#Transition to Fantasy Servers
3 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
While the Fantasy/Survival server modes were clearly announced at the time of inception, its been a few years or so now, and I feel like enough of the player base isn't aware of it, and the transition when the Fantasy Servers go up/get closer to being teased, is going to get... rocky.
In the name of lessened tensions when Fantasy Servers go live, I'd like to raise this suggestion thread.
The servers we have now, are Survival Servers. Each and every one of them are for survival/realism. They are planned TO NOT have
more then one biome map
Quests/NPCs
the full pearl system
if their single map isnt the map with the Slayer Worm on it, Survival Servers will not have the Slayer Worms, this extends to other bosses and end-game content.
Fantasy Servers will have the full game content, multiple skngle-biome maps linked by a portal system, and all the trappings.
There are no current Fantasy Servers, people are putting a lot of work in on the Survival Servers, and given Jao's statements on allowing snappers to drop Slayer Skin pearls (that you will not have snapper-dropped slayer skins on servers with slayer worms) he does not currently have plans to convert Survival Servers to Fantasy Servers.
Fantasy Servers are still a good ways away (potentially a year or longer). What can we propose to minimize player upset beyond just saying "we told you this was happening years ago", because unfortunately most of the player base wasnt around years ago, and I feel like this is going to be a shock to them.
