Im using a HD60x on a PS5 to OBS. Set up sources, changed to analong on the elgato software and when I went live with Diablo4 to test audio levels, We could hear me just fine, but its like the game audio wasnt turned up enough even tho the slider was at max. Certain game sounds came through like my character talking or the sound of changing tabs in the menu, those came through but not the games music or much else. Went to PS5 dashboard and the default menu music wasnt even hear able. Any ideas? I really need some help here. I also have the audio chat link pro cable

My sources in OBS are as follows:

The elgato in the audio mixer randomly moves and that is it. nothing else

it doesnt make any sense to me. I bought a PC and everything else on friday, set it up and had game audio but no mic, cause chat link doesnt include mic to stream by default, so I had to get a usb mic. with that the Mini tower I got didnt have enough ports so I returned it to microcenter and got something bigger, better specs and a bit newer. went through setting it all up again with OBS and the elgato utility (including the analog part), went to stream and then the Mic was working but game audio was all wonky

I've put myself in the position of needing to record footage from my 2DS. Or alternatively, since I guess that's pretty much impossible aside from setting my poor quality phone camera directly over my cracked screen, recording footage off a new (which is to say used) 3DS I'll have to buy. Could anyone reccomend me resources for what I should do? I feel like I'm totally inequipped to handle this. I thought maybe I could have it modded, but after looking into it a bit more it doesn't seem like software alone would be a good solution if it relies on wifi connections and seems to have other major issues.

It seems like there's lots of footage taken from these systems online and aside from using an emulator, which seems unlikely given how inconsistent the quality is and it'd be pretty noticeable, I'm not sure how it's done, but it feels like there must be a pretty common method for there to be so many people recording them.

game capture HD is a legacy software. it's not anything anyone is using, as most are using OBS.

4K capture utility is more so for the settings.

these aren’t natively supported without a mod to the console for capturing. Modding it will void warranty, no guarantee it will be done correctly, and very costly. Also it may not work with the capture card, if it’s done wrong.

following up here. unfortunately still no solution after trying what feels like everything I can do (every USB port, uninstalling/reinstalling OBS and elgato software, unplugging HDMI & connecting cords and re-plugging them back in, hard resets, the works).

has there been any other issues regarding HD 60X capture cards recently? I've had a few streaming friends recently have the same issue who are trying to solve it.

Hi, my capture audio started making this loud, constant fluttering noise, but only when hdr is turned on. Doesn't make the noise at all when it's 1080p. Tried switching hdmi cables, usb cables, tried everything I can think of. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. HD60X x ps5. Doesn't seem to make the noise when I stream from pc at all, with the audio coming from the desktop audio, but only with the audio coming from ''Video Capture Device''

Also if you just need footage theres homebrew for streaming it to your pc ... the framerate isnt create and it doesnt really support audio what makes the framerate drop even more but it works dine tbh

I'm not entirely sure what you mean but if you're talking about emulation I think I've taken that road as far as it can go. The framerate on the specific game I'm trying to play is bad enough to be nearly unplayable, even when I'm not recording, and this is just how it is for everyone, there's no workaround really. So it seems like my only option for playing it is to do so on an actual 3DS system.

it won't let me update the firmware for the HD60x as 4K Capture Utility doesn't register that the HD60x is plugged in and I can't change it from the Cam Link setting. However, my computer recognizes it so not sure where the disconnect is. See screenshots below for reference.

UPDATE: I just swapped my HD60X with a spare HD60 S+ I had lying around and it works fine so cables seem to be working just find. It may be a hardware / firmware issue with HD60X but not sure how to fix it. Does elgato do repairs / warranty replacements?

getting crackling issues when using hd60x (have a bit of a weird setup on top of that but i think i narrowed down the cause to the gato), i ran LatencyMon with and without capturing my ps5 with elgato and the card gets DPC spikes of up to 1000us and generally gets around 300-500us regularly, i tried updating the firmware to latest but havent noticed a different, im using OBS to capture but it also happens in 4k Capture, any advice appreciated (i have tried a lot of the standard wdf0100 advice online like power modes, process idle changes etc)

4k capture utility is acting really weird on amd cards. i got a new pc upgraded from gtx 1650 laptop which ran 4k capture perfectly to 6700xt with ryzen 5 5600. i tried setting up for my switch and everything works (picture, sound, and screenshot) the only thing that doesnt work is recording ( i press it and when i try to finish it doesnt save even after changing lcoations) and flashback

i tried using software and it got recording to work but it was really bad and glitched out the video and flashback was also bugged.

