They WERE and KNEW they were fighting a losing battle, however, they did NOT realise how close to catastrophy they were. As we saw, in animation and quest: no preparations (bunkers, shelters, any sort of safe sanctuary incase something happens), no well maintained equipment for everyone, and seemingly, everything going up to the palace in the sky rather than down; almost, it all seemed as an attempt to siphon what is left of the land's energy up to the crystal; as shown and supported by the name of the village being the last village

I do firmly believe that the elders and king knew it would eventually happen but they were all caught off guard and the king was lost in his obsession and it resulted in the shattering

Lamed is at fault, the most, as she seemingly portrayed by lore and animation to be the closest, almost a mentor, to the king

My best theory is: they wanted to make a spirit made god, a source of light, a rebellion against the megabird to show their ability and seek their own fate and destiny

||i think the saddest thing for me is how normal the last city is. they all had already known about the calamity, but they just tried to go on with their lives, play songs, sell food, and tea, and toys, despite many possibly watching their cities fall and loved ones die. it’s so realistic to how war is in our real life, there’s nothing these civilians can do besides try their best to go on the best they can, nothing but sitting ducks to these forces. (and yes, i agree— my point is that even if they thought it was further away, there was still the sense of dread they all had, knowing it wouldn’t last) ||

Two embers is such a fantastic way to show the past of these spirits and how resilient they were; but unfortunately, their fate was sealed the day dark gems were made and the moment light was drained from the lands' creatures

it reminds me so much of what i see or know of people who live in these literal active war zones, i wish time could just stop so these people could just wait, for only a moment, but alas life goes on. i’ve never seen a piece of media hit that feeling so hard like this season and movie, hats off to every dev who specifically worked in the environment design of two embers, all the mundane npc interactions and all of that is somehow the most heartbreaking part of the whole season.

@celest hedge also please don't stress too much about your current inability to tackle responsibilities well, instead just try and focus on improving even a tiny bit at a time. It might not feel like much at first but that tiny bit will eventually stack up and you'll be able to have an easier time handling your responsibilities. At first it could start out as smth you think of in hindsight, that you should have tackled a certain task on time and how you should have gone about that, but so long as you try to make a proper habit of even that, it'll eventually grow into a habit of making responsible decisions before it's too late, and before you know it you could actually become the most responsible person you know!

i...kinda speak from experience on that, i deal with issues of that sort too, and although i still struggle from time to time i've gotten good enough at taking my responsibilities seriously to get most of the important stuff done, and on time at that! :D

The season passes are always worth it and, look, all I have to spend is babysitting money. Even if you're not crazy about *all the cosmetics, sometimes you're glad you had them down the road when they unexpectedly look really class with something else you might get. Plus all the season candles you don't use get converted to regular candles when the season ends. I got like 120+ candles at the end of last season!

i know its an hour later but i would like to give slight advice that i had to learn myself that may or may not help: when you enter eden pnr, turn off your music. my runs got better again once i realized that, audio cues are very useful combined with visual (i say barely understanding if my timing is correct yet somehow managing it ), also use the treehouse (assembly) brazier, its small but mighty, and also fits perfectly on the flame stands in pnr and doubles the recharge

I absolutely enjoy the new season, there is so much more to do compared to older seasons. (Nothing wrong with that, the older ones were fun too but burnout was high.)
