#Elder Crystals Radius Bubble.

To start out I'd like to state the current eldering system is better than the previous shroom system. However I also think that it has room for some improvements.

~ First a radius sphere / bubble - when a elder crystal is popped the radius for the active zone is expanded, not only around it but also above and below -> bubble. This would be helpful to the dragons who end up using all their stam to get to crystals only to over/under shoot where to land and now they have missed the tic, or to the ASD who are eldering during day yet unable to reach the crystal due to the height. This could also help in PvP servers where you need to get in and out as quick as possible, run/jump/fly/glide into the bubble get the tic and off you go not even needing to stop momentum.

~Second extend the time the radius is in effect. - To put it simply once the crystal is popped the amount of time that the elder tic can be gained from when the crystal is popped is extended from instantaneous, to being still active up to 5 mins after the crystal is popped. This will help those who used up stam, or who struggled with getting into the air multiple times or the stones that trying to break the ASD's spirit. as well as adding a bit of time for those in PvP to make their escape or whatever is needed.
The amount of time a dragon can get to a crystal differs based on the type of dragon. the faster ones can cross the map in a few minutes. Even then they can still struggle to get in the air to get said crystal. Whereas for the BW who when even getting into the air can use up almost a 3rd of stam needing to stop to regain stam is a constant and the likelihood they've missed the crystal is very high.

The expanded area of effect and extended time it is still active even after initially being popped, could help lessen some of the conflicts that are bound to come up due to the eldering process being done in a public setting. This allows for the player base to continue to enjoy the game the way they would like to play it, be it solo or grouped, it can help avoid harassment or trolling toward and from particular player(s) while also adding a bit of a grace period for the dragons to have a chance at the crystal they worked so hard to make it to.

I've recommended a spherical pop before, for these very reasons. It just makes more sense, especially for all those crystals on ledges and cliffs where finding the perfect place to stand is a nightmare given the jump physics and lack of ledge grab... Ledge grab mentioned...
A five minute lingering of the tic radius mmmmight be a bit excessive, though... A minute would suffice. And like... Visible effects like sparkles or a subtle cloud that fades away as it goes. I'm pretty sure it's the energy pulse itself that's the source of the elder tic, so trying to explain that one away would be a neat trick.
And I hate to be that guy, but the topic of solo poppers needs to not be a touchy subject for mods. Is it against the rules? No. But it is exclusionary to the entire server actively working together to share the tic. When everyone is working happily in a system and one person ruins it, the argument should not be "it's not against the rules" to take away an entire PvE server's chance at eldering. When someone's fun is ruined in a game, it should be addressed. It's in the same vein as stealing food or spamming calls. Solo poppers, on PvE servers, should be addressed in the eldering process, even if it's just a rule and not something the devs have to code for. If there is activity in chat and you see people waiting, then wait. It's not hurting anyone to wait.
Thank you for listening to my TedTalk.

I don't really know how to tell people how to understand being considerate to others around them even in a casual setting, but "I should have the right to inconvenience everyone for my own benefit before I go" really isn't a good argument for this end of the topic...

But, reminder so as not to summon mods for derailing the thread topic points:
Bubble pop instead of disk pop - yes, very needed.
Residual timer after pop - maybe, there's potential here.
Restoring stam on pop - yes, please.
Harassment/trolling recognized as a problem - heard, thank you.

The reason I suggested up to 5 minutes was due to the timing it takes ALL of the different dragons to get from point A to B, for BS, SS, and IR you are looking at much less time than ASD, FS and especially the BW, the BW only gets .6% per tic so the fact that getting to a crystal is rare depending on how far they are from it or if anyone is even willing to wait on the BW with their need for stam stops. however if the 5 mins does give too much time, I would suggest 3 mins then, this would let dragons who are half way there a chance to grab the tic.

Also along with the visual effects of the Bubble itself. once a crystal is popped one of the visual effects that could show that the crystal is now in the fade away period could be a gentle pulse on the crystal icon on the compasses.

This could genuinely help most gamers play how they would like (unless someone gets on the game to purposely grief or harass people but I really hope that is not the case) for instances in PvE for the solos or early poppers, they can still do their thing get the crystal and be on their way without the almost instant hate gained by a whole flock of dragons who were on their way to said crystal. They call they fly away and people still have that timed chance, so now no one is excluded.
It could potentially help out with the disagreements that happen in chat concerning eldering and when a crystal is popped, so the admins won't have to moderate or shut down convos as much.

LOVE the radius idea!
unsure of the second one because of both PvP camping etc (I don’t play PvP but from what I’ve read this will cause problems), and also cause I think it wld encourage popping earlier cause everyone wld just pop instantly cause others can still get it within 5 mins but they themselves don’t have to wait, which means we would not have the usual 7 minute soft deadline - 2 mins makes a big difference for the chonkers and doggos
Solo poppers rly aren’t as common as ppl think (which is probably part of why it’s so obvious cause ppl rly Notice out of the ordinary stuff), even less so when ppl don’t react to them, and the vast majority of the time you have a bunch of dragons waiting for everyone else which is absolutely lovely to see + we wouldn’t have that anymore

(Not strictly relevant: I think the real problem is that there’s not much PvE content beyond the edering system yet, so we’re all extra aware of every lil thing to do with it, once there’s other stuff to do then this won’t feel so irritating for a lot of people. I’d rather the devs focussed on getting more content in than this)

(sorry if this is a lil jumbled, ik I’m bad at explaining stuff)

It wasn't jumbled, I believe I was able to understand what you were saying, and while I do agree that there isn't much to do in PvE currently other than nesting and eldering since more is planned I am not worried about that.
Since legacy days camping has been a thing in both PvE and PvP for the elder spawns as well as other locations for different reasons, so unless there is an express rule made to address that aspect I don't think discounting something that could at least give a chance though small for others in the server to get to the crystal location within the time frame is the best. Personally almost every time I get on to grab passive tics I will see people eldering getting mad at Solos or Earlys, and often some people trying to either calm the situation or possibly make it worse, it honestly is more rare for me to see people honestly waiting for others now than it is to see a crystal disappear or people exclaiming in global how its active and being popped, Though not reacting can be helpful at times. In situations like this when things are not addressed or cut off and people are unable to express their feelings about a situation it also can run the risk of people pausing or stopping their gameplay for extended periods to avoid situations that ends up stressing them out more. This is a social game and we deal with many different types of people, some who just want to fly around as dragons yes, however as a result you still end up with many different personalities that will inevitably clash in situations where Wait or Don't Wait is the question.
The Radius bubble along side the Extended Time could have the potential to significantly lower tensions when it comes to the eldering process in some instances, if you have someone who pops the moment they get there every time, as it stands you have until the crystal pops to get there, if they are the first there you have less time. however with the bubble and extended time you now have from when they are working on popping the crystal as well as the added time the crystal stays active.

Adding to this, i think with this implementation also having some form of indication at the top of the screen when the radius disappears after, like once the crystal pops the top crystal then becomes a bit more transparent in case any new crystals of that color pop up, and then once the 5 min are it fully disappears from the top so that way if the after effect bubble disappears ppl know to turn around
