The thing is, this game has made money off making "parody" items. Stuff like Mario's hat, or an eevee skin, or dragonball hair. I guess if the parodied items are already making big money off those, it's... Okay I guess?

But TGC is an independent game company. Unsure if they're triple A game company but not as big as nintendo where they make billions or something.

TGC has grown past the indie scene to be honest. What with billion dollar investments, hundreds of thousands of players, and Pixar animators. But that's still not an excuse.

I think there's also licensing stuff to do with big companies that handles parodies/spoofs

i think getting heart fragments from stuff is an interesting idea it doesn't completely take away the idea of hearts being earned through friendship, just adds another way of getting them for those who struggle getting them via friends

Once upon a time in early Beta land, you "could" get a heart after completing some of the dailies at the time— quotes because it was completely broken, but hey it was an idea TGC played around with Since then many things changed on how you get hearts, like having some from spirits and QGs and even from friends in the constellation as daily light. I doubt changes won't ever be made to the system again and you should submit your idea if you feel strongly about it

Personally, I like the idea of hearts being a symbol of gratitude between friends and would like that to remain the focus in some way.

I enjoy hugging them regardless, but imagine how sweet if they're like "the spirits are so grateful you visited them this week, visit the home shrine for a special gift they left you"

My thought is that the minigames could be focused around playing games with Spirits, like hide-and-seek and Simon Says. So we still get the symbol of gratitude between friends part, because the Spirits are grateful for you playing with them!

Maybe we could even have little mini-quests where if we go to visit a Season Guide, they'll tell us 'X Spirit is feeling sad/lonely, go see if you can make them feel better' and direct us to a Spirit. If we help that Spirit (maybe through reliving their quest like how it worked during Days of Fortune?) they'll feel better and give us 1-2 heart fragments (it depends on the Spirit's difficulty) as a thank you gift. Maybe even a hug too.
