Guys I need help
I am taking business economics and maths + epq to study finance and accounting in Uni
Do uni hâte students who take business and eco together and could this affect my chances of being accepted
My dream school is NYU and I messed up my igs a bit
Is it better to take 3 and do really good at them then to take 4 and risk a bad grade
Please help thank youuuu
#need help picking out my a level

some schools don't like bst with econ for sure, but idk about nyu
is further maths an option?
I haven’t done add maths so won’t further maths be really hard?
universities don't really like when students take both econs and business
because they are overlapping subjects and economics is more valued than business
however i'm not sure if this applies to north american universities
it's better to take 3 and do really well however the US is very competitive so typically students take 4
yes, even a level maths will already be hard because you didn't take addmaths
Yea it'll be tough
that is the best subject combination if you want to pursue economics
I have a similar issue
I do bus Econ math and psychology but I suck so bad at maths and I rlly wanna drop it
But I wanna get into business in uni but I heard bus and Econ together are not accepted
it's not that it isn't accepted together, it's more of like shunned upon by universities
economics is highly valued by unis compared to business
So what wud be the issues of just doing bus Econ and psych
unis wouldn't like that you take both business and econs
it's still accepted
you need to make sure that you don't need maths to be accepted into the course
By wouldn’t like would that put me in a disadvantage?
yes of course 😭
Like howw
since taking business and economics together isn't preferred by universities, your academic admissions value can be "weaker" compared to students that did econs, maths and psych
☹️ I would choose Econ psych and maths if only I didn’t suck horribly at maths
I chose maths fm business and eco but I might drop fm in further
i want to do something along the lines of designing in my career. didnt get good grades at all in my o level with sciences as my major. I have now taken media studies, socio and urdu (which i want to change with psychology) tell me are these the right choices?? bec after my o level grades ive come to a point where i want to choose easy scoring subjects for myself so that i can bring good grades.
Hmm what did u get in ur o levels
Cayse if I am being honest it doesn’t matter
Uni hardly care about o levels and if u get good on ur a levels it Js shows progression
So many of my Friedan had bad grades o levels then aced a levels and there SAT
What do u wnana do for professional studies
I'll be honest
I don't know what you're trying to go for there??
Media studies isn't preferred by some places but if you want that specific parh then sure.. but why Urdu??
easy scoring a levels don't exist lol
Because it's not accepted in places lmfao
Bruh
not very related to most courses is it
yes but the couseller told me, there are no specific subjects for designing
as in career wise
I know media studies can be hard
because the coursework does take ages
a lot of students have to stay behind at school for a couple hours a day I think
if ur fine with that then it'll work
okayy. and can u tell whats global perspective subject about ??
Not accepted in most schools
Like straight up they have something directly saying they don't accept it
in unis?
in pakistan too. youre pakistani ?
okay. could u plz sugest a subject then
I can't cuz I still don't get what designing means..
fashion designing, textile
dt?
design technology
idt pak colleges offer that subject
ok tbh idk what there is good for textiles apart from art
maths usually can't go wrong but some students will hate that so it's not always a good idea
okayy im here to take advice
yea u might want to wait until someone who knows more comes along haha
nws
it's a good combo, if you can't deal with the workload of four subjects in the future, try to drop business instead of fm but if worse comes to worse then drop fm
do these universities that offer this course have recommended subjects? i saw that you said the counsellor told you that there aren't any specific subjects but there should be recommended subjects
for fashion design or textiles, i believe the recommended subjects with the choices you're given are art, business, and another subject that you'd like
business may be random but in the subject, you'd learn about marketing, product branding and operations of a business which would be useful for fashion design
i've read online that people say it's best to take an art or design related subject in a level such as art, design technology and textiles but since your college only offers art, that's the choice you'd have to take
media studies can work in the case of doing fashion design
so art, business, media studies and/or another subject you like (preferably a humanity)
i think you could also do business, media studies and another subject because a level art is ridiculously difficult
okayy tysm for the help
Gave +1 Rep to @silk jewel (1309)
i also wanted to ask one morequestion related to this
that if i havent studied business in o levels is it going to be difficult in a levels ?
it won't be difficult
it's doable
Media studies is pretty infamous for having time consuming coursework
Some people absolutely love it so it works out just fine
as someone who hasent scored well in o levels too as a scienes student ?? bec i really need grades this time
you will definitely need to put in lots and lots of effort and time into it
but i'd say it's doable
yw !!
