Please make that those who buy emotes can use Laugh Emote. We have to spend $200 on Patreon for that TvT

Please, I think locking emotes behind a paywall is generally ridiculous

Laugh emote is fun xD
I thought we might have a chance

They should at least lower the price of the emote packs, honestly. We're not getting anything so extravagant out of it like a pearl or something.

#

$200 for a single emote is very dumb though lol.

It’s a bit too late to make it public, but I agree there’s no reason for it to be behind a $200 paywall. If anything all the patreon exclusive emotes would have been better being bundled with the emote packs since the emote packs are $5+ for some of the animations to be broken or not play the right sounds as is

Any emotes shouldn’t be paid for….

#

At this point you’ll have to pay just to get into the servers for a certain amount of time just to play WHEEZE

I wish i could say the same but animation costs money. But on that topic I don't think that they should be working on cosmetic emotes so early. They should be working on finishing important creature animations before releasing additional emotes. They are already using our patreon money on plushies. Although I love my bio plush, that's something I wouldn't have mind waiting for till the game was finished.

I payed $200 for it, I’ll be upset if it becomes available for everyone cheaper, that’s why they are called exclusives, a reward for supporting the game, I agree exclusivity can be a saddening thing, but what else am I supposed to get that’s unique and special after pouring money into a game I love? Respectfully I say, subscribe to the patreon long enough and you can have it too, If it’s too much for you then that’s Tough, $200 is allot of money for cosmetics, if your not going to support the game then don’t stress about the laugh emote, most seem find it creepy and unlikable anyway

And as much as I agree with supporting devs, the development of this game here has been super questionable, if not definitely not trustworthy anymore. And if feels like all they do is lock most of the development behind a paywall anyway.

as much as i really hate that we have to spend 100$ on a game at all to get content much less 300$(not a fault of the patrons, just the patreon reward system itself), you cannot do that to patreons - you cant have the rewards that people paid for (despite them being milestones and technically supposed to be free bonuses, nobody can deny that people pay for patreon specifically to get these things.) made cheaper, free or changed in any way.

Its a rock and a hard place. By changing it to be less overly expensive, you absolutely shaft the people that paid for it already. But if you keep it, it remains a toxic fact that you have to pay 300$ to get everything publically accesible in the game. that is a LOT of money.

The smartest move that dod is currently sticking to is not sacrificing anything - not reducing it nor adding onto it(ex we are told that we will not see 400$ rewards). Id rather it stay that way for ks and pt, and only change to adapt to mechanics (ex legacy vrs 1.0 skincrafting)

Could it have been done better via better business decisions? absolutely. Is it fixable? Maybe, but the risk of it getting worse when you fix it is so extremely high that its not a good idea to touch it.

Ohh Your good, sadly some people think they HAVE to have these rewards now, theres no time limit on patreon if people want the rewards just donate money when they have it. I'm slowly working my way up to the $300 just by paying $5usd a month, there's no reason to rush it

@blazing marten its not just an emote, its the gold overlay, a plush and the emote. An emote you don't HAVE to have by the way

What I don't realy understand about the patreon emotes is why are they so "basic"? Imo laugh and range should be free emotes and patreon should get something more extravagant for supporting, something more special, like a dance, or "kneeding", or a fancy Way of walking, or realy whatever the supporters want , what would truly be worth it, As you said a lot of them don't even like the current ones

honestly this ^
the gold is extravagant enough to be a great reward for patreon supporters.
but a basic emote that could have improved gameplay for everyone? the laugh should have been an unlockable/part of the DLC at least.

oh excuse me 2 cosmetics and a plush of which still should not cost a grand total of $200. that did not help your argument. I can still get more for $200 getting on amazon or going to the store lol. I can get at least 5-10 large stuffed animals and food for $200

for example Borderlands 3 Collector's edition had a Diamond loot chest replica, Boredlands 3 character figurines (X10), Sanctuary 3 Ship Model, Vault key keychains (X4), Cloth Galaxy Map, and Character art lithographs (X5) for around $300 and all of it tangible.

