There is three skill trees. Each dragon maxes different skill trees as far as they can. Has to be different dragons. A solo player can do this, while it might not unlock eldering fully, it could be the first stage in a longer quest.

So. During my own testing (done on each dragon for under twelve hours) I have at one point gotten - though this was during nest testing on an FS 23% another 16% - on a ravager I noticed I had gotten a very small amount by just... flying around?

We could make the new elder system cool and inaccessible to players camping for it if we tie it to in game events or milestones like after certain quests are completed or bosses are defeated. This makes the evolution occur more naturally within the game world and cannot be exploited by players waiting in a specific location. Also, you could make it require players to actively engage with the world to discover conditions for triggering it.

About the portals, Early CC videos may have portals in them that were just access to different maps for videos like the ones with the model lineups we saw now and then, I honestly would think that would be the reason for portals and not eldering
