Hi, I dont have an elgato but I use a different capture card and I am having problems with casting my screen to my pc. It used to work fine but it doesnt for a month. My device is Iphone 13 Pro Max. I also tried it on other Iphones that are Iphone XR and Iphone 13 they both work fine without any issues. What should I do can you please help me

my capture card recognizes my phone, when I plug it in a white screen appears with a QR code about user manual and some stuff but it's useless. Theres also a charging port that I can use while using the capture card and it works too everything is in perfect condition I don't understand

Hey guys, I'm currently using an HD60 X capture card for streaming, but somehow the capture keeps shining red light and both the 4K Capture Utility and OBS show that the output resolution is invalid. The input is my gaming PC with 1080p 144Hz, the output connects with my laptop with 4K 60Hz. The funny thing is, my gaming PC did show up for a second like a few minutes, then when I tried to move my cursor on the gaming PC the capture lost again. Any ideas to fix the issue? I tried those solutions on the official website, but things still won't get fixed.

I followed all the steps and have everything plugged into where it needs to go
However it isn’t displaying my ps5 on my monitor and in obs, it’s not recognizing the Elgato as a source
Now I do have the HDCP disabled
However I realized that my monitor doesn’t have hdr but that’s only if I want to capture in hdr

got it working Make sure in Windows Settings -> Privacy -> Camera, "Allow apps to access your camera" is enabled. Also make sure the device is plugged into a USB 3.0 port.

Hello, recently I took apart my desktop PC to clean the dust on it. However, when I put it back together my monitors only detect the Capture Cards. I’ve unplugged all cords from the capture card that go to my PC and unplugged the Wii U. I’m using HD60 X. Anyone have any ideas?

You could just route all audio over hdmi, and listen on your pc vs console. but chalink/pro can be put into your pc’s audio if your mobo has it, and use it in analog.

Hi. I do own an Elgato HD60S+. I am connecting my Mirrorless Z6 II to it via a micro-HDMI adapter, and then to the PC. When i do change the menus (like i am in the settings menu and go back to the normal shooting mode) the elgato turns on blackscreen. why is that? and in OBS i always have to reconfigure the source for it to be refreshed.

I know a CamLink is what i should've gone with, but this is what i got to capture my xbox in the past and i want to use it now too for "Mirrorless webcam"

well i tried to fix it many more hours sadly without success i still had the same 0.5sec input delay with my Game Capture 4K60 Pro MK.2 😦 then i asked a good friend of mine for help who is a gaming youtuber for over 13 years now and thats also his only job nowadays and he told me that i should get the "Live Gamer 4K - GC573" from AVerMedia which also was way cheaper than my elgato card and i got my amazon packet delivered a few hours ago and tested this new card and its working flawlessly now with 0 input lag. i think i'm gonna sell my 2 years old elgato card on ebay since i dont need it anymore.

how come on 4k capture utility when I try to do a flashback recording for a small clip it saves the entire timeline instead of where i chose it to start recording and where i wanted to end it

It sets the start point from where i choose to start the recording but it always ends at live, even if i press way back in the timeline to end it there

you could use obs and the vertical plugin. That’s what I do for my clips and streams. You can always edit your footage too. I use DaVinci Resolve

I regret to inform you that the computer does not meet the system requirements for an Elgato Game Capture HD60 S+.

It has a 2nd generation Intel CPU, which is a couple of generations behind the minimum recommendation.

got email back from elgato not shure what they mean by updating because the hd60s+ is a plug and play device has not firmware update

Steps would be as follows:

1. Remove the HDMI cabling from the Elgato Game Capture HD60 S+.

2. Run the 4K Capture Utiliy, hold "CTRL" and open the preferences.

3. Move to the "Device" tab and try a firmware update for the Elgato Game Capture HD60 S+.

-> Please do not do anything else during the firmware update process!

i even showed them a video of my problem this time i send them a log from my gaming pc they say its connected to usb 2.0! my pc doesn not have usb 2.0 ports all of them are 3.0 and 3.1

🤣 For some reason, the firmware update procedure does not seem to work properly in your case.

Since it works fine at 1080p, it does not necessarily have to do with the Elgato Game Capture HD60 S+ hardware itself.

upon further info I read your issue, your pc doesn't meet the required specs to work optimally. Time to upgrade your pc or see if stream/rec at 720 might be ideal.

As Vic said communication with official support would be your best best. But the HD60S+ has a minimum requirement of a 6th gen I5. Since you are running a computer with a second gen there may not be much elgato can do because you are not meeting the requirements needed.

