If you fm igcse edexcel then it's similar to p1 and p2 ( harder than p1 and p2). If you took normal igcse edexcel math there are alot of similarities but p1 and p2 will be a bit harder.
Normally p1 and p2 should take about a year. If you did fm igcse edexcel then you basically know p1 and p2.
When you say best combos I'm assuming subject combos. If so then math, computer science and further math ( not required but would be ideal ).
It's typically refered to AS not A1 and AS is the first year of a level. And A2 is the second year of a level.
AS = Advanced Subsidiary
A2 = A Level
As for how many paper per subject depends on the subjects you take and you can refer to the syllabus to find out how many papers there are per subject.
