Im going to be starting as a new grad a company that is growing super quickly and my goal is to get to Senior as fast as possible.

I was able to meet with a few people who graduated 6 years ago and have spent their whole career at this company. They are now a Staff Engineer and a Senior Engineering Manager. Idk if I'll stay here for 6 years but I really want to get to Senior as quick as possible.

If anyone has any books that helped them get promoted I would love to hear about them!

Also this is probably not the intended purpose of the channel so let me know if I need to take this down

I think all of the Robert C Martin books are a good step for the development side of Senior Engineering

I’ve read Clean Architecture and planning on getting Clean Code

I think for the fastest promotion you need to be lucky with projects or very good at selling and validating your work with company vision

#

I’ve been exploring the promotion path too let me know if you find any good books

Currently reading Clean Architecture and I have to agree. I'll have to checkout Clean Code after though

I just ordered the book but from what I could tell it looks like it has a pretty good glossary of tech/frameworks for things at scale

I recommend reading “designing data intensive applications” by Martin kleppman. I haven’t read the whole thing, but when I generally read a portion of a chapter, it gives some good info
