or is it supposed to work byitself
yes excatly im trying to send from game pc to 2nd pc
That depends on how you setup audio on the gaming PC? are you trying to listen at the gaming PC at the same time or just need audio to get to the streaming PC only?
yes im trying to listen to my game pc and also send it to my 2nd pc at the same time , like if im playing a video game while streaming
What app are you using to split the audio on the Gaming PC then? It can't go two places at once so if you need to send it to HDMI and a headset/speaker at the same time you're going to need an app for it
how do i do that? you have an software recommenditons?
Which of the two PCs is your mic for streaming connected to? That'll affect it. Also do you have a Wave Mix, Wave XLR or Stream Deck+?
ok so i would prefer to use my headset mic , but i have anther mic that i can plug into my stream pc , and no i dont have any wave mix or mixers
Okay if you're using the headset on the gaming PC and another mic on the streaming PC, the easiest setup is Elgato Sound Capture. It's included with the old Game Capture HD app (available here https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027964072-Elgato-Game-Capture-HD-Software-Release-Notes-Windows ). Install that, run Sound Capture, set it to PC mode and then select the two outputs - your headset and the HDMI/monitor the capture card is connected to
i tried to use 1.7.11 and then it works but thanks bro
ok im going to try that and let you know , thank you
obvisouly i download this on game pc right?
Good to know - if it keeps up, and only the older versions work, reach out to #official-tech-support to look into it
yes, on the gaming PC
If the HDMI Isn't listed, reinstall the GPU driver and made sure the audio driver for it gets installed
On the game pc right?
Iām pretty sure it is listed but Iām gonna reinstall the drivers just in case
Yes
You should have just been able to install over it in most cases - if it's preventing reinstall of a GPU driver, reboot the PC. What error does it give that it doesn't want to reinstall?
no it doesnt want to reinstall the elgato audio driver not the gpu driver
i dont get an error message or anything at all the issue is i dont see the elgato sound capture anywhere
The GPU audio driver you mean, right?
The missing driver seemed to be the HDMI/DP audio driver since it wasn't showing up as an output.
If you're trying to reinstall Sound Capture don't forget it's part of Game Capture HD, not it's own thing
it was showing up in the audio tab before i unistalled it
the sound capture software isnt the issue right now
the issue is the elgato hardware isnt showing up as an audio device
like it did before i unistalled the driver
Which PC are you working with? The screenshots you showed earlier from sound capture didn't show the capture card?
the screenshots were all from the gaming pc
And that's the one you reinstalled the GPU driver on to install the GPU Audio Driver right? It shoud never have shown the capture card as it's own audio device, unless it was through the HDMI audio setup and you're cloning your display to the card
If the card is connected in passthrough (monitor in the HDMI out) it'll only ever show as that monitor anyway
how did it show up as an audio device before then?
What specifically did you see? Were you looking at the Elgato Sound Capture virtual devices? If those are missing just reinstall Game Capture HD to reinstall sound capture
what happend exactly was from windows settings the input and output were both elgato , even though my headset isnt from elgato i could still here as if i had chose my input and output to be the headset
Yes that's Sound Capture doing that
It overrides the windows defaults so it can do the splitting
If you didn't uninstall it, run Sound Capture again and they could come back. If not reinstall the app
Then reinstall Game Capture HD suite - you removed the incorrect driver here
ok
Reinstalling the app should put it back
but then how do i send the audio to the stream pc
which is the main issue
to begin with
The GPU driver
in yoru graphics driver the audio output for HDMI and DP is often optional
You need to make sure it's installed
Because the HDMI out is on the graphics card that audio driver is part of your GPU drivers
and how do i do that
Okay - now what do you have for a GPU? Nvidia? AMD?
Then install the drivers for that from nvidia.com/drivers and when it gives you the option go through "Custom" and make sure the HD audio driver is selected.
can i do that throught nvdia gefore experince aswell or only through website?
Geforce experience is their older app, it's been discontinued from what I understand, so I'd probably grab the newest from the site
I'd usually go with the Studio one on streaming machines, and game ready on gaming one
Left one is the driver. The right one is their new app that replaced the GeForce Experience one
alright so left one?
yes
while it downloads , this is how many tabs ive had to search to find the issueš
i appricate your help , alot
custom here right?
Yes
What on earth. Did they change this again? Okay let it go through like that, but check the clean installation box
Reboot when it's done to be safe, then start Sound Capture and see if your monitor/capture card shows up as a option in the list on the PC tab
Okay, go to Windows sound settings. Press Windows Key + R and type mmsys.cpl and press okay. On the Playback tab do you see any Nvidia devices?
Right click any of those and make sure it shows hidden and unplugged devicces
There should be an Nvidia device here for your HDMI output. what on earth. For example mine looks like this:
what on earth
Is this a laptop?
PC just means personal computer, laptops and desktops are both PCs
If you go to Windows Device manager does anything show up with an exclaimation mark indicating a problem?
Otherwise I'd go back to the driver site and try the studio driver instead
ok im gonna do that right now
no
If it still doesn't show up as an option in custom, try an older driver.
still doesnt show
there is so many old versions
which one should i download?
same thing on an older driver
You said you've got a 4060 right?