Question/Issue: I'm having issues getting my Wii working with my Elgato (it's an old model Elgato, I got it second-hand), in that the Wii's AV feed cuts out when EGCHD is open on my laptop. Other times, it works just fine. My Wii is a PAL model, hooked up to the AV In on the Elgato via the component cables. I only have the basic AV (RCA) cables for the Wii, and I have it hooked up as instructed in EGCHD (yellow in red, red and yellow in the separate audio ports) I have tested my Switch (through HDMI), and it works just fine.

The AV feed comes up in the software, but I'm experiencing an unbearable amount of screen-tearing and stuttering.

so, I got a new computer, and I thought that I had a fix for the capture card I was using, and everything worked great, until my computer went to sleep, and my compy no longer registered my capture card. I put in my old elgato hd60 pro, and my computer still registers it after sleep mode and hibernation, but crackles...A LOT on my ps5 especially with hollowknight. my switch still works fine.
If I get a 4K60Pro mk2, can I expect the crackle to go away? this computer is basically new. I even JUST installed windows 11 on it again.
I suspect its just the generation of the card in comparison to the computer I'm using now thats causing a bottleneck of some kind.
Is that a realistic expectation?

So I bought an HDMI Switcher for my consoles and I also have an elgato hd60s to go with it, so when I put the HDMI OUT cable from the switcher into the HDMI IN port for the elgato and then put the HDMI OUT cable from the elgato into my tv, none of the consoles were showing up/displaying. Any reasons why?

it could be a few things. IN connects to console, so on your switch in connects to the Switch. OUT goes to your TV or gaming monitor.

This device itself is encrypted. It doesnt matter if the console is not. If you're connecting this to the capture card, its automatically encrypting the sources. Your capture card will not work with this switcher if you cannot disable HDCP.

I suggest using direct connections until you can find a switcher that is not HDCP encrypted.

There might be a way to disable HDCP, but you'll have to check the switches manual or contact their support to see if there is a way to do it.

Hey so I just bought a hd60x because I wanted to stream mw3 and I’m using “4K Capture utility” but my games are just lagging and I know it has nothing to do with my wifi because I normally don’t lag. You think this is happening because my pc doesn’t have enough ram to handle the elgato streaming at 4k I was hoping I can lower the it but I can’t , it seems like it’s stuck at (2160p59) HDR, it’s greyed out for me. Do I need to 1. Download something else that’s not the 4k utility or 2. My settings are probably just wrong and this is why I’m lagging

i cannot get my ps4 to work with my hd60 s+. my monitor will turn on, say no signal then turn off over and over. on the 4k capture utility it will show the screen for like, a second or two then go to no signal over and over. hdcp is off and ive turned it on/off and still nothing. tried different hdmi cables and still nothing. its worked before and had issues like this but i cant remember how i fixed it. windows 11 if that matters

do you have an hdmi splitter? ps3 has hdcp which prevents elgato from working but you cant turn it off so thats what the hdmi splitter's for

So my brother gave me is HD60 S hes had for a bit and i went to go plug it in and when i plug it in it says there is a USB Error. It gets power cause the thing lights up but its also playing a weird crackling noise every few seconds, Ive tried every USB Cord i own which is about 7 and i plugged it into every port on my PC and its still not working. Im assuming its just busted but am willing to try any other fixes if anyone has any ideas

It’s more of a Utility, so I’d say keep it in case you have to change the settings of the card, but after OBS is ideal.

The little analog 3.5mm port on the elgato hd60 x is a mic port right? .... cuz it is not registering any input from that port, only from the hdmi signal. any ideas? I'm trying to get my hdmi signal to mute and the audio jack to be the only audio input.

I tested the signal so I know a signal is going to it, i had hooked the signal to my headset. so i know that audio is being sent to the elgato hd60 x

i have it going from a camera into the hdmi input (nothing on the hdmi output) and a 3.5mm from a sound mixer into the device. only the hdmi signal is showing up. not the 3.5mm signal. i will be attempting to use it on my switch and test it there, but i have to sleep now.

The HD60 S+ is a UVC, so you don't need an additional driver, please check if the privacy settings for camera use allow to use our device, if the passthrough monitor has picture that just means your device gets power, the device manager should show the device if there's also a data connection - this symptoms could occure if e.g. the device is connected to a charging only usb port

Hey so I've been trying to get my Elgato HD60S working on my PS5 and connect it to my PC so I can share my screen on discord. The only issue I've encountered is that it stays a black screen for some reason. I also tried the Elgato software and that says it needs to connec to a 3.0 USB (which it is) and I don't know how to fix this anymore. I've tried updating drivers, getting software, BIOS settings.