For some reason we get video but no audio I tried everything listed in the guide on the website nothing out of the normal. just no sound and sometimes choppy video. Any suggestions? Also when I have no option under device in 4k studio to switch to analog comes up blank but if I downgrade to a much earlier version i get the tools back.

Hello everyone, I have a question and I'm hoping someone could help me with figuring this out. I'm currently looking at buying myself a capture card and my eye caught the HD60X.

My setup currently is, my consoles are plugged into my soundbar which is connected to my TV and my PC is somewhere else in the room.

Now, my first question would be, could I put the elgato between my soundbar and console or would it need to be Console / Elgato / TV.

If the soundbar pass through is possible, it would open up another question. Would the Elgato support a USB-C cable that's a couple of meters long? I'd need one that's about 5m I think in order to go from my PC to my TV.

Now my third question is related to playing on the consoles. Do you play through some kind of preview window or do you look at the actual TV screen? The reason that I'm asking this is also related to me wondering how the audio would work. I'd have a headset connected to my PC so I could hear my desktop sounds and such, but I'd of course also have to hear the game audio.

I got some kind of crappy random capture card right now, and though it captures the audio and plays it on stream, I have to mute the monitor i'm using as my screen or else the audio gets picked up by my mic.

ok cables shouldn't be more than 10ft in length. As for live preview, it's just a preview, you should always use your output device via Gaming Monitor or TV for actual game footage. As for the soundbar, if your tv connects to the soundbar, and anything connected to your TV goes through the soundbar, then you shouldn't have to worry about inputing the consoles to the soundbar.

I have a dual pc set up 1 monitor on the stream pc (the capture card is in the stream pc) and two monitors on the gaming pc the monitor that is cloned with the capture card is set to 2560x1440 both resolutions match but I have the hrzt on the capture card at 60 while the monitor is 144. So the issue is for a completely random duration anywhere from a few short seconds to a couple few minutes the screen will split itself in a random amount as well. It could be a 50/50 a 10/90 or whatever split and then fix itself automatically

I just got my HD60S for recording and sharing Nintendo switch footage. It works like a charm, good fps, good audio quality. No complaints. However, while I'm share screening the Game capture window to my friends, after a few minutes of use, the preview cuts to black and the audio cuts off. The switch output returns as soon as I change anything in the elgato settings. What's causing this? Is the elgato going into sleep mode? I cant find anything to fix this in the settings

I'm having trouble connecting my Elgato HD60 from my Nintendo Switch to my Laptop. I have the capture card and the Game Capture HD software but no matter how I connect it the software it gives me no response

atm I have 1 HDMI cable connected into my Switch's HDMI Out port and into the HDMI In slot of the capture card, and then the other HDMI cable connected into the capture card's HDMI Out into my laptop's HDMI port. I also have the USB cable connected from my card and into my laptop.

I've restarted the software multiple times as well as my computer but I'm still not getting the game capture screen.

Interestingly enough when I connect the HDMI Out of my Switch to the HDMI out of the capture card, and did the same with the HDMI In into my computer's HDMI port, my screen flashes and does a whole thing that seems to indicate interaction but still no actual read is being had on the software, despite that being seemingly the wrong way of connecting

Hello! I have a problem going on with audio from my ** ELGATO HD60 PRO** Capture card.

It recently started with pops/cracking which wasn't too bothering since the popping/cracking was every once and awhile and somewhat quiet. I do use a HDMI splitter but i know that's not the issue because my TV receives the signal just fine and i had even disconnected the console cord from the splitter and plugged it in directly into the capture card itself. Same result. I also installed the latest driver, did not fix my audio issue..

If its an a hub it could be an issue of power to the capture device not being enough.

i know the device needs power to run, unlike say a mouse or keyboard so it needs to be in a port that can provide the power required. I use a laptop with a powered thunderbolt dock and that works ok but ive been away from PCs for too long to be able to help with the mirriad of ports there nowadays. You could try in another port to see if that makes any difference though

Hey everyone, im thinking about buying the elgato 4k60 pro and wanted to ask real quick if it works like I intend to use it.

I basically want to connect my ps5 to my windows pc and want to play the games on the pc itself. Currently I hope its going to be low latency and similar to a fullscreen game, thats just running on my ps5 and giving the feed to my pc, where I can still alt tab. Is that how it works, or does the elgato create too much latency?

