@steep snow from what I remember, the code is there, but commented out for some reasons in which I forget
What i remember, is that Tab planed to do it in the next Ban system update
i think this has to be on number #1 on your work list very important for server owners also for newcomer server which having big problems with hackers
We will absolutely have a way to ban player hw tokens
but with our current database and storage method, it's just not viable to do so
if we enabled this feature, big servers would likely be doing like 500mb file writes every 30 seconds or so
that would make the tx memory peak above the stack limit for sure
Before rewriting our database, we need to:
- rewrite most of our core backend (in progress)
- rewrite our interface
- maybe even add multiserver support
@steep snow Sidenote: if your server has 140k bans, you are probably among the top servers...
go on #old-bot-spam-21h1-23h2 and do /server to fidn the rank then ping me so I can give you the role and access to the closed channels

Can we possibly speed up the process of this, currently bans are really extremely easy to get around.
If it takes until january, it will take until january.
If he finishes early, he finishes early. If he needs more time, he needs more time.
If you are really struggling with not having that logic built in then build a system for yourself that will save those tokens and check them before the client is allowed to join
we cannot speed up the process.
and january was already a very very optimistic timeline
