#Keeping Momentum after Dive

Right now if you pull out of a dive your dragon just slows down all the way again, which if the flight is based on realism, SHOULDNT happen.

Let dragons gain speed from diving because it's realistic, and opens up a lot of PvP and just PvE fun possibilities.

Of course let dragons have their limits, for instance, shadowscales, Biolumins, ect. dive WAY faster, but a big bulky dragon like Flame stalker or Inferno, may not dive as fast but can keep that dive momentum and speed boost longer. I think it would overall be a good edition to the game because the flight system although showing potential is a bit boring once mastered.....

PLUS let's be real, who wouldn't want to zoom?

Yeah I already suggested that it would be waayy better for flying and realistic

Rather have ALL dragons have the realistic diving movment.. Instead of certian few as it throws balance out the window...

If anything the bigger dragons should fall faster dive faster.. If we are playing with realism...

And if we are playing with realism then flamestalkers should be the apex preds of shadow scales.. Which they arent right now but in lore they are..

So yes every dragon should dive bomb... And gain speeds... A crud ton of speed.. The realistic way would be bigger dragons just require to tilt their noses up alot sooner to avoid crashing vs the smaller ones..

Agreed, momentum should be a thing when diving. That is one of the most important realistic aspects of flying that DoD missed. Just add in the BoB/isle dive mechanic and boom, perfection.

Oh, and a barrel roll!

Just some will dive faster than others, heavier ones will keep momentum longer

#

Shadowscales are more streamlined than fs and IR, it's only natural they'd dive faster

Bigger dragons have more wind resistance though so the diving speed should be determined by both weight and size/form

^ Cealen said it really well

No need to make them faster than ss in the air in any way, but give them other bonuses too, to make it fair and realistic ^-^

Doesnt matter how heavy an object is or not. If it has more mass than another object, then wind will push against the larger object. If wind was not an issue (which is unrealistic) then theoretically both an ss and an fs would fall at the same speed.

However, since we are going for realism, air drag has a SIGNIFICANT difference in how objects fall. Take this video for example

A bowling ball and feather were dropped at the same time to demonstrate air resistance.

Feathers have a lot more resistance than the round ball does, meaning the Feather obviously falls slower. When air isnt an issue, both objects fall at the same rate.

In DoD terms, the ss is like the ball in this case. Sleek, aerodynamic, and able to cut through the air much more efficiently than an FS or IR ever could. Their size, no matter how heavy they are, will always get a lot more push back due to their size and inability to be as aerodynamic as the SS or smaller dragons

In my mind it was just. Big things slow down slower than small things. LMAO plus mass does take account sometimes, thats why if you drop a person theyll get hurt if you drop an ant, or a gecko, which is smaller

But also how sum' is shaped also takes affect, like you said, SS is more aerodynamic

#

But the reason i said fs or IF should slow down slower than SS is just because they build more momentum than a SS could because of their mass

#

Big things stop and slow down way slower than smoll things, like drpping crates from a plane, big ones need more time to slow before they hit earth than the smoll ones, thats why their chutes open earlier

#

FS or IR would FALL faster than a shadowscale if they didn't have flight, so stam ran out and they pressed f, but in a dive they would be way slower

#

Plus having fs dive at the same speed of ss would just well... make people not play ss anymore at all, they already get KEESHED by fs in every other espect

It would be unbalanced if ss was to be killed by fs in every way

#

imo

Where have you been playing

#

Plus lets be real skill takes affect too, 1 asd can solo a fs if they're careful about it, or a ss

#

and if they know how to play

#

same with ss, if a ss knows how to play they can fight, but even a noob fs has a more likely chance of survival because it's fs

this is about flight not class so..

If a utah knows how to play they can kill a cera, if a struthi knows how to play they can take out an iggy.

Class only comes into play THAT much, making something so unbalanced that 1 class 2 will die if they ever meet a class 3 or a class 3 die if they meet a class 4 will make an apex issue, you won't ever get smaller dragons anymore

#

Exactly so don't bring it into this ^-^
