Make sure Day Of Dragons is installed on an SSD per our requirements listed on our Store Page.
It is installed on an SSD, just an external one
Are you trying to join a full server?
I had this issue too, "verifying the integrity of game files" fixed it for me!
alright ill try that :)
ok uhm the black screen issue is fixed,, now i just load in for a few minutes and then get kicked back to the menu
i get to the part where the sky is in the back and that little flying dragon icon is at the bottom right of my screen and then it kicks me out
hmm it seems like you might have a slightly different issue to the one I had..
yeah i have no idea what to do
Typically that issue is caused by being installed on a hard drive disk, and they're just not fast enough to load the map before the server times you out.
You've got it on an SSD, but an external SSD, your SSD's read/write speed might be good enough to run the game, but if your connecting cable speed isn't, that can bottleneck it.
Have you ever tried loading the greybox maps? Such as on official deathmatch?
They should have a quicker load time, if you can load the greybox map we can confirm that your problem is likely load speed.
I loaded into one of the greybox maps and I was indeed able to join it so I guess my problem is load speed
Is there any way to fix it?
First (and cheapest) thing you'll want to check is if your PC has a thunderbolt USB port, it'll be higher speed then the other ports you might be plugging your external SSD in. If youve got a thunderbolt and you're not using it, switching over can up to double your speed.
Second cheapest option that might work (really, check for thunderbolt first, a cable that's faster then your port is a waste of money) is looking for a high speed USB cable, if you have to choose between two high speed cables of the same speed, pick the shorter length not the longer.
Third option is looking up your PC's motherboard and checking if you have a port to install an internal SSD. Little more pricey to buy an internal SSD when you already have an external, little more tech savy. But you're not on a mac, so installing one isnt particularly hard if you've got the port for one. (Or paying a local computer store to install one if youre not comfortable doing it yourself after looking into it)
- in summary
Check if you have a high speed port you're not using (easy, free)
If that doesnt work, there's two things to try, a faster cable (might work, half the price or less of upgrading to an internal SSD)
if all else fails, an internal SSD is nearly garenteed to fix your problem, if your PC has the set up for it. It's more expensive then just the cable, but if the cable doesnt work and you try anyway you could end up paying for both. Internal SSD is a bit more, but it's less then paying for both.

this?
i just had to restart my pc and it fixed its self
Me too
I am having this problem but for me it’s in the hard drive not usb or anything external
Please make sure Day of Dragons is installed on an SSD as per our System Requirements listed on our store page.
