you could try something like vet school or go for nursing - obviously you dropped chem, so pharmacy is out of the question
if you really want it, take it as a private candidate maybe
was thinking about this but that would mean i would have to write my gcse in a couple of months and thats 2 years of content 🤡
idk, it's only October rn
November really
But that's still a decent amount of time to prepare imo
Even getting a B or an A should be enough to take Chem as an A level (for school requirements)
It'll be challenging, sure, but if you really want to be a doctor I think it's well-worth it
It's just a little bit of extra effort now - but it would open so many opportunities
i spoke to my mum about it, and she seemed hesitant to let me try.
but i really do want to be in the medical field so i will speak to her again
thank you
having a big career crisis lol
spoke to my mum and i don't think i will be able to be a private candidate so now med school is out of the picture atm
anyone have any advice on what to do? i was so stuck on med school i have no idea what to do now and i feel really lost
Why is that?
If you'd genuinely like to study medicine, then you'll have to take Chemistry
Most things related to bio do require chemistry
i think it could be the money to get a tutor. she’s trying to be nice about it so she’s not really saying why but i think that’s why
Research schools you are going to and see if they might have a gateway/foundation program to make up with the absence of chemistry - my universities require AS English Lit/Lang for everything, but if you don't have that, they allow you do to a gateway program to make you meet GER.
do you know if american schools usually have gateway/ foundation programs because that’s where i want to study
Well, in the US, you can only study med after finishing undergrad
So not having chem at A Level might not be as much of an issue
But tbh, if you really want to to med, it's best to keep your options open in terms of where you can apply
You'll only be able to consider places like the UK (where you can start studying med straight out of hs) if you have A Level chem
idk not american sorry
