Basically there will be three types of dice: a four-sided dice, a six-sided dice, and an eight-sided dice. You'll roll two of these whenever you want to do something (like jumping across a big gap). The four-sided dice is for things you're not very skilled in, six is for average tasks, and eight is for something you have knowledge/skills for. Easy peasy!

You can get bonuses by taking care of yourself! For example, if your character eats a big meal at a tavern, they'll gain a bonus from the tasty food

If you roll the maximum amount you can with your dice, you'll get a critical success! But you can also get a critical success if you get two 6s on your dice. If you get two 1s, you'll critically fail, but you'll get a special point you can use later on to reroll another bad dice roll!

Something I've never really liked about this game has a lot to do with the self-proclaimed veterans that you may meet in passing
I'm not saying every vet is like this, but often time I've found that they are rather prideful for reasons that isn't so very sensible
A lot of them seem to play the game in almost all of their free time, which they seem to have an abundance of, which despite this fact, their knowledge in regards to movement and optimization always seems to very null and void, or comparable to that of a moth. Maybe they fly or jump a bit faster and a bit more optimally but it isn't by a lot (not that there is really a skill ceiling that high anyway in a game that has absolutely nothing to do with skill or preformance)

I guess maybe I am just salty that they behave so pridefully when the majority simultaneously seem to be a bit ignorant at the same time?

Like you think that maybe they would eventually get to a point to where krill doesn't bother them or they find the trials easy or eden easy but they never actually get there

But then again, Sky kinda promotes doing a whole bunch of nothing so maybe that is the point lol

I love this game so much but at the same time I genuinely question why i play it sometimes... the only to really be gauged is time spent

I don't think this is completely wrong, but also not entirely accurate. People get in their heads a lot of misconceptions about being a veteran, particularly that just because you're older that makes you better. It really doesn't. Age has nothing to do with being better, but there's lots of reasons for that.

At the same time I've seen people who are HYPERefficient when it comes to flying, trials, Eden etc. The difference is that I never heard these people brag about it. My guess is that those who are actually good at the game are humble and those who are a little bit better than average are just tooting their own horns

It isn't, no, sorry. However, there are other means of getting ascended candles now, if that's your preference. Eden still gets you the most, but if you've seen those red shards that fall around the world on occasion, they can get you AC. It varies depending on the difficulty.
