Hey guys so I am finishing my IGCSEs this MJ26 and I was thinking which A-Levels subjects to choose. I am clear with Math and Further Math as it would keep my options broad for Tech/Engineering but I am conflicted with my 2 other subjects.

I have never done Physics or Chem in IGCSE so I understand I would have to cover a great deal of the basics if I choose to take any one of them. I really want to take Physics since I've come to like it a lot due to my interest in Aerospace (I don't plan to take Aerospace it's just a general interest and aviation broadly)

I think the startup route is ultimately where I want to go otherwise I am interested in Quant, AI research, and rocketry. Comp Sci as a subject in A-Levels feels so extremely useless to me. I am going to try out for the Informatics olympiad next year and I am already about to be a Pupil on CodeForces but I am willing to change my mind on that.

Would love some advice from you guys.

Ofc the syllabus content isnt limited to Programming only maybe you could educate me a little about the subject more (I havent taken a look at the syllabus thoroughly)

The theory is js easy stuff like databases

#

If u wanna go into tech/engineering u need to know how to code anyway

obsidian saffron
#

would be best for what u wanna do

Yes that is what I was thinking as well

#

Do you think I could manage AL Physics without ever taking IGCSE Physics? I am thinking to cover the IGCSE content throughout the summer to catch up

obsidian saffron
#

for almost all gcses

#

u can cover the whole content in 1 summer to catch up for AL

#

physics gcse is hella easy a the a level is difficult though

#

physics is a necessity for what u wanna do

Yeah I always wanted to take Physics at IGCSE too but the school just wouldnt let me without Chemistry lol

obsidian saffron
#

not reliant on each other at all

Lol it's the average Pakistani school man with their own interesting ideas but thankfully those restrictions do not apply with AL in schools here

obsidian saffron
#

is def the best combo for what u wanna do

Yeah that's a good idea. Should I give IG Physics in Oct/Nov though? I am pretty sure the school would be fine with me not doing it officially. They'll just take a school assessment
