Hello !

The developers are aware of this problem, and they are trying their best to fix the issue. So far, the only thing you can do is wait and be patient. The issue is not with your comptuer, the issue is the game and (probably Steam as well). Even though Steam says that your system does not support DirectX 12 while your computer does support it, the real issue is Steam and the game. The developers will hopefully fix it soon but what they need is patience and focusing. :3

I wouldn't recommend downgrading back to Legacy till we get proper news from the developers to reassure us that It's safe. Some players managed to get back to Legacy, some did not.

Iv been having trouble getting on DoD when my graphic card, drivers, etc... are up to date and my system supports Dx12 the legacy works but 1.0 doesn't. Iv come to the conclusion that there's something wrong with the 1.0 update

It's possible to be stuck in legacy but hopefully they find a fix that'll work for everyone or most people.

It's not possible to be stuck in Legacy.
There are risks if you want to downgrade from this update to the Legacy one, some people managed to get back to Legacy so they can; waste their time and play DoD while the issue is being fixed.
Some people failed to join back to Legacy (ex. me, I didn't manage to). The issue might have occurred after the game itself transfered to a new developing unit. Since the game itself was made in UN4 (Unreal Engine 4), and transfered to UN5 (Unreal Engine 5), that's double the better of the UN4, it probably had caused the game and the Directx 12 to malfunction and create errors and confusion. Such as: The gameplay not detecting your Directx version.

If the game works with gtx 1050 ti and intelcore i5-4590, any newer pc works too. This problem isn't a material problem, it's update or game, but not the computer itself

Only hopping back in to confirm 2 things I found out while researching this problem solo.

A. UE5 does have Dx11 compatibility
B. It has a specific manual switch while developing the game.

Long short: UE5 made the backwards compatibility hard to find and activate, its possible but there isnt any direct explanation for even the game devs, so be patient since it's a needle in a hay stack issue.

also the game would need to be 12_1 to be compatible with the majority of us with this issue

DoD 1.0 Requires DX12 SM6 (Shader Model 6), which is present on nvidia 900 series cards and up.

You can look up whether your GPU is compatible or not.

Yes it matters, your GPU is what is processing that information.

Legacy also supported dx11 which is older

its the newer shader model mostly that is putting us in this position.

It's based on this project https://github.com/microsoft/DxCapsViewer officially from Microsoft. Just tried it.

However even if you have the shader model, integrated graphics as Riven was saying, would be incredibly weak and give you some pretty poor performance on this game. That's just the nature of integrated graphics chips unfortunately.

Honestly, nothing has changed, it's the same as legacy but with new dragons and a new map, it wasn't necessary to add this 5 something because it just caused problems.

They just removed that fog where you couldn't see anything and BOOM and a new game without you walking around blind-

I downgraded back to Legacy, and I played it perfectly fine.
I even had the Acid unlocked, and the other skins without having to purchase anything.

I will say this, maybe one day I will replace the computer with a newer one, although I think that the computer from 2019-20 is still quite a new computer, I will not specifically replace it for new game settings.
It's great that the game is moving forward and has received such improvements, but I can't afford changes, so either there will be some intermediate solution (possibly easy to implement) or I'll give up the game for now, but I hope that the problem will be solved somehow, I My computer is updated, so it should probably work anyway

I'm having the same problem on my laptop...

The prosessor it is running with is a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4720HQ @ 2.6GHz but currently running 3GHz.
I have integrated graphics disabled on my system with the GPU being a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M

I checked the DX12 and it should support it.

I've/had the DX12-porblem, did the the lowspec-thing, got into the game, got onto a server, and than the game crashed with that:

they've fixed the dx12, but we've found a different error. Dx12 fix is to go to properties of day of dragons on steam, bettas, then change branch to lowspec.