If we are counting the whole 200 reward then lets list what you get

Shimmer for every single skin in the game, Rage emote for every dragon, cosmetic jellies

Gold overlay which gives you 4 skin Combos no one else can get including two of the most popular skins from legacy the golden fire and obsidian gold like skins. Laugh emote for every dragon and a free plushy.

Yeah I can get more from other games sure but this is a REWARD (again the word people seem to struggle with) For supporting the patreon. Its not like you can go to steam and just select a $100 shimmer, its not some random paid dlc its a thank you gift for helping fun the games future development.

If its not worth it to you then cool its not worth it.

Going to use my 30 minute message just to say that the reason Borderlands could do that is because they had such a surplus of people willing to buy that they could factory make them in bulk.

Plushies are expensive. Idk why theyre being given as milestones, especially when I havent met more than a dozen people that actually think theyre of good design.
If dod wants to make plushies and make money, they should go through makeship since makeship makes as many as is ordered within the timeframe window. They could make 40$ plushies that are visibly worth 40$.
I could understand FS/bio plushes being slightly undervalued if they were handmade, but for a mass production with better options I cant say I'm jumping to buy one. I only got bio because it was bio, my favourite dragon. I dont even like it that much purely because of its off design. It looks remarkably plain next to my makeship plushies (and build a bear but not the focus since buildabear is a huge non custom company)
theyre cute because theyre simple. but that simplicity only can make so much cute.

With all due respect, it's not a reward if people Pay for IT, and we all know without the lifetime rewards majority of the people won't subscribe to patreon, so they do IT specificaly for those items, and you can, ín fact do a one Time transaction to get IT, just not on steam, that's what the annual sub is for... people seem to be Okay with paying that much because they can do IT in small increments if they want, while If IT would be on steam, they would NEED to Pay IT ín one go
Just to make IT clear, I don't mind patreon having these stuff, they paid for IT, just let's call IT for what it is instead of clinging to the belief that DoD would have the same amount of patreons without them being there

Doesnt change the fact it is a reward, If people only sub for the rewards then that's their decision but the purpose of being patreon is to see the sneak peaks and to help fund the development of the game. When you reach milestones you get rewarded for it, Its really not that deep,

Hell I did a second $200 patreon because I wanted another account with shimmer, but that doesn't change what it is. I was subbed way before the 200 rewards was even a thing and I luckily had enough to get it before it even came out, many others were in the same boat as me.

I dont know about you but I personally wouldn't sub to a patreon where I get nothing out of it dracthyr_shrug

crystal warren
#

You said IT yourself, you subbed twice for the shimmer, not because you wanted to support the project that much, that's a transaction, not a reward
And I Actualy do sub on patreons I get nothing from because I believe ín their cause emoji_64 tbh one of them did offer bts stuff but the supporters decided to give up their exclusive access to IT ín favor of public updates

Twist my words alright then, I never once said I don't support or believe in the project why would I spend over 680aud for a game I don't believe in TF . But jump to conclusions I guess, I always like how you people ignore half of what is written, like you know how I was subbed well before the 200 reward was a thing. But naaaaaah clearly I only did it for the shimmer keks, yeah I subbed twice because I wanted another shimmer but I was also more then happy to spend more to fund the project multiple times, theres plenty of other games or things I could have spent nearly $340aud on then a second shimmer if I had no faith in this game.

If people are happy to support a patreon and get zilch out of it good on them I guess, personally I would like it if dod patreon updates were public 2 weeks to a month after patreon get them, but if I get nothing out of giving someone potentially hundreds of dollars yeah I'm not giving them money because frankly if someone is funding your project they deserve something.

If your donating hundreds to a game and the creators don't offer any rewards for it then to me that's just a lack of respect for those who are backing it but hey that's my opinion.

While it is far from perfect I am happy to have supported the game and will continue to support it even though nothing is planned beyond the $300 I will still pay what I can either until the project is done or I no longer have any faith in it
