investment and banking firms prefer economics grads (for the high paying jobs) but they also hire finance/accounting graduates too

I mainly want to come back to thailand and get into MBB consulting after I finish my UK undergrad, so would you think it has a big effect (because these are sorta interchangable in the context of consulting as you can literally do consulting with a business degree)
But regarding finance vs econ ik they learn different things in uni but after graduation is it true that they can get the same job in the corporate world
