#Extracurriculars

Honestly relatable. Extracurriculars basically refer to activities demonstrating your skills outside of school, they should likely be related to your future career goal. You can utilise the Internet and find online organisations or activities to partake in e.g. non profits. You can start clubs related to your passions in school or learn new skills
I think it's just easier said than done but I'll try π thank you

It is easier to say it but that's what makes it valuable; it's hard to do
It's even harder to start clubs and projects here tbh
So I was considering to use social media but that's hard too if I don't even get following it'll barely be of any use
Honestly unless you're looking at USA for future opportunities, most countries still value grades
You're in pak?
Well grades are definitely the most priority but I've heard extracurriculars are important if you wanna get in a good college
yep
Ik the pain, I went to a Pakistani school and missed out on so many opportunities
I'm lowkey aiming for scholarships too so do you think extracurriculars help with that out?
So real
we're so behind in education tbh
They add value but not always
Honestly
I had to shift to an international school but everyone here has extras from childhood
π
That's such a pain
but especially in my city honestly there aren't many opportunities
And even tho I live in a bigger one people here aren't so open a ecs project will never survive
especially if it's by a teenager
That's okay yk don't sweat it if you can't do it because of our country
π
really?
i live in pak too
but i found so many opportunities
i volunterred in many hospitals
even outside of schools there are many opportunities
theres also so many competitions, some global too
we have clubs and societies too
which city do you live in
i guess you live in isb or lahore
Can't say that sorry π
no i dont
understandable then
oh thats fine
Karachi is pretty develop
Developed*
many things that are there are usually not in other cities of Pakistan
they might be in isb or lahore but since I don't live in those either π
thats true
maybe you can find some competitions online
or some online certifications
well I guess those are some of the only options I have π
I'll look through them in winter break
or you can reach out to some hospitals for volunteer work if you are persuing medical
hmm yeah goodluck
Thankyou, you too!
your welcome

U compete at national level and if u qualify u represent Pakistan internationally
U could start an ngo
Reasearch
How can I even do that when I'm not even in alevels π
did you ever do any of this
Not yet
In a levels now
Pls don't do that
Bad mein time bilkil nhi hota
Now is the time
You know these days in Pakistan Alot of student from various schools are starting NGO meaning a non governmental organization which works for the improvement in a specific field for example I used to be a part of a team paws of promises which collected money for stray animals and all and at the end they gave u a certificate which we can include in our college applications and all
You should check Instagram there are many NGO there
um I guess
Have you done that yourself?
because I don't know how to start at all
just checking Instagram doesn't really give me an idea
Yes
Um check in with your school students the one I joined was started by my seniors but there are many other too
Um i can suggest a few but I only know the one's In Multan mostly, what city you in?
um I can't tell here maybe in dms
i doubt my seniors are doing anything similar
Yeah sure
Omg are you from Multan
Yeahh
Samee
Honestly speaking it doesnt really matter how many EC's you do
but rather what kind of impact you have made with it
and whether you are passionate about it
these are the two criteria that many top colleges look into
i.e Imagine you're a person that does programming as a hobby. Can you make a system that can make peoples lives easier?
or you're really passionate about animals. Can you spread awareness of a certain endangered species?
If you feel like the place where you live in or the school that you study is "unsatisfactory" for you to pursue your extracurriculars (for instance, no clubs, no advanced classes etc), then don't complain about having no opportunities.
But rather the best thing to do here is to make them.
Create opportunities.
There are people who grew up with nothing and rose to the top
How did they do that?
By creating opportunities for themselves
My school isnt really that into clubs and advanced classes too.
But i'm trying my best to create opportunities for myself.
I learned how to code and took part in multiple projects.
In short, what I'm trying to say is to pursue what you are interested in and keep moving forward and create opportunities for yourself.