Doing it to where you’re using the preview on a pc monitor through software will have some delay. Though the delay is milliseconds, it will work but the intent of the capture card is to have the signal coming to capture to so software as in obs studio or elgato’s software and then pass through the signal out to a extra monitor, rather the extra pc monitor/tv via the capture card output will not have latency nor audio issues. You’ll also want to make sure you have a open pcie slot on the pc you’ll be using for the 4k 60 pro so double check your pc motherboard that is sufficient for bandwidth of the pcie capture card and doesn’t use other or shared pcie lanes. Other then that that should answer your question.

I was getting video and audio out of the other AV capture I was using before getting the Elgato one, and the audio was coming through. All I did was swap out the old card for the Elgato one.

Everything is in the same exact setup as before. The only thing different is the hardware used.

I sent you eposvox discord to join and go to his capture card channel and post there. He does restro game setups and it can be some steps involved for getting audio working with retro consoles. Explain your current setup of how you have things plugged in as well.

Post the model of the elgato card as well you’re using. Some settings need to be set in obs to have the elgato cards to capture audio as not all capture cards are the same.

hm... voicemeeter isn't my forte, but there are videos. as for audio, it should route to voicemeeter, and then to OBS. In obs after you setup the audio source, you want to monitor and output.

Thanks for sharing Spark. It makes sense this issue would arise due to the recent windows update. Been hearing alot about it lately... Sadly, i never used Voice Meeter Banana and started directly with Wave Link and i do not have that issue resolved... The audio issue has become way less frequent now since i use the audio as a source directly in Xsplit instead of Wave Link, pops/cracks do come through but not as much anymore... Temporary fix i guess but would be nice to get rid of it entirely and have no issues whatsoever putting it in Wave Link.

My issue was similar. Not much documentation that i found about making custom profiles because a lot is involved. I starting reading about “moninfo” a program that will read your monitor edid profile and save it in bin format. Every monitor is a little different spec and elgato’s default 1080p 144hz or 165hz was not a option for my 1080p 165hz dell monitor, now i know its not 1440p like your case but the above program installed on the pc with your monitor connected to get the correct monitor profile should get you start for a custom one. Be careful though you can mess things up quick. Learn what it all does. I first contact elgato support and they too can make a custom profile for your case, the vrr may or may not be support based on the capture card you use though. So just cause you have a custom profile i believe that vrr is different.

okay thank you. I will say though actually, I did do this thing right here
however I noticed after updating it, it would still say I needed to update it. I kept doing it for a while until i realized for some reason the software says I'm on version [exhibit A] whereas I need to update to version [exhibit B]. The updating process claims to take me from [A] to [B], but it essentially keeps repeating the same "You are currently on version [A], next updtate to [B]" standard message and it doesn't exactly...stop? I could click on the update button as many times as I wanted, it didn't make the cycle stop. I have no clue why this happens. I haven't found a way to fix it, although right now I find no incentive to as I got it to work.

I was also trying to do this also but the quality was not great either. While I would like HDR recordings losing it while I am playing and recording is a real bummer.

I have come here for further assistance on how to make Elgato Video Capture work again.
With again, I mean that before I decided to install Windows 11 on my laptop, everything was working perfectly. I was very satisfied with the product!
Now after having Windows 10 re-installed, the program always says: "Device could not be initalized. Please verify software and driver installation.", even though the driver installation was successful.
According to a reply by PseudoChris on Reddit, there should be an Elgato folder in the hidden AppData folder. Unfortunately, I didn't have those.
Any idea, what I could do?

The audio is in sync what im finding odd is that the voice lines are ridiculously loud while the rest of the ambient sound is very low. Make sure you put your TV or monitor in game or low latency mode... I noticed that when the Elgato was connected to my TV it would not automatically switch to game mode like it does when the PS5 is directly connected

Also in system settings on the pc itself, kept changing the output device to the headset, kept reverting back to elgato line as soon as I’d do it, and even went to device manager to uninstall elgato line, still kept reverting back to it, the audio test worked, but can’t hear YouTube videos through the headset, which I assume is because goofy ah oc keeps not sticking to the headset I keep telling it to

I just bought the HD60X to replace my old Avermedia capture card, but I notice there is an Audio delay on OBS (Studio) when using DirectSound or Waveout (when capture console). I saw that's a "known bug" on Elgato products, is there really no way to fix this via a firmware update? 😕

As you know, there is a type-c - usb 3.0 cable from the box of hd60x. but macbook doesn't have usb output. type-c - I'm trying to connect two products with a type-c cable, but I'm getting a red light error. Is it impossible to connect these two devices without a hub? Or am I making a mistake somewhere?

I was forced to mute the sound on OBS and activate monitoring on Windows Settings for get sound on my GOXLR...
It's not perfect but it seen the only way to reduce delay.

