Each chevron lasts for 5 candles, and afterwards the cost of each candle gets progressively higher with each new candle - until your meter goes grey after 20, and you can only get more candles through immense pain

honestly I say just go for it and figure it out
then post the result and ask for feedback then so it's easier to give advice based on your work

Think that they're kids and are more round around the face and don't have imposing shoulders too. Use softer shapes (like circles) to help with the proportions and sharper (like triangles) for arms and legs (that's what I do personally)

This is probably going to sound extremely obvious, but don’t forget, many masks are just a flat shape with minimal details. You can embellish them as much, or as little, as you like and it’ll still work out nicely.

think of capes as lil t rex hands (bird wings) and it looks more fun that way

The cape is like a triangle too hehe + do simple flowy sketch strands for hair in the direction you want to help with it

start by tracing, but instead of exact sketch circles for the torso, upper and lower arms and legs, then hands and feet

this way you will have a scale to follow (if that helps)

And when you draw another sky kid on your own, don't be afraid to trace your own art to see how you did it

One of my stylisations when drawing skykids to try to give the illusion of glowing eyes is: I colour most of the eye a pale blue, but use white to denote where the iris and pupil are. Doesn’t look as featureless as entirely blank eyes, either.

My theatre degree was basically useless to me, but it helped a lot with writing, storytelling and worldbuiling. Characters do not "act" an emotion, they follow an objective or motive in each scene. So that can help if you're stuck.

Sky helped me remind myself of all the compassion humanity is capable of, it made me feel at peace in a whimsical world, and reminded me of the fun and joy of playing a good game and making good memories and friends in the process.

The experience is truly the most magical part of Sky - because new stuff to this day can give me that same feeling I felt on day one. The Aurora concert for example!! I'd been playing for 18 months at that point and the concert had me crying like day one moth Wolf in Eden all over again

Cattails is also a game that’s special to me! It was a beacon in a very grim and weird time for me.

You should check it out again! And yeah, Krampy’s definitely a fan favourite. They’re one of the returning cats from the first game, so that’s probably a testament to how much the fanbase loves them.

I wanted to go to Grandma's as a crab, but the barriers kept me out and the wind paths were too hard to navigate (you can't get out, even with the little charge)

I know theres the trick spells, the one's that give you crab, candle, and candy hats and let you burrow. I'll have to check if there's a Become Crab spell to keep

It usually hangs out near the steps where the cauldron is

There's no take-with spell to become crab. There's the burrow trick spell and a crab mask spell, but not become crab spell.
I kind of expected this. They didn't let us have the dragon spell from days of fortune, you either have it active or you don't have it at all.
Oh well, it just makes crab shenanigans a fun challenge then! I raced someone down hermit valley as crabs, it was fun
