Is AUSMAT recognized in Germany for university bachelor degree admission? According to my research there isn't much information about this in the internet. Some websites say that its accepted ,some websites say that not all university accept ausmat results.

I know that this is a bit out of the topic
but I need to decide whether to take AUSMAT or A level after my IGCSE
I'm currently planning to go university in Germany/Australia/Singapore.

You should probably take A-levels

#

unless you're fluent in german, don't see the point in going to germany

#

you can go to the college's website and check for what they accept

16 is really young u can do a lvl and study the language

#

actually to learn german depends on ur pace it will take around a year or a year and a half

unreal dagger
#

yes its accepted

#

i assume you're malaysian?

#

i think there was like an event here for AUSMAT peeps looking to go to germany

#

so it is definitely possible they do recognise it, but im not too sure of the details

#

i think after iGCSE you should go around and enquire if AUSMAT or A levels is the best choice before going to germany

#

why don't you just go to switzerland instead

#

Much higher ranked Universities, you can choose between french or german or italian, and the cost is about the same

mighty juniper
#

switzerland is expensive lol

civic nebula
#

500-1500 CHF Per Semester depending on where you go

  • THe minimum wage is the highest on anywhere on the planet, working part time is more than enough
grand lava
#

Ok I'll check about it

#

Thanks for telling

#

How about the scholarship there?is it easy to apply for international students?

#

What I care the most is scholarship cuz I don't think my parents will give me a lot of financial support in uni

mighty juniper
mighty juniper
#

even if they're heavily discounted they're most likely still expensive

Student halls of residence are between 450-800 per month

#

CHF

#

to put into perspective if you work the 20 hours part time allowed per week for international students you'll be making 1600 CHF per month at a bare minimum

#

So if you work the part time allowed, then by the time you graduate your debt won't be more than a couple thousand unless you make stupid financial choices like 10 bucks on starbucks coffee everyday

#

Salaries in switzerland are really high

#

average graduate salary is 82k

#

you'll pay off any excess money you need to take out within first few months if you choose to work in switzerland which won'tbe too difficult if you study there

grand lava
civic nebula
#

however if you go on to get master degree which you should cause they're offered in english you'll make a lot more

grand lava
#

Hmm what language do they use in lectures

civic nebula
#

and what you study

grand lava
#

So there's English course in uni ?

civic nebula
#

Depending on your major, first year is French/German/Italian depending on where you are and then after that you are offered and then you can take English lectures paired with lectures from another lang

civic nebula
#

For masters, english by it self is enough

grand lava
#

Well I guess now I can add Switzerland to my uni list, seems that it's okay for me

civic nebula
#

Ironically the best french and german uni aren't in france or germany but switzerland that's why I recommend it

#

but if I were you I'd choose english path

Learning a language is very hard to reach Universtiy study level

civic nebula
#

I feel like if you just grind really hard and get really good a level grades then get offered scholarships that will be easier than learning another language to university level

grand lava
#

But I don't feel really confident for a level

civic nebula
#

you could just go swden and netherlands if prices are too high

#

Learning a language to university level is like taking 2.3 a levels time wise

grand lava
#

I took fle and it's so hardCoolCry

# mighty juniper yea provide a source to back your claim lol

"Many Swiss universities have housing offices that provide discounted rooms to international students in university dormitories. The type of student dormitories depends on the city your university is located in and can range from 500 CHF to 800 CHF per month."

This type of accommodation is typically limited in number, so make sure you apply as early as possible.

#

knew there was a catch

#

there are pathways to germany and not all of them need A levels

#

for germany and switzerland you will need to know german though most likely

#

i would recommend adding singapore to your list but you must do A levels for that, or you can do a diploma there and then do degree

grand lava
#

I think I can confirm that I'll do A level now

grand lava
unreal dagger
#

you'll have a break after doing igcse for about a month or two

#

that is when you can finalise and then do the registration for A levels

unreal dagger
#

generally for europe A level is the best

#

although it is hard

#

ausmat is usually for australia/nz

#

cimp is for canada, though is accepted in some Aus unis

#

A levels is accepted everywhere without any issues

#

that's why ppl recommend it
