Hello, I currently am researching into Biomedical engineering, Biotechnology and biostatistics. I wouldn't mind a career with biology as a focus - yet i feel like all these subjects usually require a good foundation in chemistry.
I still have one option open as my current selection is Biology, Economics, and Mathematics. I have no prior experience with chemistry subjects, should I take it for the first time?
Or should I focus on physics instead...
#Worried about AS - A level subjects + Career

Are you doing IGCSEs rn or AS
IGCSE atm, AS selection is what im choosing for next year
Depends on your choice really. Do you like physics more or chem?
Yes chem helps a lot in bio fields
Ive never taken chem in my life. I took physics for a solid year before i dropped out for economics. But I do think I would do better in physics
However choosing a more humanities side for a career is not out of question for me
are u taking igcse chem?
If you didn't take chem in igcses, you def have no idea about it. In that case taking chem in AS would be a mess
Cuz you dont even know the basics
So I suggest carrying on with physics
i guess so
im not even in physics either at the moment so it is kind of messy
People who take chem in igcses find A levels chem hard. So cant imagine your situation
I was supposed to take AS geography but my school doesn't offer it anymore
@rain cedar if ur not then AS chem is gonna be quite hard. even for student that did give ig chem its rlly hard for them too cuz at the end u really cant compare a-levels to igcses when it comes to difficulty
Mhm
But you still got the basics of it yeah?
I mean, did you even study it fully or did you drop it in the beginning
Its been a while but Im planning to take extra lessons to catch up on it, if i do continue with physics
That'd be good
for a year yea, the teacher was horrifying at explaining so everyone that year kinda learned nothing
You still got a year. Thats enough to brush up
I mean, bio+chem is a bit more common
Bio+physics combo could get you into Biophysics, Neuroscience, Medical Physics, Radiology, and Biomedical Engineering, etc.
i was quite interested in sonography, working as a ultrasound technician
And bio+chem gets you into pharmacology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and stuff
Then physics would be helpful
why eco
i wanted at least one humanities in the selection to keep it flexible incase i change my mind
Bio, physics and maths would be just fine if youre into radiology or sonography or whatever
