#Bio sinks in water when hovering

If you press G to hover while already underwater, you end up sinking falling deeper,

  • You don't stop going down until you hit the bottom
  • You take fall damage when you hit the bottom

Important Note:
When a bio enters hover mode from the ground, it jumps and then starts hovering
To reproduce this bug, you have to make it so when you press G underwater, you are deeper in the water than your jump height

  • This means that adult bios need to be deeper underwater than hatchlings to reproduce this bug

Another clip that I posted below:

When Bio hovers, pressing the space bar will cause you to descend in the water as it thinks you're in the air (whereas in other species, spacebar makes you rise to the surface faster in water due to their swimming animation).

To escape being underwater, go into hover mode and then press the shift button to ascend through the water and you'll eventually hover above the surface like normal.

In the clip, after sinking once, I tried to hover a second time while I was underwater, at that point it made me sink deeper

In this clip the bio is an adult, you can see that when I enter hover mode (underwater), I first go slightly up (just like I wanted to jump) and then fell to the bottom of the lake, and took fall damage when I reached the bottom

I think it's because it's treating it as if you're flying in the air. There's no water physics

I put everything I know in the original post for devs to see

Mega Forum for Hover Issues
@severe brook

When jumping into a hover, occasionally I'll be teleported above the cherry blossom trees on the island without extra inputs apart from space and g. What occurs far more often is being teleported to the side or a bit in front of you where you initially jumped into the hover.

On a side note, it lands you automatically when close to cliffs while hovering and thats rather irritating when you are trying to eat from a cliff flower.```
