I am currently doing IGCSE, I have now fulfilled 1 year. So next year I am planning to give my 2 exams and the rest in the following year. Recently, due to some unforeseeable circumstances, my family is moving to Canada. In Canada, they don't offer IGCSE, they offer there local American Highschool. I am really confused, whether I should pursue my IGCSE or do high school?
I am personally more inclined towards following my IGCSE, as I have worked hard to get this far so, only 2 more years are left.
#Should I leave my IGCSE?

@ivory perch it depends on (1) what exam board you will be doing in Canda and (2) where all you will be applying to college
IGCSE is definitely not required, in fact, it can save you a lot of money in the process too. It is not a graduation requirement, so you will still graduate and submit your coursework scores to the college you apply to.
If you're primarily focused on applying to the UK then IGCSE is good to do
Many people like to do IGCSE since it is scored based on Percentage Uniform Mark (PUM) and not Percentage (%) like most schools do, so candidates generally get better results on the actual IGCSE
But, if your college search is focused locally and in the US, you don't have to do your IGCSEs
what exam board are you doing in the high school in Canada?
The local Canadian highschool
Tysm for this insight @eager junco

I will be applying to Med school hopefully
I just feel that
the transitition will be
hard
you will most likely have to take the local curriculum unless you live in toronto which has the only (?) exam center in canada
Ohh, so we can give exam in Canada?
I am going to live near Toronto, its 1 hours drive
If i pursue IGCSE, are there any schools that teach IGCSE
Since I don't think there are any so.
in toronto u can do that
yes but not all of them, i checked the school out
no one to really guide me there
Online?
where they teach igcse subjects?
do you think its worth it?
Online school is fine, but learning in person is more better
are u going to go to uni in canada
if so then just do the local curriculum, + its accepted elsewhere too
Well I am not really sure about my future. I wanna become a doctor, I have heard it takes 8years+ med school, so I am planning to do uni from my homecountry. not really sure things are pretty unclear rn
There local curriculum is not that great as to what I have heard, comparing it with IGCSE the subjects don't go much in dept with the knowledge and the teachers dont really care, since the schools are free
not how it works lol
wdym
Ohh
alright
@dim citrus btw i went to pakistan it said not accepted?
What does that mean
it means the local curriculum is not accepted
Ohh right, well im doing igcse there
ie not equivalent
so i should be fine?
ur not gonna be doing igcses though
when u go to canada, ur gonna get their local diploma which is fine
yes but then where will i apply
like oxford university is so hard to get in, and i am definatly not even that smart
wherever u want??
I want to get into uni in canada, since i have its nationality
so you know my university will be less expensive
i think
the fees is 40% less for people holding the canadian passport
ok?
one more thing sorry, but what subs are like mandatory/needed for becoming a dcotor?
you'll know when you get to canada bro
relax
make sure you have all of the required documents btw
do u think i should go?
ur forced to go lol?
my parents are giving me option
ur gonna go anyways
might as well go now
quality of life is way better than in pakistan
well thats true, but like my relatives and family lives here and i dont wanna leave them
its quiete depressing there tbh in canada
ur gonna leave for uni anyways lol
Yes but then i will be older and bit more mature, yk
Right now im 16
yes? ur not living alone lol
but its not easy, tbh, i love pakistan
i just wanna stay here for the rest of my life, but with things and how they are going i feel like that wont even happen
you're right, i should be using my brain to make this decision but my heart what about it-
well tysm for the insight @dim citrus
