I need some help/advice

So i've Appeared in 3 subjects this may/june and I will be joining As's batch this Augest.

My question is
Should've i been done with ECA in my IGCSE year or Should i start my ECA work in As level? like whats the norm? i am getting confused as many sources online differ.

And does science-fires and Oylmpaids matter while majoring business? i am aiming for the ivy leagues.

Okay look dude. Firstly if you are aiming for the ivy leagues and not just aiming to get in but really utilize and gain the best out of there watcch some damn movies ( social network for example) for inspiration. Secondly since you are aiming for business, i mean you gotta think like an entreprenuer and undertake certain entreprenuerial or socio preuerial endevour that makes a difference even on the smallest of levels.
Just imagine that most people applying will have very similar ECA lists and results but what will make you stand out is your genuinety as your actions will show that you tried to think about of the box and do something differnet to show who you are. So that is what truly fucking matters

unis prefer ECA’s done around the last years of high school
otherwise they may not be valid

Is last year of high school equivalent to As level?

if ur applying to international unis
u dont really get much time to do EC’s in year 13 so I’d aim for year 11 and 12.

You only get around a third of year 13

btw Afaik ivy’s require you to update stuff u do even after u apply

Can you tell me what are APs?

APs are kinda in a sense the US version of A-levels
ppl take from like 4-5 generally but for Ivys u might wanna aim higher to like 8+?
m not really sure on how the system works but u can apply to the US with A-levels
some do take APs

AP stands for advanced placement, they're first-year-college-level courses offered by college board

They're around A2 level difficulty

Doing well in them gives you college credits in many US unis

Usually people take them as a supplement to their main courses (A levels in your case)

But it's possible to apply with just AP or just A levels

But overall there is less content so they take less time

You take them over 11th and 12th

Like you take some in 11th some in 12th

Would it be worth it to take some AP classes along with a levels then?

I self study a levels and got offered a place at a AP program though I'm not sure if it is worth it

Im doing the sat aswell so I assumed it would be enough

Yeah, I'm not fit to learn from the traditional way unfortunately so I understand much better on my own

afaik A-levels r widely recognized across many unis in the US and they give credits too. I haven't really seen ppl take AP along with A-levels cz tbf is a lot of juggling to do. ur SATS, essays,ECS ,etc takes a whole lot of time.

id recommend taking AP's if the uni u want to go to doesnt recognize A-levels

dont take my word fr it, i genuinly aint well versed with how the US uni system works

depends on what you're aiming for

but like if theres a subject you wanted to do in AL but couldn't you should look at doing it as an AP
