Your final results for AL are based on 50% of your AS and another 50% from your A2 results. So both hold equal importance

#

At least this is what I'm aware off

The whole a level

Its a 2 year course, AS being the first year, A2 being the second

short spear
#

First year is AS, second year is A2

tiny bobcat
#

ohh i see

short spear
#

The whole thing is called A level

unique mirage
#

A level being when u complete both years and get a final grade

tiny bobcat
#

so AS is half ur a level grade?

short spear
#

Pretty much

tiny bobcat
#

i dont think thats that case for me. my a lvls r linear so it all comes down to my final exams. does AS serve any other importance then??

short spear
#

A levels is a 2 year course

#

First half is Advanced subsidiary

#

Then is advanced second

yeah but the AS won't matter unless you do well in the a levels?

short spear

my school is a bit different. depending on the subject u do, teachers can pick the exam board

#

for that subject

#

but idk why its still a qualification at the end

short spear
tiny bobcat
#

i dont think its for me. because im doing 3 papers for each subject

#

1 paper covers AS stuff. another covers A2 and the third covers everything

#

and they add it up to give a score

#

n then a grade

short spear
#

3 papers in one session?

#

Also AS content still comes in A2

tiny bobcat
#

nope different days. u think im gna be sitting there for 3-4 hours 🤣

short spear
tiny bobcat
#

wdym?

short spear
#

O/N session

#

It's a period in which exams are conducted

#

2 months

tiny bobcat
#

you mean exam season?

#

yeah we do all 3 in one session

#

for each subject

short spear
#

Didn't you do the same for AS

tiny bobcat
#

but we have to do another AS paper for our final a level exams

#

that will be part of our A level grade but not the AS i did

#

im just asking like whether AS rlly affects anything such as uni admission nthat

short spear
#

Normally it does. It's counted as 50% of your grade

#

However you say your situation is different. I wouldn't know tbh. You should probably research more on your specific situation

tiny bobcat
#

yeah i get u

#

thats calm then

#

did u do gcses?

short spear
#

Not done with it yet

#

That's why I'm not too aware of the details for AL

tiny bobcat
#

ohh i see thats fine

#

so ur in the middle of revising for it?

#

or have u already done sum exams

short spear
short spear
tiny bobcat
#

huh rlly

#

what type of gcses do u do? 💀 cus they r usually done in may/june

short spear
#

Every year 2 sessions for exams are held

#

may/June and then another one in October/November

tiny bobcat
#

oh wow ur lucky

short spear
#

It's done everwhere

tiny bobcat
#

i had to do all mine in 1 month

short spear
#

Your school might just be conducted them in a specific session

short spear
tiny bobcat
#

yep

#

i hope u do well then

#

what u planning to do with ur gcse grades

short spear
#

hoping it works out

tiny bobcat
#

youll be fine

#

good luck
