#A Level subject choices help

that was one of my options but it's too far from where i live
if you don't live in KL i can understand that
if you're planning on doing literature or journalism then eng lit, psych and econs/law/maths works
unis still accept al law, it is a preferred subject
the controversy surrounding it is mainly for those entering a law degree, that al history is much more preferred than al law, which may be true but doesn't mean that law isn't preferred either
well then in my case econs and law are both equally as good?
bc im terrible at math
in your situation, both subjects have equal value
thank you
yw !!
Gave +1 Rep to 17269 (1100)
eng lit is your main sub for both journalism and literature
since it's all about language
and writing of course
there's such thing as a main sub?
is it worth it to still try for a place offering history? since if not then i'd be settled with lit/psych/econs or law
the main sub is generally like the most relevant subject to your course
eg. in an econs degree the main subs are econs and maths as they are the most beneficial and relevant towards an econs degree
some others may call it as the core subject
im generally more interested in history and did well in ig's but i'm not sure i'd mind
every school or college in msia that offers history is generally expensive so if you're able to score all A* in your IG and apply for scholarships, it is possible
im only aware of sunway and alice smith offering history, the issue with sunway is the distance and alice smith is the price
and that's even considering i get a scholarship
there's also charterhouse
if you live in seremban there's a few there too
like ktj, epsom
those are boarding though
your best bet is kind of sunway, i mean if you live near mrt/brt you can commute there
I think distance is also an issue
ill settle for econs/law i guess
both subs work so it's just up to you to decide
would u reccomend econs?
i recommend to take al econs if you'll be doing something related to econs in the future
it can be very tough (as are all subjects)
the only obstacle with econs is just the essay writing
but if you like essay writing, you'll be okay
i doubt that i will but i also doubt ill do anything to do with law, so i guess it just comes down to how easy they are
in that case i think ill opt for econs
both are nowhere near easy
same level of difficulty?
in my opinion, to learn the econs syllabus is easier than the law syllabus
is it more enjoyable too
econs is easier to swallow
it's around the same
i mean if you're interested in econs or business then you may find it fun
law has less essay writing?
idk how to weigh my options then
a very simple thing to do is look at the syllabus overview of both subjects and from there you read and think which would be more interesting to learn
will do. thanks
yes
scholarships also not as good ðŸ˜
but academically speaking its strong compared to other colleges
econ is more analytical / math-heavy in a way (ie. u will be working with graphs a lot and writing essays based on analysing trends/graphs). If u like doing that, then I suggest u take econ. If u like essay writing and reading more, take Law prob
econ has mcq exams which count for a small percentage of ur grade too
