#Increase Inferno Jump Hight

with how high the FS can get why can't IR have similar xD you almost always have to downhill take off
Yea, it's silly really, one would think with the thicc thighs and wings it would be able to jumo higher than a bush, which it can't even do right now
I'm not surprised lol. IR legs are so short and floppy I swear the knee joint is connected directly to it's ankles.
IR slow in flight but decent hops would cause a lot less terrain frustration and would make it more about the playstyle.
making you stub your toe is not how i would have balanced the IR at least
They addressed this in the more recent Q&A it will be increased
Thank heavens lmaoo

Considering IR only has two legs, doesn’t make a lot of sense that their legs are as weak as they are.
I mean if anything it does make sense they are so weak, its pushing up a hecking lot of weight.
They should be lighter than the FS though no?
Two less legs, and I think they are smaller? But I have not really seen many fs online to compare.
Im pretty sure they are on par if not heavier then the fs, they are built much heavier with significantly thicker wings. They are actually the same size
Huh, I guess Im just used to elder fs size, and havnt really seen much to compare
The wings are thicker, but tbh I think thats more of a problem with the dragon than something realistic or intentional
It has to be strong enough to get them off the ground, and absorb the shock of landing. Not saying they would necessarily jump as high as other dragons, but I feel the jump would be higher than it currently is.
What's with people in this server never pinging people? Never seen it be such a common issue anywhere else.
Yeah it defs jumps lower then it should but people saying it should jump high because it has 2 legs confuses me. My dogs 15kg yet she can jump way higher then I can
Tbf dogs jump much more often than 99% of people, so their legs would be used to it. There are recordings of humans being able to jump the same height, or even higher than a dog. The world record for the highest jump is 8 feet, while for dogs the norm is 6.
I know obviously using a world record seems like "well that's the ONE time", but I mean, there's not a lot to compare to considering nobody really jumps regularly outside of a small group of people for sports reasons. And considering a dragon jumps every day of it's life, several times a day, I don't see why it wouldn't jump very high.
The number of legs doesn't matter a ton. The only reason I mentioned it not jumping as high is due to wing drag and it's strange posture, as well as the fact that it's legs are fairly short compared to the rest of its body.
@round shoal
I mean some people run fast but 90% of us don't
This is kinda very much off topic anyway.... It's being fixed at some point
If inferno can run on two legs, holding up all of it's weight i think it's legs are strong enough to lift it up to take flight
And saying people have two legs and they cant jump as high as dogs with four legs is kinda dumb, since people aren't made for jumping, we're a weak species
Kangaroos with two legs can jump WAY higher than dogs
Plus it also has wings to lift itself up better to take flight
Wings way more muscular and strong than the Flame stalker's or shadowscale's
TBH if they didn't naruto run everywhere and ran like any other wyvern designed by people I'd be able to say those muscular wing help push it off the ground but yea.
100%, the way it runs currently is very odd I’m surprised it doesn’t fall over often lol
anyone who's had a chicken knows that even with 2 legs those suckers can jump very high... besides, archaeologists found out that pteranadons were able to jump off by pushing off with all 4 of their limbs at once, rather than just their hind legs like birds today do.
that being said, per the Q&A, I think jao didn't especially want to increase the jump height. he mentioned potentially lowering the speed threshold to take off, which... would help, but I don't think it'd help enough.
so yeah, please increase the jump height to be in line with fs and other oddly-limbed dragons
What about like this bat? Doesn't seem they're using their back legs to jump but their wings. IR's wings look plenty powerful enough to do that 🤔 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIl_bYFMr8o
Vampire bats are able to run and jump from the ground. They have heat sensors in their nose, that help them locate capillary-rich locations to make painless feeding incisions, and they have efficient kidneys that allow them to pass the water from blood as fast as they drink. This enables them to go home with a full protein meal.
They are also ...
the way they take off also helped scientists figure out that pteranodons take off in the same way.

Yes! I've been saying this since IR launched, they need to take off like bats. The way they take off now is ridiculous, no wonder it's so hard to get off the ground. Those big specialized arm muscles would absolutely be doing all the (literal) heavy lifting here, allowing them to vault from the ground with ease~
bat have two leg and this are weak, IR have the same morphology. IR definitely need some love to it's take off but it shouldn't use it's leg but his arms. As a wyvern it have stronger wings than dragons(in proportion).

Please read before posting
100% agree it should use its wings more
Plus in the cinematic trailer they could jump HIGH over an AI body lol
Bats can't walk, well they can, but barely. They rely almost soley on their wings for getting around. They even climb with them
It should definitely have strong wings, but its legs would not be as weak either considering it relies on them for traversal. It's be different if it was similar to something like a bat or loon, but it isn't
not as weak as bat because bats pushed the thing to the next level. Inferno can still run on two legs etc and most of time bat don't take off from ground. But with it's morphology definetly mean it has weak legs in comparaison of it's wings.
Something cool they could had in place of just increase his jump height would be make him able to kind of charge his wing to make a big flap that propulse him in the air
"thicc thighs"
but yeah i think i said something about it in testing and idk why they never did anything, i always just though it was my end
