Look, I get it, an elder dragon is suposed to be a rare thing and yadda yadda. But please keep in mind the current context.
The game is unfinished, once adult, there is nothing to do. Survival is super easy, nesting migh occupy you a bit, but thats it. You had to expect people to just focus on eldering as a distraction. But this is a pain.
The crystals are a lot more fun than the Mushrooms, that is not my issue.
But can you imagine flying around for hours until you FINALLY find a stone that glows. But you emote at it and it just doesnt work because ''that's a secret functionnality of eldering''.

I sure hope its not a time of day thing. Are we expected to sit for an entire hour next to it and wait for sun down/sunrise? Is that supposed to be fun?

Given the fact that this system is new, that the game is unfinished and that hundreds of players are trying to elder, would it be possible to just make stones glow at a better rate. I'm not saying to make it easy, but after flying around for a while, I need a dopamine boost (that is not a false hope) or I'll just get cranky and unsatisfied, and i doubt I'm the only one sharing this feeling

I mean you sort of answered your own question. "The game isn't finished yet".

Like I want you to try to come up with a scalable eldering system that will both be sufficiently challenging -and- rewarding at this stage of the game where it's the only thing anyone can do, -and- that will also function when the game is complete in its entire form without making everything super broken and weird. Seriously, go ahead I mean at least that's a proposed solution to the issue, yanno?

But just saying it feels bad and you want a dopamine hit to stay engaged isn't actually saying anything about the game itself because, as you said, it's not finished.

Everyone complained about the previous system because they wouldn't tell us what it is, and I saw multiple megaposts along the lines of "we don't care how hard it is or how bad it is if you just tell us we'll be happy".

I agree with you, but things such as adjusting cooldowns... Programming is not easy, but cooldowns arent the most sofisticatedtask. I get it, the game is unfinished, but this isn't even the real map, what hurt would it do to adjust cooldowns a little.

I'm not saying its terrible and people should drop the game. This is just my feedback : While we are waiting for the game to be a bit more rounded up, can we get a little candy and not have one glowing rock a day that works and 5 that's just false hope.

I dont mind grinding. I'm not saying all rocks should glow every 5 minutes. But just an in between. 30-45 minutes instead of an hour for example.

This is what feedback is for isn't it? I am not entirely satisfied with the system, that's a 'me' problem, I'm aware. But I'm still sharing my opinion because if I dont share there is 0 hope for changes, at least by saying it, they get to weigh in on the situation and decide wheter to make changes or not. I'll still play, I'm not going to tell people not to play, I'm just sharing my thoughts here.

Didn't elder mushrooms take an hour to respawn in legacy? If so then these cooldowns are no different than they were before the update and people were fine with those. I'm sure it's frustrating to try and elder on full servers atm, but give it a couple weeks and people will spread out/stop playing and then it will be easier to elder, probably
