Seeing as 1.0 will be bringing in updated animations and stuff for our dragons, one animation idea occurred to me that I don't think has been mentioned. I do know of some simple idle animations, which is great! BUT picture this - take it a step further and consider SOME EXTRA idle animations pertaining to the environment the dragon is in. An Environment that makes survival harder and more uncomfortable for the dragons should be visible on the dragons!
Imagine if you will, an ASD or perhaps the Micro Feathered Zygovo in the Frozen cold winter zones of the Frostfel Ice Wyvern. The Frostfel is comfy and at home, but the ASD and Micro Zygovo must be freezing and SHIVERING from that drop in temperature, especially if they are there for a long period of time. What if one of the idle animations, for some dragons in this particular climate, included some form of the dragon reacting to the cold. It doesn't need to make noise per-sey... Unless you want one to perhaps... sneeze? HAHA. But with all this in mind, imagine also how it could be a big opportunity to show more of the dragons' personalities and natures in this animated behavior.
One dragon could do a stationary shiver then maybe shake it off? Or maybe the Micro Zygovo could temporarily sit down and put its front paws on it's tail tip like a cat may do in the snow. It's freezing it's tail off after all! Or let's go in the exact opposite direction. The desert! Our dragons will be parched for water. Maybe a dragon could do a brief panting animation or lick its lips/swallow in a desperate attempt to keep it's mouth moist. The possibilities are endless! But I'm sure Real Life Animals are a great place to start and find inspiration.
Now, I am aware this would not be a priority function to the game, but think about it as some extra flavor to bring your dragons further to life AND them reacting to the alive world Jrakhon itself in the game. So whaddya think? π I'd love to hear other ideas for dragon reactions.