70
Gimme a minute I'm updating my 3070 Ti to see if I can replicate this
tyt
I have no idea why your driver isn't showing these options.
could it that mine is a 40 series?
strange
That's not something that should change, it's been the same for over a decade
You may have a corrupt installation that's messing with it - you can try using DDU to do a completely clean GPU installation, just seeing if I can find instuctions for you
also small note not sure if it matters , i have my pc tweaked by a proffesional who gave me custom windows because i play tournaments
will try rn
ah - if this is a custom job check with them first
DDU will blow away anything they tweakedand they may know what's on the go
idrc about the tweak as much as i care about setting up my dual pc atm
If they've intentionally disabled the HDMI audio on you, you can use an analog cable instead. Get an aux cable, and a ground loop isolator - run them from the speaker out on the gaming PC to the line in on the capture card or streaming PC (I've lost track of which card you had ) Then select the speaker output in Sound Capture as the other output
If it's an external card, I think it was a HD60 X, use 4K Capture Utility to set the card to Analog audio mode when you do this, as it won't switch between analog and HDMI automatically
ive always wanted to avoid using aux cables because before i bought the elgato i bought anther cheap capture card with a mixer and i spent days trying to figure it out , in the end i found out that i have an issue probaly with the hardware on my pc because when i try to plug in my headset in the aux port it doesnt detect anything no matter what
If that happens you may need the latest RealTek audio software for your motherboard
is there no way to get around audio without using the aux ports?
Sometimes they don't do auto switching either
You could do it via network with something like Voicemeeter Banana
i have an msi motherboard
They use a Realtek audio chip
Voicemeeter Banana has something ccalled VBAN that you can setup - though you'd probably have to find a guide for it, as I've never used it myself
some people will do network audio with NDI too, if you can install OBS and NDI on the gaming PC
i have tried even using the voicemeter and watched a full tutrioal nothing worked either
funny thing aswell𤣠i tried to do it today it didnt work either
i might be cursedš
I'd try DDU and the new driver then, it may clean up whatever is going on here. Like I said though it may also blow away whatever tuning they did.
screw it , im doing the ddu and hope for the best
i will let you know what happens
SSounds good - I've got to run out for a bit. If I don't get sniped off by Black Friday traffic on the roads, I'll check in later
best of luck , thanks for your help
No problem, good luck with it!
Did you say this is a pre-built pc? Like you bought it from a system integrator?
no , i custom bulit it
Iāve never seen this before. Any GPU with an hdmi port needs a hd audio driver.
If there is nothing sticking out in device manager and you already tried DDU, you might need to talk to support at your GPU manufacturer.
Ask them why itās not installing the driver for this portion of the device.
so i have to refund the entire gpu ?
Did I say that?
I said ask your GPU manufacturer for support about why this isnāt showing up.
ive just contacted the guy that tweaked my pc
and he just told me that he did disable it
Ah, Arcsane asked about that earlier.
Yeah. Donāt disable that⦠thatās a silly thing to do and you need it for capture cards.
I would get this guy to undo whatever tweaks they did.
They did at least one wrong thing, so Iām suspicious of whatever else they did.
yeah thats weird from him icl
i think im getting somewhere
i see this now
@past basin
OMG FINNALY I HAVE AUDIO ON MY 2ND PC
tysm @past basin
I wanna know Elgato Neo capture card can capture discord iOS mobile yes?
Fantastic! Glad you got it sorted out!
you dont understand it took days , i cant thank you enough
one last question , is it possible to send a headset mic audio to 2nd pc?
Yes - but it can get difficult to manage (or you might want to use a different app like Voicemeeter for it).
if you want to send it over as is with the current setup, go to the Windows Sound Settings again, and under the recording tab find the mic. Go to properties for it, and then the listen tab. Select listen to, and choose the same HDMI output you setup in sound capture for the game audio. You don't have the ability to adjust the mic volume on the fly like this though, so you'd have to adjust the PC volume around it, and turn the whole thing up and down on the streaming PC.
Alternatively you can use something like voicemeeter instead of Sound Capture to do your mixing so you can add in the mic there. Wave Link works as well, but would need a Wave USB device or Stream Deck+ connected to the gaming PC to set it up that way.
(if you switch apps don't forget to set sound caputre to Off first, or it'll keep trying to set itself as the default device)
thank you very much !!
could anyone hop in a call and help me set up audio for my dual pc set up?
cant get my mic across and then using voicemeter for game sound
Yeah, it would work with an iPad Pro out of the box. For most of the other ones, you would need an lightning to USB C adapter. š
How do games work around the monitor pass through on hd60s bc you wonāt rlly be able to play on an a hz or do you just not use that feature
And if I donāt use that feature is it still better to use the hd60 rather than obs
Performance widen
Do you mean you dont want to use the passthrough and just view it through the 4K Capture Utility or OBS for example?
Lightning to USB-C adapters will not work - they're limited to USB 2.0 speeds.
The capture cards will only work with USB-C native iPads that have USB 3.0 or faster (basically all of them with a USB-C port expcept the iPad 10 which is limited to USB 2.0).
Ah okay, my apologies for giving misinformation.
Game Capture Neo needs a USB 3.0 port, the same as the HD60 X you were asking about before. You cannot use a USB 3.0 capture card with that model iPad. It won't work because that model has a USB 2.0 port which limits all the connections to it.
All good, that fact catches a few people off guard.
Ok
If you're still trying to capture the PS5, try using the PS5 remote play app on the iPad to play, and screen capture that instead of using a capture card. It's the only way I can think of you'll be able to capture the PS5 on that particular ipad.
Ok
Hello everyone I hope everyone is having a good day , just a question can I use display port instead of hdmi for the elgato60hd x?
Yes, you can use a DisplayPort to HDMI cable with the HD60 X. The HD60 X supports HDMI input and output, so using a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter or cable should work for connecting your devices.
could anyone help trying to get my wave 3 to work with my capture card and go over to my other pc as mic
You using 4K Capture Utility?
