Asking for a friend.
My friend can not join any server whether it's a EAC server or a non EAC server, pings 20 or 300, she can't join any of them. She can connect to the game and see the server list then choose and click the server, but she'll always kicked back to menu when loading to the server. And she already tried running game with EAC and without EAC but can't solve this problem neither. Any methods can fix this? She's been trouble like months.

P.S.: She can join Sanctuary weeks ago but have to try a dozen times or more. But now she extremely can't join any server since last update

Sliding in here first to hit off the common troubleshooting.

Obligatory first step, try verifying the files

Otherwise, the most common cause for "I can select a server and it starts to load, but kicks me back to main menu before I get to character selection" is the game being installed on a Hard Drive Disk rather then the required SSD

What you'll need to do to check, is press and hold Ctrl and Alt and Del (or Delete, depending on your keyboard) release all three at once, and from the menu that comes up, select Task Manager

In Task Manager, open the second tab, there will be a bunch of graphs. You'll want to find the one that says Drives, or has HDD or SSD next to a graph and a bunch of technobabble.

We're just looking for if she has an HDD, an SSD, or both. Most modern PCs ment for gaming will have both.

  • If she has more then one Drive, mark down what letter the SSD is named as (usually its marked as C: or D: ) and then check what drive DoD is installed on,
from the steam Library, select DoD, and then from the options, select "view file location", a file browser will pop up, and at the top of the file browser, you'll see the file address. if its installed on any drive other then the SSD (the letter at the front of the location address should match the letter of the SSD's name) all she'll need to do is change the file location (steam will do it for you in the library settings, or you can uninstall and reinstall onto the SSD)

  • If she has only an SSD, then there's a different issue and you will have to wait for the support team.

  • If she only has an HDD, then unfortunately her computer can't run DoD (but should be able to run legacy)
