#Please don't make KS or Patreon skins impossible / extremely hard to get in 1.0

I know there's been some talk of this, and making the KS skins impossible to pass on after second generation if the people being nested don't own the skins. This is really unnecessary and not needed, people who own the skins want to be able to pass them on to other players, there's no need to make it KS or Patreon only. It'll make upstatting extremely difficult and almost impossible and just generally isn't a good idea at all for any reason.

Please make it possible to pass on these skins in 1.0, or at the very least make it rare like passing on gold is and make a more common skin (like how firefly is, maybe make an albino or something) to pass on.

I'm not patreon or KS myself, but from what I've heard a good majority feel the same way I do and don't want it to be impossible / extremely difficult

It should even be easier than the gold right now, at this point not even the skin holders can upstat the skin they paid for...the whole reason for shimmer was to make the skin holders stand out from nested players, why make it even rarer?
And before someone comes with the "ks/pt players will be more desired because only they can pass it" no, not everyone enjoys sitting on nests for weeks to provide skins for everyone, or get yelled at if they don't want to do it

With Skincrafting I will likely be going for skincrafted skins over my white skin alone just because I'd love to have things like the natural markings even as an accent colour, And I feel like it would look better than the white skin itself
But Crimson and Leumelan are absolutely lovely even on their own and I could completely see people wanting those, They have detailing on some species that looks infinitely better

If it is just 'hard to get the perfect skin like crimson but very easy to get red swatches or even a mostly red dragon' I don't think I'd mind, But I'd still like it to be more common than Gold is now I guess

Sharing skins freely is a major part of this game, and we're already seeing burnout from the gold crafting. It would be a shame to see something so enjoyed be lost.

Yah, at the level of difficulty right now it's insane, I agree there. lol Maybe even if they made it 'normal' nesting chances for skin owners to pass the skin and making it rarer the further down the generation line it goes? So skin owners 50% chance, 2nd generation 25%, 3rd gen 15% and so on or something like it? IDK how they'll be doing the new nesting system exactly though so maybe swatches will feel different and make passing not as crazy?

Not to mention, How many of the existing skin crafts rely on Patreon/Kick starter skin? These skin crafts will be even more impossible to obtain by making the original skin impossible as well. Bye bye half the current skins. Just like the gold skin crafts. It's pretty much impossible to get the gold crafts without first upstatting the golds. checks notes Now we're back to the original issue that it's impossible to upstat the golds in the first place

I agree 100%. I enjoy being able to pass my skin, especially my favorites. After the gold update, nesting became very depressing, tiring and not to mention toxic. One person wanted gold, got obsidian gold instead. They weren't a fan of the black on the gold so they tossed it (as i believe they have every right to if one doesn't like the skin). They were immediately met with name calling and being blacklisted (it wasn't even 18a and had spawn like stats). And to be honest, i see why folks are upset, making it nearly if not impossible to get that skin. People spending days, some without sleep trying to get it. I'm pretty sure Obsidian isn't even passable, which adds more salt to the wound. Has someone who has the gold key, it saddens me that it was made this difficult, people thinking we are trying to gatekeep the skins when i would much rather be able to give as many folks i can the skin they want. Currently i haven't been giving out nests publicly yet because i want to at least get it to 18a so others outside our group aren't stuck with spawn like stats. I enjoy giving something someone can be proud of.

I feel you there on that one. I will say, i am interested in the idea of rare/hard to get skins, a new way of nesting to keep things interesting like having to nest with close bloodlines in order to upnest, but hard to get vs nearly impossible and impossible(or just straight up cant) to pass are two completely different things. And right now its just sad. I'm no longer really enjoying the game and just put a nest down and alt tab/afk to pass the time easier.
