soooo im currently locked in a storage purgatory

my phone is saying my photos app is taking up a lot of space (yes) but because it did a weird thing it does sometimes, not all of the files are there while storage is saying storage is full (shouldnt happen til all the photos reload/reapper)

i deleted youtube and spotify (spotify was taking up 3 GB with downloads, neither clearing said downloads or even deleting the app fixed it)

also one of the main reasons i cant fix the storage issue easily is this piece of garbage hates {•}, in other words throws a hissy fit if i try to transfer stuff to an external thing, as i found out a couple years ago trying and giving the hell up on transferring files to a micro sd card. yeah about 150 photos could take like 2 hours at least to transfer from my phone to the msdc, iirc [at least] one of the transfer batches took about 8 HOURS to do

[from “{•}”: something, my cousin that attempted to assist with the update incident whilst we were on the family campout about why it took so long to do so little, something with apple not liking to communicate with stuff via wires or something, i forgot]

btw im gonna be trying to put markers or footnotes or whatever you wanna call them for stuff thats off topic in a message im sending that is so big that it would break the flow of the reading if i didnt do that or spoiler said part, so ill put the off topic big parts at the bottom with a marker for where i had the thought

anyway, heres a list of reasons why i have full storage pretty often:

• too broke for a big drive to store the files
• transfers from phone to msdc can take up to 8 hours or more if im hellishly unlucky
• discord has a size limit of at least 10 (or more realistically, 9.9) MB [per file] and a VERY STUPID maximum of 10 files per message (this is the most annoying for me, as i use discord for storing stuff pretty often)
  probably something im forgetting but this is some main reasons

my moto z2 at least lets me disable and “force stop” (effectively useless like specific apps smh) SOME things. my iphone doesnt let me disable stuff entirely or even force stop them

• cant disable and even clear the cache on stuff that has ZERO functionality (specifically phone stuff!) due to there not even being a sim card in the dang thing [moto z2]
• cant make an app with literally every option turned off stop taking up storage or even delete it (iphone)

for the moto z2 we have the literally useless apps/system garbage that cant be disabled of: phone services (633 MB, cant clear it in any way besides i assume a factory reset), and [because i forget some of the other dumb ones] the default messaging app titled something like “verizon messages”, THIS WAS DISCONTINUED LAST YEAR AND I CANT DELETE IT

and for the iphone: we have the stupid health data app. i have turned off EVERYTHING for it, cant make it stop linking to my phone as a stupid source, and it has fluctuating storage stealing, from like 24.5 mb or something, to today’s 31.5 MB OF STOLEN STORAGE. cant even delete it! it serves no purpose except to be a thorn in my side!

oh also one more annoying thing that i learned about apple devices and their scummy storage when i was struggling with the forced update incident, this is also specifically affecting me rn: the system data occasionally just LOVES to be a little stain of a thing! you have full storage? check system data: 3.45 GB or something, thats fine. go delete lets say like 15.6 GB of photos/files, go into device storage in settings and purge them via that, reload the app and check storage. it hasnt gone down? check system data again, surprise! its a gift from the “heck you in particular” apple os demons ! system settings is now taking up 19.05 GB of your storage, because you totally dont need that!

yes system data occasionally likes to be a jerk and say “nuh uh, this is mine now loser” when you delete files so you dont have full storage

god im gonna have a freaking aneurysm from this hell

Yes very good, in a delicate cycle in the wash right now because the smell right out the box was a little overwhelming. It heats up pretty fast and good throughout the middle of the blanket, not so much towards the edges but the edges dont need to be fully heated because the middle is what will be on me so it is very nice

Sorry for the somewhat late reply I dropped my drink and it got on my books a bit. good thing they are hard cover and were in the box (because they are a box set) so only the edges got a little water on them so I had to remind myself to act fast and not panic because if you panic then the water will set in and you cant have that

Unrelated but im a little annoyed I had one cold sore and when that was almost gone I got another, no biggie, just two cold sores, but now that this second one is almost gone I GOT A THIRD?

I got some abreva and cold sore patches for the second one, then got prescribed acyclovir which can help prevent them from growing when I feel it coming up so I took that today for the third one and put acyclovir on the second and a patch on the third. I have to go out tomorrow night for pool league, and then we go out of town for pool Saturday- Tuesday. Although, they are normal and all I can do is try to keep them small and discreet

it was copper the teacher didnt need, and there were some pieces i was REALLY looking forward to using, if only for my entertainment. anyway the pieces i was most upset about losing were an ENTIRE copper plate {•}, and a part of that awesome plate {•2}. im gonna try to be to school earlier so i can hopefully go to the shop class and see if theres any copper still laying about, even if its corroded (which is the only stuff i didnt stockpile), and this is with the teacher’s (and principal’s to start) permission of course.

from {•}: its a plate or a sheet, probably sheet as it was [guesstimating here] about the thickness from the end of a tape measure to the first tick mark (american tape measure ofc). i didnt even notice it at first in there, or at least i noticed it and didn’t recognize it as copper for a little bit, but it was a big sheet of copper with a blue plastic protective film, so when i pulled a lil bit of the film off, it was SHINY (legitimately i bet i looked like the emoji upon seeing the shiny copper under the film ).

from {•2}: i cut off several bits of the copper sheet, but this one piece in particular was a square piece, i took it over to the table with square and round holes for mounting stuff like anvils (there was a long skinny anvil mounted in one of said holes), and put it over iirc a square hole and hammered a dent into the middle with a ball peen hammer, and that dent was a beautiful dent with how it curved due to the hole. legitimately i would be happy as heck if i only got that piece if any, just for the shiny and that freakin pretty dent

i love copper imma be honest, it’s malleable, yet can be hammer hardened to the point it could make a GREAT knife or such, and its very shiny when not corroded
