Instead of waiting for a flood of reports for trolls in servers, a simple /block command would work wonders to shun the rule-breakers and trolls. I honestly don't know how we haven't gotten one already. With Admins not always on servers, and it sometimes taking them a while to get to us, I think a /block command would be helpful in lowering the toxicity that may be floating around chats.

I’d like a feature like this simply to weed out the weirdos who make charged insinuations in global chat. Honestly with how sensitive the dev is I’m surprised something like this hasn’t been already implemented yet

Aside from it possibly causing problems with pvp this would be very nice

Probably because there is the option to just close the chat which would result in the same way, u don't see the toxicity lol. If people say they don't want to miss out on other things in the chat then it can just be ignored :P
I honestly don't think they'd get in this feature or this option just to prevent stuff like that, especially spamming the chat when admins aren't on, not sure

(good idea though chems_sad )

Not engaging with someone whoes only way of harrassing you is verbally is the best thing to do (talking specifically about in game interactions). Watching them get frustrated at your lack of care to interact tends to be quiet satisfying.

However, having an option to block someone is definitely a nice option, even if the rest of the chat will prolly still interact with them

I really hate this argument for bullying, even if it’s cyber bullying. If someone is harassing you, the best thing to do is not ignore them. The best thing to do is remove yourself from the situation. Or remove them. Hence blocking.

But what if someone isn’t harassing you. What if someone is making you uncomfortable with charged insinuations? Every time I game someone is in the chat making sexually charged comments that make me quite uncomfortable. Should I now turn the entire chat off bc some ppl want to enjoy the game their way? No. The best thing to do is give the option to the players who they want to not see in their chat boxes. It’s a QoL change that really should be included at the beginning

Edited for more clarity without message context

Blocking could help reduce the toxicity in the chat. But most games that have block features hide the player model of the person you block, which is why I'm bringing it up because I'm sure I'm not the only person who thought of it that way

after the incident we just had in sanctuary's global chat can we fast-track this idea...im sick of the same repeat offenders causing issues and drama so an admin once again has to be called ...
