if u dont have a tripod it may be a bit tricky to get long exposure shots if you wanna capture a dso and live in a light polluted area

ah, so something like star tracking?

ah alright, uhh if u wanna take a picture of the stars in specific

set ur lens to wide aperture, manual focus, and set exposures up to 25 secs (range 17-25)

iso 1600-3200 should do it

wide angle lens is best asw

and maybe a f/2.8 or smth to allow more light in, u basically need a light bucket in order to do any type of visual astronomy or astrophotography

ooh and if u want good focus make sure to find the brightest star in the sky and use live view so u can zoom in as much as possible

and adjust till it looks like a tiny crisp point of light

tbf id suggest a tripod

otherwise pictures gonna come out pretty blurry

also, im pretty sure capturing dsos with ur phone IS possible with the right settings

and its mostly automated so it takes the fun out of the whole astrophotography hobby

but the results are pretty cool

or maybe invest in a star tracker and sturdy tripod
