whats AL?
The whole a level
A level
Its a 2 year course, AS being the first year, A2 being the second
First year is AS, second year is A2
ohh i see
The whole thing is called A level
A level being when u complete both years and get a final grade
so AS is half ur a level grade?
Pretty much
i dont think thats that case for me. my a lvls r linear so it all comes down to my final exams. does AS serve any other importance then??
Yes, it comes done to final exams for your Entire A levels
A levels is a 2 year course
First half is Advanced subsidiary
Then is advanced second
For the linear subjects, i believe u wont get a qualification for AS, u need to comeplete both years to get a grade [At least for edexcel]
yeah but the AS won't matter unless you do well in the a levels?
Which board are you doing?
fair enough so its not very important as long as you do well in the a level exams
im doing 3 diff exam boards for a levels
Do you mean A2 exams?
OCR edexcel and AQA
Or like A in general
That's interesting, why did you decide that?
my school decided it not me lmao
Strange, I thought schools usually just sticked to one single board
my school is a bit different. depending on the subject u do, teachers can pick the exam board
for that subject
but idk why its still a qualification at the end
i dont think its for me. because im doing 3 papers for each subject
1 paper covers AS stuff. another covers A2 and the third covers everything
and they add it up to give a score
n then a grade
nope different days. u think im gna be sitting there for 3-4 hours 🤣
I thought youd normally do 4 in one session
Session =/= day
wdym?
Didn't you do the same for AS
we did but it was 2 for each subject
but we have to do another AS paper for our final a level exams
that will be part of our A level grade but not the AS i did
im just asking like whether AS rlly affects anything such as uni admission nthat
Normally it does. It's counted as 50% of your grade
However you say your situation is different. I wouldn't know tbh. You should probably research more on your specific situation
ohh i see thats fine
so ur in the middle of revising for it?
or have u already done sum exams
Mhm
Some, most remain
Every year 2 sessions for exams are held
may/June and then another one in October/November
oh wow ur lucky
It's done everwhere
i had to do all mine in 1 month
Your school might just be conducted them in a specific session
That's how lots usually do
trying to do well with them
hoping it works out
