Ironsight has had some memorable moments between 2017 and 2020, where the sniper played a significant role in why the community loves the game. The sounds are punchy and the shots are hard-hitting. My favorite snipers in the game are the R97 Blaster and Cheytac, as they provide the most satisfaction.
However, when the developers decided to nerf the sniper after transitioning to Steam, things became quite niche. The nerf affected the ads time regardless of the scope or sight used. While penalties like sway and flinch can be acceptable, the change seemed excessive. There's now a 50/50 chance of missing a shot when aiming directly at an enemy due to the inaccurate first scope. Quick scoping and swapscope, which are popular techniques, have become overly complicated and ineffective.
Sniper is an integral part of the game and doesn't necessarily need to be "realistic" when it comes to skill gaps. I hope the developers can give it more recognition.