We told me that is possible to use HDMI Audio extractor to get the sound directly on my GOXLR. But I don't find it normal to have to buy an add-on to fill a "default" from the capture card. 😕

agreed, I wouldn't but audio extractors are usually what people would use, however you could exclude the audio from the goxlr and use use OBS's audio input for the capture card audio.

I have a 4k60 Mk2, and I am getting an intermittent "signal not found" screen.
Occurs seemingly randomly during gameplay, but I can replicate by opening or closing an app to desktop screen so it might be caused by a quick change in display? (I am able to record this occuring if needed). Occurs both going straight to OBS and in 4k Capture Utility

I am running a 4090 output (4k resolution, 60Hz settings) from main PC to capture card, streaming pc has a 3090 with Crosshair Dark Hero & AMD 5800X. Bios updated to latest, PCIe set to Gen 3.

I have validated that this occurs both with my HDMI Switch > Splitter > Capture card setup (For consoles + PC) as well as direct from PC. HDMI 2.1 cable used, have tried with 3 different cables all 2.1 capable but still happens.

Any ideas?

question, friend of mine has a 4k60 that works fine with his PS5 until he plays something like Final Fantasy 16. The game still shows up on his stream, but his gaming monitor no longer has any output. If he hits the PS button, it goes back to the OS screen and his monitor works again.

I’ve been using the HD60 X to record gameplay on my PS5. For some reason when I record gameplay (for example FFXVI) there’s an odd cracking sound in my recordings. Not sure if it’s a cable issue, a setting issue in the software, etc…anyone else know of or have had this issue?

**Issue - I can't have audio on the gaming pc and recording pc at the same time(please check the attached picture)..if i choose the headphones in the sound option it won't pass any audio to the recording/streaming pc..and the same thing again if i select Hd60s+ then i won't be able to play with game audio (sorry for my bad English)

try going into sound control panel and see if your capture card is either disable or set as default device I had the same issue I messed around with the sound control panel and I fixed it somehow

Just out of curiosity is anyone having issues with the 4k Capture Software doing this? thats interesting because your HUD looks perfectly fine in both screen shots its just your game thats getting wonky, are these from the capture or are you seeing it like this on your game display too?

I initially thought that this was because I was trying to record off of my PS3 while it's connected to my Retrotink 5x. However seeing as this is also happening on my PS5 I am 100% sure it's not the issue.

So I just had my HD 60x arrive and I got a question. I got it all set up and I can see my stream through OBS. Is there also a way for me to hear the game audio through OBS as well? I got the monitor volume lowered ofcourse cause I don't want my mic to pick it up. But from what I remember there ought to be a way to set up a separate channel or something to hear the game audio through OBS.

Hello! This honestly might be an OBS related issue, but i have a 4k60 pro mk2 that's capturing at 1440p60, however OBS's video capture source almost looks like it's showing me the video output in like 720p. I open up the 4k capture utlity and it looks fine there. Any idea what might be happening?

I meant in 4k capture utility, not sure where this screen shot is from. as for OBS, change that to 60 vs 120. nothing can exceed 60 on this, you can capture 120hz though. that might be your issue. your encoder might be having dropped frames.

Anyone know why my Camlink Pro works fien in the 4K Capture Utility, OBS, and even the Windows camera app, but when I try to use my camera in a browser (tried both Chrome and FireFox) I just get a screen telling me to install Screen Link?
This is what it looks like - I can't choose to switch cameras and it's not grabbing my actual camera that's working fine elsewhere. I've even specifically set the camera to be any of my Camlink Pro devices but they all show this screen

But like once a minute my monitor thats conntected to my HDMI out on my HD60 pro goes black for like half a second, but not my capture on streamlabs, the capture never goes black. what can be the problem?

and the monitor isnt the problem, when i connect the hdmi cable to my other monitor, it goes black for like a full second instead

and it has never gone black/turned off when the hdmi cable didnt go trough the capture card

and its always like .5 seconds, never more and never less

and some days its worse than others

Hello everyone. İ have aquestion about elgato capture cards. İ am using 4k60pro mk2 for ps5 capturing , and i want to use also hd60pro for capturing camera. could be any problem when i start to use both of them at the same time could be any troubleshoot when i trying to use at the same time. some of you can say "use camlink pro or camlink 4k" , but camlink pro is very expensive. For the camlink 4k, i don't like tools using via USB ( which i have facecam and it doesn't work on my motherboard). İ would be really glad, if someone help me to find my answers.

My cams have always worked in one place so if zoom or discord or camera hub is utilizing the camera at any given moment it wont appear in obs... if thats what your experiencing that may be why...