USBTreeview will show the connection - Roothub here shown in blue - any USB3 roothub should support 2 cameras or capture devices, USB3.2 gen2 probably up to 8 but i can not guarantee that much

the roothub is actually the chip, your ports share bandwidth - your system should use at least 2 chips from what i can see, both of your chips should be able to support 3 devices, probably more, you should be good to go, but you would need a c-type hub since one of your chips is just connected to a signle c-type port

Cheers for the help. Speech actually sounds pretty alright, can provide a longer clip if necessary. Do you mean the 4K capture utility? I couldn't get a picture to show using that, and generally OBS is what I'm more used to for other recording so I've been using that.

ok can hear a smal difference, please note you will just get 48khz, that can't be studio quality - what you can try is to use analog audio with a 3,5mm jack - our usb devices can capture that, you just need to set the audio input to analog, our pcie devices have no physical input so you would need to use LineIn on your system but keep in mind that the Switch is known for ground loops - if your setup is likely to be affected by this you also might need a ground loop isolator - you can also send me your supportinfo - maybe i see anything in your log files https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027964592-How-do-I-use-the-Elgato-Windows-Reporter-utility-

You plug your TV into the capture card as well. That's how they work. You send the video from the device you have in your case the Xbox to the input on the hd60x and then another cable goes from the output on the hd60x to the TV. It came with an HDMI and a USB. Use the other cord that you already have there connected from the Xbox to the TV. Now you have all 3 cords you need.

Take the cord that's plugged into the left on your picture and plug it into the HD60Xs output.

Take the cord plugged into the right port and plug it into the left port on the Xbox.

No it should serve as a passthrough for the video connection as well.

You can just leave it connected and use it as you would normally but now you have the option to open the app on your computer and record it as well.

It is ALWAYS bad for electronics to overheat.. Most quality devices have built-in overheat protection, that will shutdown the device before the heat is an issue.

Morning all. I'm having an issue and I hope someone can help.

After a windows update, which seems to have deleted all my drivers for elgato, I've managed to recover my 4K60 MK2 stuff working. However, my 4K60 MK1 seems to be passing the video through my pc to my intended screen, but I can't seem to grab the capture on the computer itself. I've installed the 4K60MK1 drivers, but I have no idea what I'm missing. Could I get some help? Thank you.

Just to be clear, I have both versions of the 4K capture card, MK1, and MK2. I've installed 4K Capture Utility, and it sees the MK1 device, but in the utility it just displays as a black screen, but on the intended display monitor, it's showing fully.

i've got my el gato pci 60 card trying to play my PS3. I was getting it to capture successfully via OBS until I shoved a PS1 game in and turned it on. Everything proceeded to shut off after that. it's all running through my HDMI Switcher so that should circumnavigate the HDCP. any reason this thing went black on OBS and my TV?

Hello I am having problems with my HD60 Pro Capture Card. So I downloaded the 4k capture utitlity and im using it now only thing is I cannot control my audio. I had issues with crackling and popping for many years with the Game Capture HD application never found a real solution does anyone have a real solution and not just a hypothetical? in general sound capture was made in benefit of game capture, the music tab is actually to play music while using game capture, we capture audio different in game capture while using that - in these days sound capture still comes in handy with the advanced tab when you need to dublicate audio but the other tabs are not supported in 4k capture utility nor in obs

hey, this could be caused by a wrong buffer size - we use the best per default but that doesn't mean that's the best for every system - you can change that e.g. in game capture in the device settings:

I have a MacBook with OBS that I want to stream my Xbox gameplay through. I have the HD60 S+ and the gameplay + audio properly goes through there to my computer. I bought the Chat Link pro in hopes to record my Xbox audio as well, but I’m having no luck. I have everything set up now and I can hear the game, I can talk to people in game chat, but obs and the elgato does not pic up my voice chat from my Xbox headset

Hey guys. I just got the elgato HD60X capture card and am using 4k capture. I had no problem setting it up to stream my screen. I use a steel series headset and use steel series GG application to set up my gaming headset. I have found if I set the source as the HD60X on the steel series GG application it sends all the audio from my gaming PC to my Streaming PC but I can no longer hear my game or anything through my headset. It strictly goes to the capture device. If I switch it back to the headset it comes back to my headset but all audio is lost inside 4k capture and stream labs. Any clue what I should do?
